Phone Calls

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is a mono on-ear designed for taking phone calls on-the-go. This well-built, comfortable headset has an over 17-hour continuous battery life that's ideal for long days on the go, and its standby mode helps conserve battery when it's not in use. Its boom microphone transmits your voice clearly, and it's flippable, so you can wear it on either ear. However, this headset isn't very versatile, and the manufacturer doesn't recommend it for listening to music. That said, if you're looking for a portable Bluetooth headset, it's a solid choice.

Our Verdict

5.4 Mixed Usage

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is inadequate for mixed usage. This mono on-ear is designed for taking phone calls, and the manufacturer doesn't recommend it for listening to music. Its mono design lets you hear your voice while you take calls, but it also lets in a lot of background noise, making it less than ideal to use while you're commuting or in a noisy office. However, it has a long continuous battery life, a comfortable fit, and its microphone has a decent recording quality, so it's suitable for on-the-go phone calls.

Pros
  • Comfortable fit.
  • Decent recording quality.
Cons
  • Not intended for music.
  • Not stable enough for exercise.
  • Mono design doesn't block out background noise.
4.6 Neutral Sound

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is poor for neutral sound. It isn't intended for listening to music, and it has a very unbalanced sound profile. Fortunately, its mid-range is quite balanced, so it reproduces voices from phone calls clearly and accurately.

Pros
  • Balanced mid-range.
Cons
  • Not intended for music.
  • Inconsistent audio delivery.
5.4 Commute/Travel

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is disappointing for commuting and traveling. It's very comfortable and its long continuous battery life should be more than enough to get you through your commute. However, it isn't the most portable, and its mono design lets in a lot of background noise, which may make it difficult to take calls in noisier settings like a busy train station.

Pros
  • Comfortable fit.
Cons
  • Mono design doesn't block out background noise.
  • Not very portable.
6.7 Sports/Fitness

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is okay for taking calls while out on a run because it's light and comfortable. However, it doesn't have the most stable fit, so it'll likely fall off your head while working out. Also, its mono on-ear design isn't the most portable.

Pros
  • Comfortable fit.
Cons
  • Not stable enough for exercise.
  • Not very portable.
5.5 Office

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is sub-par for office use. Its continuous battery life is over 17 hours, which is more than enough to get you through your workday. Also, it can be comfortably worn for long periods without a lot of fatigue. It doesn't leak a lot of noise, so you can turn up the volume without disturbing your coworkers. That said, this mono on-ear doesn't block out background noise by design, which may not be ideal for taking calls in a noisy office environment.

Pros
  • Comfortable fit.
Cons
  • Mono design doesn't block out background noise.
  • Not very portable.
4.6 Wireless Gaming

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset isn't compatible with PS4 or Xbox One. It can be used with Bluetooth-enabled PCs, but its latency is likely too high to be suitable for wireless gaming.

4.4 Wired Gaming

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is wireless-only, so it isn't suitable for wired gaming.

5.8 Phone Calls

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is middling for taking phone calls in a noisy environment due to its mono design, but its decent recording quality is suitable for phone calls. Its boom microphone can reproduce your voice clearly, though it may also sound a bit thin. It also has a standby mode to help conserve the battery when it's not in use. However, it's designed so that you can hear your voice during calls, so it's best-suited for quiet settings.

Pros
  • Decent recording quality.
Cons
  • Mono design doesn't block out background noise.
  • 5.4 Mixed Usage
  • 4.6 Neutral Sound
  • 5.4 Commute/Travel
  • 6.7 Sports/Fitness
  • 5.5 Office
  • 4.6 Wireless Gaming
  • 4.4 Wired Gaming

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset comes in two color variants: Black and Blue. We tested the Black model, but we expect the Blue model to perform similarly. You can see the label for the model we tested here. If you come across any other variants of this model, let us know in the discussions so we can update our review.

Compared To Other Headphones

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is ideal for taking phone calls while on-the-go. This comfortable, well-built mono on-ear comes with a flippable boom microphone that makes your voice easily understandable to whoever's on the other end of the line. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any customization options, and it doesn't have a companion app. It also isn't very versatile and isn't intended for listening to music. If you're looking for other headphones, see our recommendations for the best Bluetooth headsets for phone calls, the best wireless Bluetooth headphones, and the best earphones with a mic.

TaoTronics TT-BH041 Bluetooth Headset

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset is a better mono on-ear headset than the TaoTronics TT-BH041 Bluetooth Headset. The Mpow is more comfortable, and its microphone has a better recording quality and noise handling performance. Unlike the TaoTronics, it supports multi-device pairing, too. However, the TaoTronics has a longer continuous battery life.

BlueParrott B450-XT Bluetooth Headset

The BlueParrott B450-XT Bluetooth Headset is a better mono on-ear headset than the Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset. The BlueParrott has a more stable fit and a more balanced sound profile. Its continuous battery life is longer, and its microphone has a better recording quality and noise handling performance. That said, the Mpow is more comfortable and better-built.

Plantronics Voyager 5200 Bluetooth Headset

The Plantronics Voyager 5200 Bluetooth Headset and the Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset are both solid choices for taking phone calls on-the-go. Some users may prefer the Plantronics' mono earbud design, which is more portable and more stable than the mono on-ear design of the Mpow. The Plantronics also comes with a companion app, and its microphone performs better in noisier environments. That said, the Mpow has a longer continuous battery life, and its microphone has a better recording quality.

Jabra Talk 45 Bluetooth Headset

The Jabra Talk 45 Bluetooth Headset and the Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset are both solid options for taking phone calls. The Jabra's mono in-ear design is smaller, more portable, and more stable, and it also comes with an app that's well-suited to professionals on the go. However, the Mpow is better-built, more comfortable, and has a longer continuous battery life. Also, its microphone has a better recording quality and noise handling performance.

The Mpow Pro Trucker Bluetooth Headset has mediocre portability. While it isn't as big or bulky as a pair of over-ear headphones, its headband doesn't fold down and its ear cup doesn't swivel into a more compact size. Also, the microphone isn't detachable, so it could easily snag on something if you put them into your bag.
