This does vary between units so if you send us a photo of a 50% gray slide on your TV then we can let you know how it compares to the average and if you’re likely to benefit from an exchange. Overall the Sony is a bit better TV, but it is mostly due to the better reflection handling if you’re in a bright room. Our X900F has better gray uniformity, but this does vary between units. Whether it is worth spending more depends on what you care about.
Thanks! How do you run a gray slide test?
Thanks a lot for all the feedback! Which set would you recommend under the $1,000 price point based upon the above? I stayed away from the Samsung Q6 49 inch set as a true 120 hz refresh rate was important to me. Also, it appears that you have to upgrade to the Q8 to get full array back lighting as the Q6 and Q7 are edge lit displays? Does the Samsung quality overcome that issue?
The Dolby Vision issues aside for the X900F, it appears that would be the way to go if I can find it for a couple hundred more?
