The Oster MyBlend blender has a 20-ounce main jar with a unique sports bottle design, and it comes with a to-go lid to help you bring your smoothies on the go. It has a simple design but comes in lots of eye-catching colors, so it's easy to find a color that matches your home decor.

Our Verdict

5.5 Multi-Purpose

The Oster My Blend is inadequate for multi-purpose use. It's most suitable for blending single-serve drinks like smoothies and protein shakes and can make a well-blended drink with ingredients like kale. However, it's not good for crushing ice and is hard to use for recipes like nut butter or hummus. Like most personal blenders, it has a small capacity and can't hot blend.

Pros
  • Dishwasher-safe.
Cons
  • Can't hot blend.
  • Makes clumpy crushed ice.
  • Takes a long time to process fibrous ingredients.
7.1 Smoothies (Single Serving)

The Oster My Blend is decent for single-serving smoothies. It makes a very smooth blend with fibrous ingredients, so you can use it to make a well-blended kale or blueberry smoothie. It processes ingredients more slowly than many personal blenders, which makes it a little less convenient to use, but it comes with a resealable lid so you can bring your drink with you on the go. The jar is dishwasher-safe and easy to clean.

Pros
  • Dishwasher-safe.
  • Can make a good smoothie with ingredients like kale.
Cons
  • Makes clumpy crushed ice.
  • Takes a long time to process fibrous ingredients.
5.5 Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

The Oster My Blend is inadequate for multiple servings of smoothies. Since it's a personal blender, its jar can't hold enough for more than one or two people. It can make a very smooth blend with fibrous ingredients like kale, but it takes a while, so it's not convenient to use for multiple batches. On the plus side, it's easy to clean.

Pros
  • Dishwasher-safe.
  • Can make a good smoothie with ingredients like kale.
Cons
  • Small capacity main jar.
  • Makes clumpy crushed ice.
  • Takes a long time to process fibrous ingredients.
4.3 Ice Crushing

The Oster My Blend is bad for crushing ice. Its narrow main jar makes clumps of crushed ice, which isn't ideal for adding to drinks or making frozen desserts.

Pros
  • Dishwasher-safe.
Cons
  • Small capacity main jar.
  • Makes clumpy crushed ice.
2.6 Soups

The Oster My Blend can't hot blend ingredients, so it's not suitable for soups. If you want to blend room temperature ingredients for a recipe like pureed broccoli soup, it can make a smooth blend without many grains leftover, but it has a small capacity, so you probably need to work in batches.

Pros
  • Dishwasher-safe.
Cons
  • Can't hot blend.
  • Small capacity main jar.
4.6 Professional Use

The Oster My Blend is bad for professional use. It's meant for single-serve drinks like smoothies and has a small capacity. It's slow to process ingredients like nuts and doesn't do a good job of crushing ice. Like most personal blenders, it can't hot blend. It's decently well-built, and its components are dishwasher-safe.

Pros
  • Dishwasher-safe.
Cons
  • Can't hot blend.
  • Small capacity main jar.
  • Makes clumpy crushed ice.
  • 5.5 Multi-Purpose

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

This blender comes in several different colors, including Blue, Pink, Orange, Green, Red, Silver, and Black. We tested the Blue variant; you can see the label for the model we tested here. We expect the other color variants to perform similarly.

If you come across another variant of this blender, let us know in the discussions, and we'll update our review.

Compared To Other Blenders

The Oster MyBlend is a personal blender that comes in lots of eye-catching colors. Its main jar is designed to be a sports bottle, so you can make a smoothie, remove it from the motor base, screw on a to-go lid, and bring it to work. However, due to its narrow shape, the blender struggles to thoroughly blend fibrous ingredients, make nut butter, and crush ice.

If you're looking for more blenders, see our recommendations for the best budget blenders, the best personal blenders, and the best blenders for smoothies.

Magic Bullet Blender

The Magic Bullet Blender is better for single-serve smoothies than the Oster MyBlend. The Magic Bullet comes with a couple of jars for personal-sized smoothies and makes a silkier blend with fibrous ingredients like kale. It's better for making nut butter and easier to clean by hand. On the other hand, the Oster has a better build quality. You can crush ice without adding liquid to the jar, although it doesn't make snow-like crushed ice.

Magic Bullet Mini

The Magic Bullet Mini and the Oster MyBlend have different strengths, and you may prefer either. If you like to add fibrous ingredients like kale to your smoothies, the Magic Bullet will make a silkier blend. It also comes with a small additional jar that you can use to blend small amounts of sauce or dip. The Oster has a sportier design, and you can use it to crush ice without liquid in the jar. It's harder to clean by hand, but all of its components are dishwasher-safe.

BELLA Rocket Blender

The Oster MyBlend is a better personal blender than the BELLA Rocket Blender. The Oster has a better build quality and does a better job of blending common smoothie ingredients like kale or blueberries. It can handle tough tasks like making nut butter, although it's not ideal for that. On the other hand, the BELLA has some unusual accessories for a personal blender, including an extra blade assembly for grinding things like spices or coffee.

Breville Boss To Go Sport

The Breville Boss To Go Sport is a better blender than the Oster MyBlend. It has a much better build quality and a better overall performance, meaning it can produce silkier smoothies, smoother nut butter, and more snow-like crushed ice. The Oster is much quieter and delivers a decent performance for single-serve smoothies.

Magic Bullet Kitchen Express

The Magic Bullet Kitchen Express is better than the Oster MyBlend. The Magic Bullet makes a silkier smoothie with ingredients like kale and comes with a pair of jars for single-serves. It also includes extra attachments, including a food processing bowl and extra blades for slicing and chopping.

NutriBullet Pro 900

The NutriBullet Pro 900 is a better overall personal blender than the Oster MyBlend. The NutriBullet comes with a couple of jars for smoothies and does a better job processing fibrous ingredients like kale or fruit skin. It's easier to use to process thicker mixtures like making nut butter. Then again, you may like the Oster's more sporty, colorful design.

BlendJet 2

The Oster MyBlend is better than the BlendJet 2 for most uses. The Oster makes silkier smoothies with fibrous ingredients like kale and comes with a sealable lid for its jar. It's also much better at processing thick mixtures like nut butter. On the other hand, the BlendJet 2 is a portable, battery-powered blender. It's easier to clean by hand and better built.

PopBabies Portable Blender

The Oster MyBlend is better for most purposes than the PopΒabies Portable Βlender. It takes less time to make a smoothie and can make crushed ice with an okay texture. Its jar has a flip-top lid, and it's much easier to clean by hand. On the other hand, the PopΒabies is a battery-powered blender that's more portable, which some may prefer. It's also a bit quieter when it's running.

It has a decent build quality. It's mostly made of plastic, which seems solid and durable. However, the plastic on the motor base transmission seems a bit thin, so it may not be very sturdy.

8.0

It's good for small batches of fibrous ingredients. It can make a smooth blend with ingredients like kale, although you can still see small unprocessed bits left over. Unfortunately, it takes a long time compared to many other personal blenders like the Magic Bullet Blender. Plus, the manufacturer says you should let the motor rest for one minute for every minute of blending, so you can't just switch on the blender and let it run until it's done.

7.5

It's okay for processing fibrous ingredients at full capacity. It can produce a well-blended puree with ingredients like kale if you fill the jar, but it doesn't fully liquefy them, meaning you can see grains and fibers leftover in the mix. It's not a convenient process since getting the best result takes a long time.

It's not a good ice crusher. It doesn't crush ice uniformly and the narrow shape of the jar causes it to clump together.

Nut Butter Texture
8.0

It's mediocre for making nut butter. It can crush nuts but quickly pushes the mixture to the sides of the jar. Since you need to let the blender rest for one minute for each minute of blending, you can use that time to undock and shake the jar to help keep the ingredients moving. It requires about six minutes of blending time to produce the best results, so the process is tedious. However, in the end, it makes great, spreadable nut butter with a somewhat crunchy texture.

Ease Of Use
Cleaning

It's fairly easy to clean. Blending with soap and water in the jar does some of the work, but it isn't easy to get the blade assembly completely clean. You need to clean under and around the blades with a brush. The jar opening can also trap food residue and requires scrubbing.
