The Vitamix A2300 is a well-built full-size blender that comes with a 64-ounce jar, two-part lid, and tamper. Unlike some similar models like the Vitamix A3500, it doesn't have any onboard blending programs. However, it works with the Vitamix Perfect Blend app via Bluetooth, which allows you to access blending programs. It has a wide range of speed settings, and its jar, as well as lid, are dishwasher-safe.

Our Verdict

9.2 Multi-Purpose

The Vitamix A2300 is fantastic for multi-purpose use. This sturdy blender comes with a 64-ounce main jar, two-part lid, and tamper. It makes an extremely smooth puree with fibrous fruits and vegetables, whether you're working with small or big batches. It's easy to use to make nut butter and snow-like crushed ice. It's also easy to clean by hand and dishwasher-safe. However, there are no onboard blending programs, although you can access a variety through a companion app.

Pros
  • Large 64-oz main jar.
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Can be used to hot blend.
  • Easily processes fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • Slightly grainy smoothie.
9.0 Smoothies (Single Serving)

The Vitamix A2300 is incredible for single-serve smoothies. Even though it only comes with a 64-ounce jar, it makes a practically perfectly smooth blend with common smoothie ingredients like kale or blueberries. Some blenders with narrower jars like the Vitamix 5200 are even more convenient to use for small batches, but it's still very well-suited for making personal smoothies and shakes. It's also easy to clean and comes with a dishwasher-safe jar and lid.

Pros
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Easily processes fibrous ingredients.
  • Makes snow-like crushed ice.
Cons
  • Slightly grainy smoothie.
  • Smoothie jar sold separately.
9.5 Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

The Vitamix A2300 is outstanding for multiple servings of smoothies. Its main jar can fit a big batch, and when filled to full capacity, it quickly liquefies even the toughest smoothie ingredients like leafy greens and fruit skins. It has no problem crushing ice cubes, so it's very well-suited for recipes like protein shakes or blended margaritas too. There are no automatic blending programs unless you use the companion app, so you need to watch the blender and stop it manually.

Pros
  • Large 64-oz main jar.
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Easily processes fibrous ingredients.
  • Makes snow-like crushed ice.
Cons
  • No onboard blending programs.
9.4 Ice Crushing

The Vitamix A2300 easily makes snow-like crushed ice. Unlike blenders with onboard automatic programs like the Vitamix A3500, you have to manually press the pulse switch, which might be a downside for some.

Pros
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Makes snow-like crushed ice.
Cons
  • No onboard blending programs.
9.5 Soups

The Vitamix A2300 is outstanding for making soups. It can hot blend, so you can add cooked ingredients directly from the pot or pan. It's also very well-suited for processing big batches of fibrous ingredients like kale or broccoli that some blenders struggle with. The 64-ounce jar is easy to clean by hand and has a 2-part lid so you can add ingredients mid-blend.

Pros
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Can be used to hot blend.
  • Easily processes fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • No onboard blending programs.
9.1 Professional Use

The Vitamix A2300 is incredible for professional use. It's very sturdy and versatile, since it can hot blend and performs very well for all kinds of recipes, like pureed vegetable soup, single-serve smoothies, and thicker dips and spreads like nut butter. It has a wide range of speed settings, so you can easily adjust it to your recipe. Unlike the Vitamix A3500, it doesn't have a programmable timer though, so you can't set the blender to run for a set amount of time.

Pros
  • Large 64-oz main jar.
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Easily processes fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • No onboard blending programs.
  • 9.2 Multi-Purpose
  • 9.0 Smoothies (Single Serving)
  • 9.5 Smoothies (Multiple Servings)
  • 9.4 Ice Crushing
  • 9.5 Soups
  • 9.1 Professional Use

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Vitamix A2300 comes in four different color variants: 'Slate', 'Black', 'Red', and 'White'. We tested the Black variant, but we expect the other models to perform similarly. You can buy additional jars for the blender, like a 20-ounce personal jar for smoothies, but they're sold separately and may perform differently.

In Europe, this product is sold as the Vitamix A2300i and it comes with a slightly larger, two-liter main jar. It may perform differently than our unit due to the difference in size.

Compared To Other Blenders

The Vitamix Ascent 23000, like other 'Ascent' blenders, comes with a dishwasher-safe jar and works with a companion app. Ascent blenders are also compatible with the largest variety of extra jars and accessories of all the Vitamix lines, including a food processor, unlike 'Legacy' models like the Vitamix 5200. You have to buy any additional jars separately though. One of the biggest differences between this blender and other Ascent models like the Vitamix A3500 or Vitamix A2500 is the controls. This model has a digital display that acts as a stopwatch and shows how long you've been blending but lacks a programmable timer or automatic blending programs unless you use the app.

If you're looking for other options, try the best Vitamix blenders, the best blenders, and the best budget blenders.

Vitamix A2500

The Vitamix A2500 and the Vitamix A2300 are very similarly performing blenders, and depending on your usage, you may prefer one over the other. The A2500 does a better job crushing ice, and it gets snow-quality ice in less than a minute. Both can hot blend, and they're both Bluetooth-compatible and have presets available on their companion app. They both produce smooth smoothies but struggle a bit to fully blend leafy greens, like kale. The A2500 also has three preset modes available on its speed dial, which some users may prefer.

Vitamix A3500

The Vitamix A3500 is a bit better than the Vitamix A2300. It's quieter when it's running and easier to use for some purposes, like making nut butter and ice crushing. It includes automatic blending programs, while the A2300 doesn't offer any unless you connect to a companion app.

Vitamix Explorian E310

The Vitamix A2300 has more extra features than the Vitamix Explorian E310. The A2300 has a programmable timer, a digital blending time indicator, and works with a companion app. It has a bigger capacity, does a better job of crushing ice, and it's a bit quieter when it's running. On the other hand, the Explorian's controls just consist of a speed dial. Its 48-ounce main jar is more suitable for blending small batches of fibrous ingredients when you're making something like a single-serve smoothie.

Vitamix 5200

The Vitamix A2300 has more features than the Vitamix 5200, but overall, both have a very versatile performance. The A2300 is part of Vitamix's Ascent Series, so you can get different-size jars sold separately that use Self-Detect technology to adjust the settings based on their size. It also comes with a Pulse mode, a self-clean program, and a timer, and it's Bluetooth-compatible, so you can access preset modes using a companion app. However, the 5200 does a better job blending fibrous ingredients, so it's better for making smoothies. The 5200 also comes with 'High' and 'Variable' speed settings, unlike the A2300.

Vitamix A3300

The Vitamix A3300 and the Vitamix A2300 have a similar design and performance, but the A3300 is slightly better. It's much quieter when it's running, and its controls include a programmable timer. It blends fibrous ingredients like kale in less time.

Vitamix Venturist V1200

The Vitamix Venturist V1200 is a little better than the Vitamix A2300. The main thing that sets the Venturist apart is its two additional jars, a 20-ounce personal jar and an 8-ounce cup for very small batches. Βoth models do a fantastic job with small batches of fibrous ingredients, but the Venturist's personal jar and matching lid make it easy to take a smoothie to go. It's also better-built, a little easier to use for thick recipes like nut butter, and has a programmable timer. That said, the A2300 is quieter.

Vitamix 7500

The Vitamix A2300 comes with more features than the Vitamix 7500. The A2300 comes with a self-clean program, a timer, and it's dishwasher-safe, unlike the 7500. It produces a better result with small batches of fibrous ingredients, so it's a little more suitable for single-serve smoothies. On the other hand, the 7500 is easier to use for crushing ice. You might prefer its more straightforward design, and it makes less noise when it's running.

Vitamix Professional Series 750

The Vitamix Professional Series 750 is slightly better than the Vitamix A2300. They perform very similarly, but the 750 has a slight edge when it comes to making nut butter. It's also quicker at processing small batches of fibrous ingredients and crushing ice. Its controls include several automatic blending programs. On the other hand, the A2300 doesn't have onboard blending programs, but you can get them via a companion app. It has a few other extra features that the 750 lacks, like a programmable timer. It's also quieter when it's running.

Vitamix 5300

The Vitamix A2300 is a bit better than the Vitamix 5300. The A2300 is a bit quieter and has automatic blending programs and a digital display. Its jar and lid are dishwasher-safe. On the other hand, you may prefer the 5300's simpler controls. Its power cord is also much longer.

KitchenAid K400

The Vitamix A2300 is a better blender than the KitchenAid K400. It's a lot more powerful and also feels better built and more premium. Also, the Vitamix makes smoother nut butter and is easier to clean. The Vitamix's main jar is larger and comes with a tamper. On the other hand, while the KitchenAid is a bit inferior in pretty much all categories, it's a lot more affordable than the Vitamix.

Blendtec Classic 575

The Vitamix A2300 is better for most purposes than the Blendtec Classic 575. The Vitamix has a much better build quality and does a better job of blending recipes like nut butter. It's also significantly quieter. On the other hand, the Blendtec's jar has a bigger capacity and it's easier to clean by hand.

Blendtec Designer 725

The Blendtec Designer 725 and the Vitamix A2300 have different strengths. The Blendtec comes with a personal jar for smoothies. Its main jar has a bigger capacity and it has onboard blending programs. On the other hand, Vitamix makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients. It's much better for making recipes like smooth nut butter.

Ninja Mega Kitchen System [BL770, BL770AMZ, BL771]

The Vitamix A2300 is a more versatile blender than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. It can do hot blending, which isn't recommended for the Ninja blender. The Vitamix is also noticeably better built. On the other hand, if you don't plan on doing hot mixes, the Ninja comes with two personal jugs and more accessories. It also does a better job at crushing ice than the Vitamix.

Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ BL642

The Vitamix A2300 is better than the Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ BL642 for most purposes. It's sturdier, easier to clean, has more speed settings, and has a better blending performance for most recipes. However, the Ninja is a full-size blender with personal-sized jars included, and it's a little better at crushing ice.

Breville the Fresh & Furious

The Vitamix A2300 is better than the Breville the Fresh & Furious for most uses. The Vitamix is better-built, has a bigger capacity, and it can hot blend. On the other hand, they have fairly similar blending performances and the Breville is quieter and more compact.

It has an outstanding build quality. It's mostly made out of solid plastic and metal, and the cable is thick. Its jar and lid feel a bit more sturdy, and there's a bit less wobble when it's sitting on your counter compared to the Vitamix E310. Overall, there aren't any noticeable flaws, and this blender feels premium.

It's fantastic for processing small batches of fibrous ingredients. Compared to Vitamix blenders with narrower jars like the Vitamix 5200, more ingredients splash up the sides of jar, even when you start at a low speed. You might need to scrape the jar to ensure every last bit gets processed, but aside from that small inconvenience, it's really easy to use and make a nearly perfectly smooth puree with ingredients like kale.

It's excellent for nut butter. Even if you start at a low speed, some of the ingredients tend to get stuck on the walls of the jar. You need to use the tamper while the blender is running and a spatula to get rid of any dust on the walls. Still, it's not difficult to use and makes a very smooth, spreadable nut butter. Just like with fibrous ingredients, you may not have to use the tamper as much if you use a bigger volume of ingredients.

Also, unlike the A3500 or Vitamix A3300, it doesn't have automatic blending programs onboard, but you can access a large selection in a companion app called Vitamix Perfect Blend, like 'Soups', 'Nut Butter', and 'Spice Grind'. These programs run the blender for a set amount of time and stop it automatically at the end of the program.

Cleaning

The Vitamix A2300 is easy to clean. Running the blender with warm water and soap is helpful for cleaning sticky food off the walls of the jar. You still need to use a brush or sponge to clean the lid and the non-removable blades, but overall it's not tedious to clean by hand.
