So I have it almost 4 months and I like it. In bright or dark room it looks bright enough. Very responsive UI, no issues. PS5 gaming very responsive VRR, ALLM all looking good! It’s my first OLED and when I saw difference between bezel sizes I was scared and then I figured out that this is pixel shifting) If you switch that function off bezels are similar) but I left it on) during day it shifts to different sides 😁 Overall i love it for watching movies on platforms and files from local network. Watching YouTube and playing games) it’s enough ports for me, i output sound via optical. Remote control I also like it comes with backlight) and I switched off motionflow right away 😁
We don’t use the same setting for each TV. We check multiple modes to make sure we’re choosing the best one. In this case, while FMM is very accurate, the Professional picture mode is slightly better out of the box.
I’m using on my Bravia 8 65 Professional mode because it’s better looking for my eyes. But i see some gradients on YouTube. But I think it is normal?
Bought Bravia 8 65. It was a discount -35%. In Kazakhstan it was the same price as G4 and S90D, so I decided it’s even cheaper and has everything built in. For G4 and S90D you need to buy Nvidia Shield Google TV and for LG drill holes in the wall. And Samsung does not support Dolby Vision and I download movies in this. So for me I think it’s good. Anyone agree? I’m happy with choice recently
$1400 for the 55-inch BRAVIA 8 is a decent price, but you can currently get the 55-inch LG C4 for $1300, and the C4 is the better TV overall.
Why is it better overall? I think it’s a matter of taste. LG C4 is not any good for me. It has terminal flaws compared to Bravia 8. And also your tests and tests on other sites are differ. There are bunch of tests where Sony scores better than here. So you can’t confidently say it’s 100% better. A lot of people don’t need that green tint on angle, 4x 2.1 hdmi ports and webos. Only on PC usage I agree. It’s better for PC owners.
In USA it’s only 1400$ now for 55 inch. RTINGs do you consider this is cheaper than closest competition? Now it’s more attractive than LG? 😁👌🏽 But in Kazakhstan its still 2950$ 😱😱😱
Hey there! The BRAVIA 7 and the BRAVIA 9 perform the exact same way in terms of upscaling and low-quality content smoothing, but the writing is a bit different since the reviews were written by different people. Thanks.
Hello, I have the 77 A80L and Bravia 8 77 side by side. One thing that is clear. A80L, while dimmer, appears to provide a better picture. Which is odd. A80L handled game of thrones (HotD) last night very well. The Bravia 8 was very Samsung like. Artifacts flying around the area where hair would be on a head lol. Think daemons golden hair.
The Bravia 8 will undoubtedly be going back.
Someone confirm, it doesn’t look like true case, maybe some settings are different
Are you able to confirm if it has a more glossy screen? The A80L had a more matte screen where any reflection was more spread out and I was wondering if Sony changed this.
Yep this is very interesting. Most interesting is how it handles reflections and how much brighter it is
There are movies that are mastered at 2 3, and 4,000 nits…there are discs with 10,000 nits.
LOTS of games at 4,000 nits. Now that Sony’s newest mastering monitor 3110 is available and being used more and more directors/cinematographer/etc. are seeing what Rec 2020, 4,000 nits and HDR can really do. Word is James Camereon changed things on his recent 4K discs after seeing the movies on that Mastering monitor. It also has a real-time waveform display to show what is going on…and how much more headroom they now have!!
Good luck
Don’t have other devices near me at the moment , however I put the same Youtube clip 4k60fps sdr on both the TV built in Youtube app and through PC HDMI using the exact same settings , I have no doubt in my mind that on PC the highlights are absolutely overblown when “auto local dimming” and/or “peak luminous ” enabled .
on PC HDR however , it’s absolutely magnificent , easily the best I have ever seen .
On built in YouTube everything is perfect as I understand?
I just got the bravia 7 55 inch version , I have to say something is seriously wrong in sdr. the highlights in sdr are way over blown even if “auto local dimming” or “peak luminous ” are set to low , I tried low , med or high combination between the two . the only way to get somewhat acceptable picture is to lower contrast value from 90 all the way down to 48 and to set the brightness value to 40 .
This is way different behavior than what I’m accustomed to with x950g , x950H or X90J . I have seen some reported issues with nvidia cards (I got RTX3080) but I never got any issue with the mentioned previous sony models
The issue persist in any mode even if the source is set to PC
If you folks got PC with RTX3000/4000 please investigate
edit : forgot to mention, it doesn’t matter when I change “output color format” in nvidia control panel . “RGB” , “YCbCr 420” or “YCbCr 444” all behave similarly. VRR is enabled (if you don’t enable VRR , you get weird artifacts and slow ups)
Only with PC connected? Other modes are okay? Because that may be windows bug
I am trying to decide between the Sony A80L and Bravia 7. And maybe the LG G3 however I really want a Sony TV for the processing, upscaling and chromecast built in and Google TV OS. Need to know if the Bravia 7 will score higher than the A80L or not.
Why not Bravia 8? I considered to buy A80L but now I’m waiting for reviews of Bravia 7 and 8. For me LG and Samsung is not even an option because of OS. I think I want Bravia 8 just for now. But we’ll see 🤔
So no one is writing in this topic because everything is fine or there are not a lot of us using this model?

wowowow! need a review and tests! that’s big!

Oh i want a review of this legendary router
i think it is almost similar to ax73 so interesting to see how it performs, and what it has to offer pricewise

In Kazakhstan 55 inch Bravia 8 sells for 2950$. Nonsence!
Is it personal preference sometimes in reviews.
I heard that not. But there are a lot of dongles) tplink ue300 for example. It works with any android tvs starting from android 10
Still not available in my country 🤷🏻♂️ waiting for it badly
Is it best oled for the money with Google TV?
Someone confirm, it doesn’t look like true case, maybe some settings are different
Is it best choice if it costs the same as directs rivals: lg and samsung in my country? Maybe even a bit cheaper
Yep this is very interesting. Most interesting is how it handles reflections and how much brighter it is
And burn eyes out 🤣🤣🤣
Bravia 9 is available now at amazon
Bravia 8 is available now at amazon

Let’s vote for Bravia 8 now please! I’m choosing between 7 and 8. Need both to be reviewed ❤️ price difference is not that big
I think it won’t be available in my region. So i’m waiting for Bravia 8

Waiting for this one also, to choose between Bravia 7 and 8 ❤️
Oh I want this review) and Bravia 8. At summer will decide which of those to buy.
