We’ve purchased the product and are waiting for it to arrive in our lab.
Really curious to see how good the 4k upscaling for low resolution content on this monitor will be. And also want to see if the HDR is better(even if by a little bit) on this monitor compared to its older generation version - G70B!
What’s the progress on the review of this monitor guys🥲? Does it normally takes this long for a product to arrive after purchasing it or is there some issue happening BTS?

The first time we purchased it, the order got cancelled unfortunately. So we had to re-buy it. We also purchased it from the US, so sometimes that comes with some slight delays. If all goes well, it should be delivered by end of week! Sorry about that!
The product has arrived in our lab, and our testers will start evaluating it soon.

It’s absolutely fine guys🤗 not even your fault if it got cancelled and then again the delay in receiving the product is not in your hands as well so it’s all good. Really glad to see the product has arrived in the lab now though cmonnnn🙌🔥 really eager to see how it turns out to be.
Also, could you guys check if this version of the monitor supports the HDR10+ format for hdr content on apps like Prime Video, Disney etc? Cause on the previous version (G70B which y'all have already reviewed) it did support that format but there is no info if this new version supports it as well or not.
On the official product page, it just shows that it supports HDR10+ gaming but no mention of HDR10+ support for streaming apps. Thanks for reading!
Our testers have started testing this product; is there anything specific you’re looking to see? Let us know in this thread.
Finally testing has started 😂🙌
any idea how this might compare to the neo g7? definitely trying to decide between the two since they’re at similar price points, although this guy’s 3 years newer.

With so many discounts happening right now, I’d love to see how this panel shapes up to some equally priced competitors (Neo g7, ultragear, and some 2k OLED displays) as i feel like some of its newer tech could make it a better buy

Can you guys give us a quick update about the HDR on this monitor please ? There are some good deals going on for this monitor I don’t want to miss out
I’m very interested in learning more about this monitor, especially its brightness and contrast, as well as how it performs in HDR, I have the Samsung Odyssey G65B but I’m thinking about upgrading to a 4K monitor and this could be it, however brightness and contrast are a big concern for me and a major selling point for the G65B, I know this is an IPS panel so it’s obviously not gonna have contrast as good as a VA panel, I’m just wondering if this monitor has good enough contrast that the difference is minimal, I also want to know how bright this monitor can get and how it compares to the G65B / G65D and the previous-gen G70B
Early access to our full test results is now available for Insiders! Become an insider to check it out here.
Glad I held off buying after seeing that contrast ratio. Would have thought a new IPS monitor would do better.
Why no mini-led with IPS. What’s wrong with Samsung? Let’s hope for next model to include mini-led + IPS.
Is it possible to add test case of whether each monitor have hardware solution of low blue light?
The full review has been posted here. Let us know what you think!
One of the worst results i have ever seen. Contrast, viewing angles, black uniformity, HDR brightness all bad. Why Samsung produced such a bad monitor?
It isn’t something we have any current plans to do, but we’ll keep it in mind and consider it for future updates to our testing!
Does this monitor support HDR10+ format when using the apps like Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc?
Also how does the upscaling work on this monitor for low resolution content considering it is supposed to be having a dedicated processor to help with that?
And lastly, y'all have mentioned that the 27 inch version of this monitor is very different to this monitor- could you please tell us what are these big differences between them?
Wow this monitor is pretty disappointing, the contrast is awful and color accuracy doesn’t seem great, I was considering upgrading from an Odyssey G6 but now I don’t think so, I’m probably gonna wait until OLED monitors become more affordable or buy the previous gen Odyssey G70B since it’s somehow better than the G70D in every category

Seconded, I want to know the differences between the 27 inch and 32 inch models, like is it better? Is it worse?

Hi, we don’t test for HDR10+ support or do upscaling tests as part of our suite of monitor tests. We can’t say how similar it would be to a Samsung TV in terms of upscaling performance, but we’d expect it does at least a decent job, and it’s possibly much better than that.
Other than being different sizes, the two models have very few differences in terms of their specs. Samsung’s page has more information about the 27-inch G70D. If you’d like to see it reviewed you can always vote for it.
I have an interesting observation. The left and right hand sides of the monitor have an interesting appearance, it’s hard to explain, but it almost looks a touch blurred, not a sharp line. All LCD monitors I have had have a very flat, sharp appearance. The corners of the screen are also rounded… maximise file explorer, the corner will have a slightly rounded edge. On a normal monitor the corner is dead right angle sharp. When you see it side by side it is quite obvious. Does anyone else see this? It is subtle but did stick out to me. Is this just the design of the monitor or do others also have this effect? Can’t say I love it.
Update: Added that the BenQ MOBIUZ EX321UX has a much better local dimming system.
How did you achieve such low input lag? I’ve enabled Game Mode and even tried disabling VRR Control as per Reddit suggestions, but the mouse still feels heavy no matter if I’m on HDMI or DP input at 120 Hz.
Even worse is the fact that every time I power up the displays I have to go to the home-screen and re-select the same input that I was already on, otherwise the input lag is next-level terrible.

The number in the review is with Local Dimming off, Dynamic Contrast off, VRR + VRR control off, and with Game Mode enabled. Is the monitor properly detecting the PC and labelling as such in the Home menu? As for the other issue, we were not able to recreate it. When we power the monitor off and turn it back on, it remembers the previously selected input.
Update: We’ve converted this review to Test Bench 2.1.1. We removed the Vertical Viewing Angle test.
