Test Results
The Oster My Blend blender has a small, compact design. You can easily store it on your kitchen counter or in a cupboard and remove the jar from the motor base to make it easier to store.
It has a decent build quality. It's mostly made of plastic, which seems solid and durable. However, the plastic on the motor base transmission seems a bit thin, so it may not be very sturdy.
The jar has a 20-ounce capacity, so it's suitable for single-serves and small batches.
The jar and lid are made of plastic and are dishwasher-safe along with the blades.
This blender comes with four sharp blades. They aren't removable, but you can put them in the dishwasher for an easy clean.
The blades are attached to the lid, which screws on the jar for a tight seal. This blender also comes with a to-go cover, an open/close spout for drinking, and a hook to attach to your backpack.
The power cord isn't very long, but it should still reach most outlets. There isn't a stowaway compartment to hide the cord when it's not in use. If you're looking for something portable, you may prefer a battery-powered model like the PopBabies Portable Blender.

Unfortunately, it takes a long time compared to many other personal blenders like the Magic Bullet Blender. Plus, the manufacturer says you should let the motor rest for one minute for every minute of blending, so you can't just switch on the blender and let it run until it's done.
It's okay for processing fibrous ingredients at full capacity. It can produce a well-blended puree with ingredients like kale if you fill the jar, but it doesn't fully liquefy them, meaning you can see grains and fibers leftover in the mix. It's not a convenient process since getting the best result takes a long time.
It's not a good ice crusher. It doesn't crush ice uniformly and the narrow shape of the jar causes it to clump together.
It's mediocre for making nut butter. It can crush nuts but quickly pushes the mixture to the sides of the jar. Since you need to let the blender rest for one minute for each minute of blending, you can use that time to undock and shake the jar to help keep the ingredients moving. It requires about six minutes of blending time to produce the best results, so the process is tedious. However, in the end, it makes great, spreadable nut butter with a somewhat crunchy texture.
It's quiet compared to other personal blenders, which is nice if you like to blend an early-morning smoothie.
The manufacturer says the blade's speed is 4000 RPM. However, because of the blue color of our jar, our tachometer light can't read the blade RPM, so we can't confirm the blending speed.
The manufacturer recommends that you run the blender for only a minute at a time, then stop it and let it rest for another minute before continuing to blend. It doesn't have any controls or programs, since you dock the jar to blend.
It's fairly easy to clean. Blending with soap and water in the jar does some of the work, but it isn't easy to get the blade assembly completely clean. You need to clean under and around the blades with a brush. The jar opening can also trap food residue and requires scrubbing.
