Excited to see how this compares to other gaming mice in 2023

    Me too!

Found the original Superlight felt a bit sloppy on wireless tracking. I’m hoping with the new Sensor Latency test we’ll see an improvement with 2khz reporting with the new model.. Would love to see this line up with The Razer Viper Mini Signature but I have a feeling this will test a bit slower at 2khz.

I’m excited to see how the hybrid mechanical-optical switches affect latency. They have hybrid and optical-only modes which should be interesting to see how they differ in performance.

I hadn’t noticed there was already a thread for the superlight. My bad. I’ll copy my message from the other thread here.

So I got the Superlight 2 yesterday, and after playing with it for a few hours I have two observations.

    • The mouse comes with a new, bigger dongle that does not match the color of the mouse. I’m assuming it’s what makes it capable of supporting 2k poll rate. The mouse while wired however can only support a 1k poll rate. I don’t think anyone will mind it but I think it’s something they’ll likely change in a future firmware update.

    • Logitech mentions in their website that the mouse has optomechanical lightforce switches. G-Hub shows the switches have the option to toggle between a “hybrid (power saving)” mode and a “optical only” mode. This makes me think that this is indeed a fully optomechanical switch that’s capable of actuating based on EITHER an electrical contact or an optical signal like traditional optical switches do. If so this, would make the mouse unique in the market and it’d be interesting to see data on how the two modes impact performance.

Overall the mouse feels nice to hold and the scroll wheel is quieter than the G502 x and G305. The buttons feel very similar to the older lightforce switches. I like it, I think its going to be a solid option for those that are looking for a mouse with that shape.

Seeing as that most reviewers on YouTube have mentioned (at least initially) that the clicks are heavier. Would it be possible to do a test to see the amount of force necessary to actuate the clicks?

I would like to see latency measurements at both 1000Hz and 2000Hz polling rates. The reason is that the 2000Hz mode has a significant impact on battery life and I want to know if disabling it will have any detrimental affect in competitive games.

This is a huge issue for such a premium mouse. Right now the superlight 1 outshines almost every aspect of SL2, except the USB-C connection type ;)

Can you change SL2 mouse settings (DPI/etc) using the Onboard Memory Manager software or do you NEED the G Hub software? https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/15235287874455-Download-G-PRO-X-SUPERLIGHT-2-Lightspeed-Gaming-Mouse

Not possible. Click heaviness changes drastically with time / use and sample variation

People really like to confirm their biases by looking at a review and focusing on one issue. SRAV results are just slightly less good than before. I would highly assume that even this can be adjusted to as the difference in accuracy is consistent. All other aspects of the mouse are better than the previous generation. Less click latency, more reliable clicks, less sensor latency, better sensor accuracy in some aspects.

Hi Rtings! , I’ve noticed you guys using beagle 480 protocol analyzer in mouse testing. And I got a question in this. Does it support above-1,000Hz setting like windows? Does it communicate device under test(the mouse) correctly at maximum polling rate?

    I’d appreciate your answer!

just one thing - 2000hz polling rate kills previous ver.

is there been an software update to the sensor to address the CPI error? is there any motion to retest the CPI ? since black friday the price has dropped here and i would consider upgrading if the sensor was more precise then the ultralight 1

  27. Update: We’ve converted this review to Test Bench 1.5. This update adds a new Main Button test group, which provides button actuation data and switch information. We’ve also made minor changes to how we calculate the Office usage score. For more details, you can see our full changelog here.

Hey Chris007! I grabbed our unit so I can look into this for you, and it seems like they haven’t push any updates to this mouse yet. I can confirm that the latest Firmware is the same Firmware we tested initially (FW: 32.0.12).

Thank you for reaching out! and I hope this information helps you out.

the difference in the CPI error isn’t that bad. You most likely wont even notice it compared to the original superlight. The lower click latency is great and the higher polling rate. Im waiting for it to go on sale. Ill be buying it myself.

  31. Update: We’ve updated the CPI graph displayed in the Sensor Latency section of this review. Our results remain the same, but these graphs have two new columns with results from the Delay At Half Movement and Delay To End Of Movement tests.

I’m wondering… will they (logitech) trying to improve SRAV to more accurate 0 trough updates or it’s not possible bc of the hardware ?

When i see these SRAV differences between sl1 and sl2 i can not force myself to change the mouse (i’m on sl1 atm)

    Hey there!

While we can’t say for sure what Logitech is capable of doing in this situation, it’s entirely possible future firmware updates could improve performance.

To be clear, this mouse is a top-tier wireless gaming option, and these minor SRAV imperfections won’t be noticeable in-game and are extremely unlikely to meaningfully impact gaming performance for most people, so we’d certainly still recommend this mouse to anyone interested in it.

That said, for those who already have an original Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT like yourself, we don’t generally feel the new version justifies an upgrade, given its current performance.

But to reiterate, we’ll be on the lookout for any indication from Logitech or the community with any future firmware updates that might increase performance so we can run a retest ourselves and update our review if necessary.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out.

Could you please measure the sensor latency of this mouse at 500, 1khz at 400DPI?

Hello Rumad, We’ve already measured and published the data for this mouse configured at a 1000 Hz polling rate, including when set to 400 CPI. Sensor latency data (1000Hz, 400 DPI): Delay To Start Of Movement: 12.4 ms Delay At Half Movement: 2.0 ms Delay To End Of Movement: 0.9 ms

We currently do not plan to start testing mice at lower polling rates. However, I will convey your suggestion/request to the test development team. If there is sufficient demand, we may consider incorporating it into our next test bench.

I’m hoping we see a before and after update comparison of the current 1000 and 2000Hz options as well. Maybe improvements or maybe the same, worst case the update makes those options worse

I’ve noticed something worrying on the new 4000Hz-enabled firmware — there seems to be at least 7ms of click latency! This is based on my own testing which isn’t extremely solid - I’m using a 960fps slow mo camera and counting frames for click to photon latency. But I’m consistently seeing a much higher latency than expected — in cs2, overwatch 2 and aperturegrille’s “black to white” latency testing program, I am consistently seeing 6-9ms of additional latency when firing via the mouse vs firing via my keyboard (Wooting two HE). I don’t think this was an issue before! Is this something you could double check?

By the way, I tried on 1000Hz mode and 4000Hz mode, and the behavior didn’t change.
