As more and more people replace their current TVs with 4K models it would be nice to know about how standard cable broadcast appear on a particular set. I've read that some models perform much better than others. I'm 68 y/o and watch very little streaming content. I rarely see this issue discussed in reviews. Also "upscaling" should be addressed in reviews. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for contacting us.

Upscaling performance is very subjective as some people prefer a softer image and some prefer a sharper image even if there are artifacts or noise. As a result, we don't have a good test for upscaling quality. Overall there isn't a huge difference between the major TV brands (Samsung, LG, Sony) however Sony TVs are well recognised for their settings to adjust the upscaling to each individual's preferences.

If you are really concerned about if the upscaling will suit your preferences then the best thing to do is to bring some content into a retail store and view it on the TV itself.
