Hi My PS5 reports that 1440p is not supported on my 82in nu8000. I’m using the PS5 HDMI cable. I was hoping the might see vrr and 1440p at 120hz, Disappointed. How did you achieve 1440p in your testing ? Thx

    I just got this working yesterday myself after way too much effort and fumbling around.

    To get VRR working with PS5, while connected to the PS5 and in Game Mode on the TV, in your TV do the following and set FreeSync to “Ultimate”.

    Settings-> General-> Game Mode Settings-> FreeSync

    Then in your PS5 do the following and set VRR to Automatic.

    Settings-> Screen and Video-> VRR

    To get 1440p working with your PS5 you probably have to deal with the PS5’s poorly designed 1440p test. In the PS5 settings, on the same page you set the VRR you can run the “Test 1440p Output”.

    When you do though, know this. The PS5 is going to test 1440p / 60hz SDR first and since this TV doesn’t support 60hz @ 1440p you won’t really see anything until it’s done and it tells you that your TV doesn’t support it. However, on the screen that you can’t see there’s actually the option to run the next test which will (eventually) get you to the 1440p / 120hz test, and your TV should pass that one.

    To trigger it, while your staring at the black screen after starting the test you need to press right on your Dpad and then X. I think you need to do this a couple times as there an SD and an HD test for 60hz. Once you do right on the Dpad and X a couple times though you should see your screen come back asking if you can see this. Click yes and 1440p should start working with the PS5 (in compatible games).

    Hope that helps, as I know I wish I found something to walk me through it better when I was trying to set these up, haha.

    Thanks for this. i tried this a couple of times, it does get u past the failed screen. It also unfortunately left my PS5 not displaying anything, tv say 720x480 60i not supported and even after restarting it’s not displaying. Will look again tomorrow. Horribly implemented unfortunately

    Reset and retryed several times, even when the test is successful and u select 1440p, the PS5 displays in 720x480 60i which mandates a PS5 reset, will wait until Sony fix 👍

    Damn that sucks. I’ve got the 65" version of the TV and have the 1440p/120hz working good with the PS5. I had to turn the VRR off for now though as for some games it just randomly turns the screen black for a full second every once in a while in the middle of playing (was doing it at least a couple times a minute at one point). Noticed it on Borderlands 3 and some other game too.

    Hope you get it working eventually and hope Sony improves the ease of use too.
