The nutribullet Triple Prep System is a combo food processor and full-size blender. It includes a 64oz main pitcher for blending multiple batches, 24oz and 32oz personal jars for single-serve drinks, and a separate food processor bowl for chopping and slicing. It has a similar design to the nutribullet Smart Touch Blender Combo, with a digital display and different blending programs depending on what jar you're using. It can hot blend, and unlike some nutribullet blenders, you can use it for crushing ice.

Our Verdict

8.4 Multi-Purpose

The nutribullet Triple Prep System is great for multi-purpose use. Its different jars and blades are good for different purposes: a 64-ounce jar for big batches, 24-ounce and 32-ounce personal jars for single-serve drinks, and a food processor bowl for chopping. In either blending jar, it makes a very smooth blend with fibrous ingredients, which is important for well-blended smoothies and soups. You can hot blend in the main pitcher, and it's also a fantastic ice crusher.

Pros
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
  • Makes snow-like crushed ice.
  • Hot blends.
  • Great build quality.
Cons
  • Somewhat loud.
9.1 Smoothies (Single Serving)

The nutribullet Triple Prep System is fantastic for single-serve smoothies. It comes with 24-ounce and 32-ounce personal jars for blending drinks like smoothies. There's a resealable lid for each personal jar, so you can easily bring your drink on the go. It only needs one 60-second 'Smoothie' program to make a nearly perfectly smooth blend with common smoothie ingredients like leafy greens and fruits, so it's a convenient choice for all kinds of smoothie recipes.

Pros
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
  • 24oz and 32oz personal jars included.
  • Great build quality.
Cons
  • Somewhat loud.
9.2 Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

The nutribullet Triple Prep System is incredible for multiple smoothie servings. Its 64-ounce main pitcher can fit several servings in one batch. Filled to full capacity, it only needs one 50-second 'Smoothie' cycle to make a very smooth blend with fibrous ingredients like kale. It has no problem crushing ice, and the pitcher lid has a pouring spout to easily serve smoothies without spilling.

Pros
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
  • 64oz main pitcher.
  • Great build quality.
Cons
  • Somewhat loud.
9.1 Ice Crushing

The nutribullet Triple Prep System is a superb ice crusher. Using 'Pulse' mode, it easily crushes a batch of 12 ice cubes into snow-like crushed ice. The only downside is that some ice can build up under the blades. This blender also has a great build quality, which is nice if you make a lot of crushed ice or drinks like slushies.

Pros
  • Makes snow-like crushed ice.
  • Great build quality.
Cons
  • Somewhat loud.
9.4 Soups

The nutribullet Triple Prep is fantastic for soups. You can use the main 64oz pitcher to blend hot ingredients like roasted vegetables. It quickly makes a mostly smooth blend with fibrous ingredients, so it can make a very well-blended kale or broccoli soup.

Pros
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
  • Hot blends.
  • Great build quality.
Cons
  • Somewhat loud.
7.6 Professional Use

The nutribullet Triple Prep is good for professional use. It's great for blending liquidy recipes like smoothies, soups, and sauces since it makes a very smooth blend with fibrous ingredients. You can use it for hot blending and for crushing ice. However, it's not easy to use for thicker recipes like nut butter. The motor base has plastic gears, making it feel less durable than some blenders.

  1. Updated Sep 03, 2024: We've updated the results and score for nut butter. The blender's manual says not to use it for dry ingredients, and it originally scored 0. However, since the manual doesn't specifically say not to use it for nut butter, we've tested its performance and updated the score to 5.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

This blender is available in one 'Grey' variant, and you can see the label for the unit we tested here.

If you come across another variant or bundle with different accessories, let us know in the forums, and we'll update our review.

Compared To Other Blenders

The nutribullet Triple Prep System has a similar design to the nutribullet Smart Touch Blender Combo and nutribullet Blender Combo, but in addition to a 64oz main pitcher and personal jars, it comes with a food processor bowl with its own lid and blade assembly. It's ideal for fibrous smoothie ingredients, whether you're making a single serving or multiple batches. Unlike other combo food processors/blenders, like the Ninja Mega Kitchen System, you can use its main pitcher for hot blending, making it a better choice for soups and sauces.

If you're looking for a recommendation, check out the best blenders for smoothies, the best blenders, and the best nutribullet and Magic Bullet blenders.

Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System

The NutriBullet Triple Prep System and the Ninja Deluxe Kitchen System have different strengths. The NutriBullet is better for blending big batches of smoothies or soup in its main jar. You can use it for hot blending. The Ninja has a bigger capacity in both its main jar and food processor, and it's better for crushing ice and making nut butter.

Ninja Mega Kitchen System [BL770, BL770AMZ, BL771]

You might prefer either the Ninja Mega Kitchen System or the nutribullet Triple Prep System. Both are blender/food processor combos and include one 64oz pitcher, at least one personal jar, and a separate food processor bowl. You can use the nutribullet for hot blending, and it makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients faster, so you might prefer it for soups and smoothies. However, it's not easy to use for thick recipes like nut butter.

Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System

The Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System and the nutribullet Triple Prep System have different strengths. The Ninja is much better for making recipes like nut butter with its 'Smoothie Bowl Maker' jar. It includes blades for slicing, chopping, and shredding that fit into the main pitcher, so you can use it as a food processor. However, you can use the NutriBullet for hot blending. It processes fibrous ingredients more quickly, so you might prefer it for smoothies or soups. It comes with a separate food processor bowl as well.

nutribullet Blender Combo

The NutriBullet Triple Prep System is better for most purposes than the NutriBullet Blender Combo. It has a sturdier design, and you can use it to crush ice without liquid in the jar. It has more blending programs. While both blenders include a 64oz pitcher and a pair of personal jars for single serves, only the Triple Prep includes a food processing bowl.

nutribullet Smart Touch Blender Combo

The nutribullet Smart Touch Blender Combo and the nutribullet Triple Prep System are similar but come with different accessories. Both come with a 64-ounce jar and a pair of personal jars, but the Triple Prep also includes a food processing bowl with its own lid and blade assembly. Both blenders are fantastic for processing fibrous ingredients in liquid recipes like soups, smoothies, and sauces. However, only the Triple Prep can crush ice without liquid in the jar.

Braun TriForce Power Blender

The Braun TriForce Power Blender and the nutribullet Triple Prep System have different strengths. The Braun is sturdier and better for processing thicker recipes like nut butter. It has a wider variety of speed settings for different blends, and it's a better multi-purpose blender overall. The nutribullet makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients in its main jar, so it's better for big batches of smoothies. The nutribullet also comes with a food processing bowl.

Build Quality

It has a great build quality. The gears on the motor base are made of plastic, but the pitcher and personal jars' blade assemblies have metal gears. There are four feet under the motor base, including a pair of suction cups that help keep it from moving around on your counter. The plastic pitcher feels sturdy and doesn't wobble when it's sitting on the motor base. The display is bright and legible, with touch-sensitive buttons. However, the plastic surface over the buttons attracts fingerprints, so you'll have to wipe it off often if that bothers you. The food processor bowl also has plastic gears and isn't as easy to lock onto the motor base as the other jars. Overall, the blender feels well-made but doesn't stand out as particularly sturdy or premium.

The pitcher comes with a 2-part lid, so you can remove the center piece to add ingredients or use the tamper. The removable center piece is also a 2oz measuring cup. The lid also has a spout with a plastic cover, so you can pour from the pitcher without removing the lid. It doesn't have to be on the pitcher for the blender to run, so be careful not to accidentally start it without a lid.

The food processor bowl comes with a lid with a chute for adding ingredients. This lid must be locked into place before the machine will run. Finally, you get a resealable lid for each of the personal jars.

It's fantastic for blending fibrous ingredients at full capacity in the main pitcher. Once again, you get the best results with one 50-second 'Smoothie' cycle. The final result is worse than the smaller batch, but only slightly, with just a few tiny unprocessed bits left over.

Nut Butter Texture
7.0

It's not good for making nut butter. The jar's design causes ingredients to build up under the blades and on the jar's walls. It comes with a tamper, but its short size makes it not very useful, so you have to stop and scrape the sides of the jar often during the process. After around 25 minutes of work, it makes decent nut butter, but the ingredients heat up a lot, and steam builds up inside the jar.

The manual says not to use the blender for dry ingredients. While nut butter doesn't remain dry for the whole process, like spices or flour would, it's worth noting that using it for nut butter may be easier with some liquid like oil in the jar, like most blenders.

Speed Adjustment Based On Jar Type
Yes

When you're using the main pitcher or the personal jar, it has a somewhat narrow range of blending speeds. The minimum speed isn't that slow, so you don't have the option of starting at a low speed to avoid over-blending, but the maximum speed is fast, which helps with making smooth soups and smoothies. The personal jars yield the same minimum blend speed (11300 RPM) and a slightly higher max (18900 RPM).

When you're using the food processor, the blade speed is much slower. There isn't much difference between the minimum (1070 RPM) and maximum blade speed (1630 RPM), but that's expected for a food processor.

Cleaning

It's decently easy to clean. If you're working with sticky ingredients, there are ridges inside the jar that can trap food, so you need to use a sponge to clean the inside of the jar. The blades aren't removable from the jar, so you might also need a brush to reach under them.
