Is TCL q651g (US) and TCL C61b (asia) are same TV ?
Hi there! The TCL Q651G and TCL C61B are actually different models. TCL often releases region-specific versions of their TVs, which can differ significantly in terms of design, features, and performance. Since we at RTINGS.com are based in North America, we’re currently unable to test the TCL C61B. Our reviews are focused on the models available in the North American market, like the Q651G. Have a good one !
Hey thanks alot for the information. Can you guys please ask TCL about which model they match with TCL c61b (asia) model in North America. Just want to know if this model is available on North America so I can wait for your review :).

Between the Q651G 55’ 2024 and the Hisense U6H 2022
at the same price (290$) which is better?
I am going to connect the tv to my pc to use it as a monitor
Which one has less lag to use the mause?
which of the 2 has a better panel?
which one has the lowest minimum brightness?
I’m going to read scores and I don’t want to tire my eyes, and I’m going to watch netflix and UFC

in a sustained 100% window in HDR:
compared to the Q650G, the Q651G is dimmer by about 26%/130 nits.
compared to the Q750G, the Q651G is about 35%/200 nits dimmer.
Is it possible that other units and screen sizes can be brighter, or is this a standard for all units?
Also, is it normal for the TV to feel quite hot on the back metal with the backlight all the way up?
So yah I tried the 55q651g and 50q651g, When I output my pc (1070ti) 1080p/1440p/4k them both had lines going threw almost all text plus ghosting on the text, most icon hand artifact flicker around edges even the back ground had artifacts. Mouse Curser artifacts around edge and ghosting. all this was high visable in FF and trying to look read text.
Tired all my hdmi cables tried all hdmi ports on BOTH the 50 and 55 inch issue remained tried RGB and 4:2:2 threw 4:4:4 in nvcp didnt fix the issue. Tried reinstall drivers 556.12 tried turn cleartype off which made text unreadable. didnt make difference for artifact around icon and ghosting and wallpaper it self have artifacts. Pure black/Red/Green/White look fine and most game look ok but notice issue in there too. hooked back up the 55s515 and no issue with pc image on the tv.
Never got VRR to work on PC maybe (1070ti) dont support VRR threw hdmi though I swear last monitor I got VRR worked on both DP and HDMI before I sent it back. Made sure I had most update software for TV either it software glitch they not where or this model of tv and panel dont like my 1070ti.
Dish and PS5 look fine too me though honestly I think the image quality was worse then my 55s515 (that I was trying to replace cause it has 1 ½ inch worth lines in bottom corner and grow up from there) and i cant see how the The
“TV uses a KSF phosphor coating to produce red light and a quantum dot color converter to produce green light, as confirmed by the TV’s spectral power distribution (SPD).” was cause of this if it wth would anyone want do that?
TV is going back to Bestbuy and i get refund as I more annoy what is happen then 1 ½ inch lines that on the tv I was trying to replace atlest for now.

Same issue here, and I would substantially reduce its score as a PC monitor given this issue.

FWIW i’m using the 43" model as a secondary monitor for a mac and PC using kvm switch and am not having any text issues/ghosing. TV actually automatically recognizes when i’m loading up a game on steam and kicks into “gaming” mode. Can’t comment on the issues others have experienced but i’m thoroughly impressed and very satisfied for the price compared to my 5 year old 32" dell . Only issue i’ve noticed is that the TV automatically turns off when I put either computer to sleep so I have to turn back on when switching devices. Not a big deal for me, remote is always on my desktop.

Update: Added a link to our new Best Google TVs recommendation article in the Compared To Other TVs section of this review.
I have 43Q651G. Using streaming apps like disney+ both on PC or an external google chromecast, natural cinema causes ghosting artifacts on any 60p container (easily noticed with cartoons/anime). It doesn’t happen on native apps but I notice this site says natural cinema should work for any source. Mine clearly doesn’t.
I’m having and issue with PC Mode that’s different from having bgr subpixel, lines going through text, etc. I am getting some extreme over sharpening when ever I use a PC over hdmi. I’ve tried different PCs, different cables, I can’t find any sharpness settings in the menu when in PC Mode. I have an older TCL 55r625 and it does not have this over sharpening problem. I also have Samsung TV and a computer monitor, and none them exhibit this problem. Is this user error or is there no way adjust sharpness while in PC mode with HDMI input? Thanks in advance if anyone kindly responds! i have the 43 inch model 43Q651G.
Purchased to use as a monitor, text is light blue striped through and cant be fully solved with Cleartype. Which is annoying enough but thats not the worst of it.
The worst part is the screen has this weird granularity/dithering/contrast issue with colors and busy/textured scenes. Comparing the Win10 high resolution spotlight mountain photo(normalized with the same file) in Chile side by side with a TCL 43S551 (a supposedly low tier screen) the difference is stark. Even after two calibrations I cant get the colors or contrast right or the hillsides to not look almost artifacted and weirdly blown out, browns showing up as black. There is also a bit of a flicker to it that doesn’t exist on the S551. Its appearent in the above scenes but especially so if you look at lines of light colored text on a dark background, the text around where you’re looking ‘dances’ around. There’s some sort of subpixel judder or low hz backlight flickering that you cant get rid of.
It’s almost like there’s some sort of processing going on but the picture settings are extremely limited in the menus, especially in Game or PC mode. Tried different HDMI cables, swapped sources between the sets. I’ve been round and round with settings to no avail with this thing and will be returning it for the S551.
I bought this set with high hopes and really wanted it to be good, because it looked so good on paper for the money, but the 43S551 is a MUCH better monitor by a long shot, for less money. Long term use of this set as a monitor would cause serious eye strain. It’s high rating as a PC monitor on Rtings needs to be reevaluated.
I have comparative photos between the two screens but cant post here.

I think I have the same issue as you above. Its definitely this screen. Comparing it back to back same source as a S551 its extremely apparent, I’ve tried everything to solve it and there’s nothing I could do. Blacks sections surrounded by browns in the source easily decipherable on other screens show up as just black blotches on this Q651.
Definitely a terrible screen to use as a monitor, I highly recommend sending it back and grabbing the S551.
I turned Game Master on but I can’t seem to change the fps at 1080p/1440p to 120hz on my PC. VRR is on in Windows and GPU drivers, VSync is off, and the Game Master overlay has HDR, ALLM, and VRR on, but FPS is always capped at 60 regardless of resolution.

No issues with text at all though
I was able to do it by creating a new resolution mode for the monitor, but the results were extremely unsatisfying.

Update: We converted the review to Test Bench 2.0. With this new methodology, we’ve added new tests to expand the scope of our testing, adjusted our scoring to better align with current market conditions, and added performance usages that group related tests together to give more insight into specific aspects of a TV’s performance. how do i see the history of the ratings? what was this product rated in v1.11?

It was 7.3 using the previous methodology, which is a very decent score. I have them because i based my purchase on these scores:
6.8 tv shows
6.8 sports
7.7 video games
7.4 hdr movies
7.8 hdr gaming
7.7 pc monitor
Rtings did not update many of the other scores, so it is very misleading when you check their tvs adevertised and many have 7/10…but based on the old methodology, when in fact the q651g is better than them. I have the c655 and i believe it is pretty equivalent, its a good tv, comes with a subwoofer and nice eye care blue light filter feature i think the new methodology is very harsh and too much emphasis on brightness and black levels
It is a bit confusing to compare tvs using all the methodologies, but 7.3 to 5.9 is a huge gap
I picked up the 43" model a few months back on sale for my bedroom. I’ve got my Xbox Series S hooked up to it and don’t have any issues/qualms with it. Maybe if I was comparing it to something high-end I’d see a difference, but afaic it’s perfectly fine. (I use it to play CoD and watch YT primarily.) For a fuzz over $200, it’s hard pressed to be beat.

Update: Converted to Test Bench 2.0.1. We did this to fix an issue with our scoring in the Supported Resolutions section, since TVs with a refresh rate higher than 144Hz were being penalized for not supporting 144Hz.
WARNING: do not get this for use as a PC monitor. I was misled by RTINGS and I’m very disappointed. They said it was the best budget TV to use as a monitor, and after all my research I was convinced. But nobody anywhere explained that the TV has ugly sharpening and small artifacts in text that can’t be removed with any setting. It happens in PC mode and every other mode. In fact, the sharpening in the picture settings has no effect in any mode. What a shame, because I’m sure it would just be a matter of fixing the firmware. I will have to return it.

The 43 inch model has lines through text. Not acceptable at all for a PC monitor…

Good day,
Is this set equivalent to the C655A we get here in Jamaica and Latin America? I am very very curious to know.
Thanks
No, sorry, our review is only valid for the U.S. and Canadian models.
