The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 is an all-in-one supertank inkjet printer. Our Verdict
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 is great for home use. It has wide connectivity options, so every household member can easily access the printer, and it doesn't cost much to maintain due to its high page yields and cheap replacement ink. It produces good quality documents, although it's a little slow to print color documents and photos. Unfortunately, while printed photos look detailed, they also look grainy and not very color-accurate. Also, the scanner has a hard time capturing fine details, which isn't ideal for digitizing photos.

It produces sharp documents, prints fairly quickly overall, and yields thousands of pages from a single set of ink, making it incredibly cheap to maintain. The scanner is equipped with an automatic feeder, and its lid hinges can extend to accommodate thicker items like textbooks, although the scan quality is only okay, as it has trouble capturing fine details.

Compared To Other Printers
The Epson ET-15000 is a very good printer with a remarkably high page yield, just like most Epson EcoTank printers. However, it's only a slight upgrade over the cheaper Epson EcoTank ET-4760, and if you don't need to print on tabloid-sized paper, it's not worth the extra cost.

The Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 is better than the Epson EcoTank ET-15000. The ET-8550 produces significantly higher-quality documents and photos, and it prints a little faster overall. The ET-8550 also produces higher-quality scans, but unlike the ET-15000, it lacks an automatic document feeder. Regarding the cost per print, the ET-15000 yields more prints, and its replacement ink is cheaper, so it costs less to maintain over time than the ET-8550.
The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850 and the Epson EcoTank ET-15000 are all-in-one color inkjet printers with supertanks, but the ET-5850 is better for small or home offices. The ET-5850's ADF supports duplex scanning, it has a much larger input tray capacity, and it prints significantly faster. On the other hand, the ET-15000 can print on wide tabloid-format paper for specialty prints, and it has much better page yields and cost-per-print.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 and the Epson EcoTank ET-2850 are both supertank printers. The ET-15000 has an automatic document feeder for quicker scanning, built-in fax capabilities, and an Ethernet port if you want to plug it directly into your computer, so it's a better option if you need these features for your office. It also prints much faster, and its paper tray holds more paper. On the other hand, the ET-2850 has a much higher black page yield, and its color page yield is only slightly lower than the ET-15000, so it doesn't make a drastic difference in cost-per-print.
The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5180 and the Epson EcoTank ET-15000 are very similar supertank all-in-one printers. The main differences are that the ET-5180 has higher page yields, better color accuracy, and duplex scanning capability (manual). Although both printers have a low cost per print, the ET-15000 does end up costing less because the replacement ink is cheaper.
The Canon PIXMA G7020 and the Epson EcoTank ET-15000 are very similar overall. The Canon has slightly better print quality, but it's slower to print, and unlike the Epson, it only supports up to 8.5" x 11" paper, whereas the Epson can print on paper up to 13" x 19". The Epson yields more black prints, while the Canon yields more color prints.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 is slightly better than the Epson EcoTank ET-2760. The ET-15000 produces higher-quality black-and-white documents and scans, and it prints faster overall. For photos, it can produce a wider range of colors than the ET-2760, but the ET-2760 can produce finer details. The ET-2760 has fewer scanner features, as it lacks an automatic feeder and extendable hinges.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 is better overall than the Epson EcoTank ET-2720. The ET-15000 is better built, has a sheetfed scanner, and prints pages much faster. It also has an Ethernet port and can print tabloid-sized paper. However, the ET-2720 produces slightly better quality documents, and while it isn't as color-accurate as the ET-15000, it can produce a wider range of colors and more details in photos.
The Epson EcoTank ET-3760 and the Epson EcoTank ET-15000 are very similar overall. The ET-3760 produces slightly higher-quality documents and scans, but unlike the ET-15000, it only supports paper size up to 8.5" x 11", whereas the ET-15000 is a wide format printer that can print on paper up to 13" x 19".
Test Results
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 feels well-built and sturdy, and it has a removable power cable in case you need to replace it. The design allows you to see the ink levels easily from the front, which is very important, as low ink levels or emptying the ink tank can introduce air bubbles into the tubes, damaging the printer. The scanner lid stays up on its own, but its hinges don't extend enough to place thicker items like books. Refilling the input tray is a little annoying because the output tray is in the way, and you need to properly align the paper in the tray; otherwise, the printer won't detect it.
The Epson ET-15000 is a bulky printer that takes up a good amount of space on a desk, and it's quite heavy.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 doesn't require much maintenance. Like most inkjet printers, the printheads can clog if you don't print anything for a long time. If you experience clogging or other print quality issues, there are a few maintenance functions built in that can help resolve them, like printhead cleaning, power cleaning, printhead alignment, and paper guide cleaning. As for ink maintenance, you won't have to do it too often since a full tank yields a large number of prints. When it needs a refill, the ink tanks are easily accessible from the front of the printer. For paper jams, you can access the sheet rollers through a panel on the back of the printer or by lifting the top of the scanner, although space is very limited if you go through the top. You can't fully remove the input tray, but there's enough space to reach in and pull out any jammed paper.

The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 has a good display. The screen tilts vertically, so it's easy to see whether you're sitting or sitting. However, it's hard to see it from the side. There are physical buttons on either side of the display for the Home and Info buttons. The menu is a bit laggy when going back to the home page, but other than that, it feels responsive.
The Epson ET-15000 has a remarkable supertank system. Like any of Epson's EcoTank printers, it uses four ink tanks that yield a large number of prints. You won't need to worry about refilling the ink tanks for a while.
While you can technically fill the ink tanks with any third-party ink, we didn't try it and don't recommend it. Low-quality ink can damage the printheads, and unlike standard inkjet printers, you can't remove the ink from the printer if there's a problem.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 has decent scanning features. It has an automatic feeder, making it easier to scan multiple pages in a row, and its lid hinges can extend to accommodate thicker items like textbooks. It doesn't support duplex scanning, so you need to manually flip pages when scanning double-sided documents. The scan quality is okay. The scanner boosts the contrast slightly to make text easier to see, and the colors look good, but it has trouble capturing finer details, which isn't ideal for digitizing photos.

The print quality for black-and-white documents is decent. Text looks sharp and fine elements look clear; however, there's some misalignment and banding. These issues aren't present when printing in the 'High-Quality' setting, as you can see here, but keep in mind that printing in 'High-Quality' mode uses more ink and takes longer to print.
The print quality for color documents is good. The text looks clear, and most of the finer elements are present. However, some vertical lines are noticeable in colored areas, and the colors look a little washed out.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 has an extremely low cost-per-print. Due to its remarkably high page yields and cheap replacement ink, it doesn't cost much to maintain over time.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 prints black-and-white pages fairly quickly, but it's on the slower side with color documents. It can automatically print double-sided; however, some larger paper, like tabloid (11" x 17"), need to be turned over manually. The 270-sheet input tray capacity includes the main 250-sheet input tray and the rear input tray, which holds 20 sheets.
This printer can print tabloid-size paper using the rear input tray. The front input tray extends to hold one larger-size paper at a time, such as a legal-size paper. You can set custom sizes from 2.13" x 3.39" to 12.95" x 47.24". Setting a custom size allows you to print on A5-sized paper.
This printer has a great color gamut. It reproduces bright, saturated tones well, particularly blue, yellow, and red. However, it struggles with darker shades of green and yellow. Color transitions look smooth, with no visible banding, but everything looks very grainy.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 has poor color accuracy. Most colors look different from the original, especially greens and blues. Photos of faces don't look unnatural, just very warm. Unfortunately, the pictures also look very grainy.
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 is excellent at reproducing small details. The only issue is that the halftones (dot effect) make edges look softer and distant objects less visible.
The Epson iPrint app is fantastic. It allows you to print, scan, and perform maintenance tasks directly from your phone. If you need to print a Microsoft Office or TXT file, the app first converts them through Google Drive into a PDF before printing. If your phone doesn't have Google Drive installed, you may get a message indicating that the document might not be displayed or printed correctly, but it still prints the document without any issues.
