The 4 Best 32-Inch Monitors - Spring 2024 Reviews

Updated
Best 32-Inch Monitors

Getting a 32-inch monitor has many benefits compared to a smaller display, as they offer more screen space to multitask or for an immersive gaming experience. There are a ton of great 32-inch monitors to choose from, but while they're growing in popularity, they still aren't as common as 27-inch displays. Luckily, they usually have a 4k or 1440p resolution, and premium models tend to have HDMI 2.1 bandwidth to take full advantage of modern graphics cards or gaming consoles. Even mid-range and budget options are versatile for different uses, like gaming and work.

When looking for a 32-inch monitor, it's important to consider your budget and what you need the display for, like if you want something simple or prefer the latest premium options. If you want a gaming display, having a fast response time and low input lag help result in a responsive gaming experience. There's no perfect solution for everyone, but understanding what options are available is a good place to start.

We've bought and tested over 305 monitors, and below, you'll find our top picks for the best monitors available in a 32-inch size. If you're interested in other sizes, see our recommendations for the best 24-25 inch monitors, the best 27-inch monitors, and the best 34-49 inch monitors.

  1. Best 32-Inch Monitor

The best 32-inch monitor we've tested is the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 S32BG85. It's an excellent high-end monitor with many gaming features. Its 4k resolution lets you see a ton of details, and the 240Hz refresh rate makes it ideal for gaming at high refresh rates. Also, its excellent response time makes motion look crisp, which is ideal for games with fast-moving objects.

Even if you want something for more than just gaming, the Neo G8 delivers a great HDR experience. It has a good native contrast ratio, and its Mini LED local dimming feature helps further improve the contrast and picture quality in dark scenes. This means that blacks look deep in dark rooms, and the monitor also has decent HDR peak brightness to make the highlights stand out. If you want something with even better picture quality, you can also check out the Dell Alienware AW3225QF. It has a QD-OLED panel with deeper blacks and brighter highlights, but because it risks burn-in, it isn't ideal for everyday use, like productivity, so the Samsung is the better choice for that.

  2. Best Mid-Range 32-Inch Monitor

If you don't care much about getting something with the best picture quality but still want excellent gaming performance at a cheaper price, consider the Gigabyte M32U. It's a step down from the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 S32BG85 in terms of picture quality because it has a much lower contrast ratio, meaning it's worse to use in dark rooms. It also has a lower 144Hz refresh rate, but this makes little difference if your graphics card can't take advantage of the Samsung model's 240Hz refresh rate anyway. In terms of gaming, it has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth that lets you take full advantage of gaming consoles and modern graphics cards, and it also has a high 4k resolution that results in sharp text and detailed images.

It has different features than the Samsung monitor, making it versatile for gaming and other uses, like if you want something for work and play. For example, its KVM switch makes it easy to use the same keyboard and mouse with two different computers connected to the monitor. It also has a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, but with only 15W of power delivery, it isn't enough to charge your laptop while using it.

  3. Best Lower Mid-Range 32-Inch Monitor

You can save even more money by getting something with a 1440p resolution, which is useful if you don't want a 4k monitor like the Gigabyte M32U, and the LG 32GP850-B is another good option. As it has a lower pixel density than the Gigabyte, images look less sharp and detailed. However, it's still an excellent gaming monitor with remarkable motion handling and a backlight strobing feature to reduce persistence blur. You can also overclock its 165Hz refresh rate to 180Hz, but only with a DisplayPort connection, as it's limited to a 144Hz refresh rate over HDMI.

Unlike the Gigabyte, it doesn't have HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, so it can't take full advantage of gaming consoles or modern graphics cards, but that's the case with most 1440p monitors anyways. Besides its gaming performance, it's good for everyday use as it has great reflection handling and high SDR peak brightness, enough to fight glare in a well-lit room. It also has wide viewing angles that keep the image consistent from the sides, which is great if you want to share the screen with a friend next to you.

  4. Best Budget 32-Inch Monitor

If you're looking for a 32-inch monitor on a budget, there are a few good options, but you'll have to sacrifice performance. A monitor like the LG 32GN650-B is decent overall, and you can also find it as the 32GN63T-B at different retailers, as both variants perform the same. Sadly, it's a step down from the LG 32GP850-B as it doesn't get as bright and has worse motion handling, but it still has a 165Hz refresh rate, and it's great if you want an entry-level gaming monitor. It also has features you'd expect to find in most gaming monitors, like FreeSync VRR and G-SYNC compatibility.

One difference with the 32GP850-B is that the 32GN650-B has a different panel type, resulting in a higher native contrast for deeper blacks. However, it also has worse viewing angles, so the edges of the screen look washed out if you sit close or share your screen with a friend. It also has a lower 1440p resolution, so if you want something with a higher 4k resolution for sharper text, check out the Dell S3221QS. It's a good entry-level budget monitor for work, but it doesn't have a high refresh rate for gaming.

Notable Mentions

  • LG 32GR93U-B: The LG 32GR93U-B is a cheaper alternative to the Gigabyte M32U that has better gaming performance with a faster response time and higher HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, but it has fewer features for office work, as it lacks a USB-C port and KVM switch. See our review
  • Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 S32BG75: The Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 S32BG75 is a step-down model from the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 S32BG85 with many of the same features and performance, but it has a lower 165Hz refresh rate. It's still a good choice if you don't need such a high refresh rate and want something a bit cheaper. See our review
  • Dell U3223QE: The Dell U3223QE is a productivity monitor with a bigger USB hub and more work-related features than the Gigabyte M32U. However, it doesn't have gaming features and costs more, so unless you need something only for work, it isn't worth considering over the Gigabyte. See our review
