We’ve purchased the product and are waiting for it to arrive in our lab.
Bought three for Sim Racing so looking forward to the PC monitor review part
Do you think the review will be out before the costco sale ends (July 23)?

That’s highly unlikely unfortunately. We just bought it a few days ago, have to wait for it to be delivered, and then schedule it for testing. The review probably won’t be available until some time early august depending on shipping. Sorry about that!
We just bought this 50” TV at Costco yesterday and would like the recommended calibration. We returned the LG UR8000 55” TV because of poor picture quality and the remote. We mainly watch TV shows in SD and HD from DISH satellite receiver. We wanted to find a budget TV with good upscaling and didn’t want to spend $650 for the lowest priced Sony. I’m looking forward to your review of the A65K. Cheers!
Just got the August Costco mailer and the 75" of the A65K series will be on sale until August 27.
Really looking forward to this one. 75” at Costco will be $499.99 from August 2-27th.
I’m hoping it decent enough (better than the A6H across the board) that I can move my 65” U8G down to my theater room and put this in our main living space.
As long as viewing angle is decent, motion blur isn’t horrible, and the ratings for HDR and gaming improve, we will be in business.
The product has arrived in our lab, and our testers will start evaluating it soon.
PC monitor performance
Mostly interested in PC monitor use, the smoothness of the OS/UI, and if there’s any light bleed.
Like others mentioned, use for PC monitor, and the usual stuff like brightness and all. Also, can the device playback 4K HDR content from a USB drive connected to the TV
Just saw this at my Costco and have until 8/27 on the sale. Really looking forward to the full review and thanks for all the time and effort put into your reviews. Has really changed the way I buy electronics now!
When will the results be posted for insiders?

Hey everyone! I just wanted to mention that things are a bit busy on the TV writing side, so this review will take a bit longer to get out to everyone. We’re aiming to publish it early next week instead. In the meanwhile, something interesting we discovered while testing this TV is that it uses a PFS Phosphor coating, as you can see in this SPD, similar to the Samsung CU8000. This allows it to display a much wider color gamut than similarly-priced budget TVs.

Hello. Thank you very much for reviewing this tv. In my country there is the a7k or a75k 2023, which in its 50-inch version has a va panel, the a7k tv has the same contrast as this a6k? Greetings

Without having our own data, we can’t speak to performance. Something to keep in mind though is that our results are only applicable for North American models. Sorry about that!
I’ve seen references that the 55 and 75 inch sizes use IPS panels. Is that true or are they all VA?
Update: Added mention of the newly released TCL Q6/Q650G QLED in the Supported Resolutions section of this review.
Update: We bought and tested the TCL S4/S450G, and added relevant comparisons below.
any idea when the 43" size will be purchasable somewhere?
Hey all. I know it was asked and answered once prior, but was hoping someone could double confirm for me. Is the 55inch panel for sure a VA?
Update: We bought and tested the LG UQ7590 and added a comparison below in the Viewing Angle section.
I have a u6 55" and a a65 55" for some reason running windows 10 the text on the a65 is must less clear than on the u6. I’ve tried a lot of changes in settings. using enhanced mode for hdmi and using high speed amazon basic 4k @60hz cables. Monitor signal information shows 4k @60hz. 8 bit collor. HDR off and color primaris are BT.709. Has anyone figured how to make the text more clear? I’ve tried all 3 hdmi ports but still not as clear as my u6 hisense.

Due to the BGR layout, it means that it’s going to be blurry for applications that don’t support it when using it as a PC monitor

Like they said, BGR layout. But you can enable cleartype (I think that’s what it’s called) in Windows to fix it. There is an article on ratings on how to fix it. Found it:

Bought the 43" version and it’s by far the worst TV I’ve ever owned. Even with ethernet plugged in, it’s become astonishingly slow and buggy after just a few months, to the point of it being completely unwatchable. It crashes every time you try to open the settings menu, constantly skips/stops while streaming shows or movies, and the remote lags or moves forward more times than you’ve clicked, making it over all a very frustrating experience. I was better off with my 15 year old 720 Samsung before this.

Where did you buy the 43" size?
We’ve just released a new video featuring the Hisense A6/A65K here.

“Hello,
Are there any differences between the A6 and A65K models? The only models available in my country are from the XXA6K series, where ‘XX’ denotes the TV size in inches. I am specifically interested in purchasing the ‘43A6K’ model.”

Hello!
We actually mention this in the “compared to other variants” section of our review!
Internationally, this model is known as the Hisense A6K, but as Hisense often creates separate models for North American markets, it’s unclear how the A6K compares to the A65K.
Sorry about that!
It’s a bit misleading to test one size and then pretend the data applies to the rest of the sizes. I have a hard time believing rtings has thoroughly explored the options for at least finding out which type of panel each size uses.

In the ‘Differences Between Sizes and Variants’ section of each review, we do our best to lay out the differences between model sizes. It’s getting a bit trickier since it’s becoming a bit more common for there to be differences between sizes, especially with local dimming zones, but we always try to include information on this. If a certain size uses a different type of panel, we explicitly state that our results are not valid for that particular size. We do a lot of research on this and will update the review if we find out more information on a certain size after the review is published. With that said, it’s still most common for different sizes of the same model to have the same specs, so we feel comfortable saying our results are also valid for numerous sizes in those cases. Thanks.
