I’m looking forward to your review. I’m about to find bestbud for my ps5, I have two choices between Inzone h9 and audeze maxwell, I’v heard people said this badboy overcome many headsets in many aspects but, as far as I know h9 have (maybe)best image/decent soundstage which I like in term of 3d sound accuracy aspect, I quit curious about how maxwell can handle those function.

Apologies, if I was not clear with my query earlier. My usecase is not to get audio from both devices at the same time, I just want 2 devices to be connected and the audio from 1 device to pause while the call is answered from the 2nd device (e.g. connected to laptop via dongle and phone via BT, audio from laptop shd automatically pause when a call comes on the phone and the user shd be able to answer the call without changing any settings and then when the call ends, the audio from the laptop should resume automatically) ….Audeze have mentioned this exact case on their website and the Maxwell supports this use case.

I actually own the Audeze Maxwell’s and have been keeping up on the Audeze subreddit pretty regularly. A LOT of people are stating they are noticing a lack of bass moving from the Mobius’s/Cloud Orbitz. Which I find interesting. I find it is a must to pair Dolby Atmos and Audeze HQ together for the sound to be perfect. I know that when you guy’s originally did the testing for the Mobius’s you stated that the Bass was “overemphasized across the range” I am curious if they changed this.

Hi, sorry for the late reply to your comment but as an owner of the Maxwell I want to give you a definitive answer. I have Maxwell connected to my PC via USB dongle and connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth. I can confirm that when an alert, or any sound at all, comes from my phone it pauses the sound coming from my PC. Even the sound that plays when pressing the lock button will do this. After about a second, sound resumes from the PC connection. Hope this helps.

I’m looking forward to seeing how these fair in the comfort and commuting ratings considering that they are intended for long gaming sessions but also work with mobile and Bluetooth. The seemingly biggest few downsides of the headset are the extremely bulky size and heavy weight. Of course that contributes to outstanding sound quality. Huge thanks to the testers. Eager to see the results.

If possible, i’d like to see if or hear how good the built-in mics are vs the boom mic. I want to know if the built-in mics are a viable option in an emergency, for example i forgot the boom mic at work or similar. Looking forward to this review!

From what I’ve heard and seen on YouTube, the mic even without the boom mic is great. Apparently much better than the Nova Pro Wireless mic both left in and pulled out.

Please check the stability of the USB C Dongle because mine kept constantly dropping the connection after updating to the latest 38 firmware. I also had issues with the mic where friends would tell me that it would constantly cut out or make me sound robotic.
Headphones.com’s YouTube review mentions having issues with the dongle if it was on a busy PCIE lane as well.

According to the Audeze Maxwell webpage: “ The headsets are not cross compatible. You need to pair PS Maxwell with a PS dongle and Xbox headset with an Xbox dongle.”

I had a similar issue with the Plantronics 6200uc (which I returned) when connected simultaneously to my laptop (via the USB dongle) and phone via Bluetooth. I believe there was a setting the software/app that allowed me to turn off notifications for the headphone and if I remember correctly that had solved the issue and the headphones no longer paused the music (from the laptop) for each and every notification on the phone but the multi-point functionality continued to work as expected and the headphone automatically paused the music (from the laptop) when a call came on the phone.
Can you please check if there is any similar setting in the software/app for the Audeze Maxwell that can turn off notifications from the phone when connected via multi-point?

This headset weighs over 490g. Gaming headsets are often worn for long periods of time, so I wonder if they are comfortable to wear. Doesn’t it hurt your neck even if you use it for a long time?

The xbox version of the headset works in PC mode on PS 5, but the ps5 version does not work on xbox. it is quite heavy, but due to the wide head strap, the weight is evenly distributed and feels better than penrose c 320 gr. by sound, it feels 20-25% quieter than penrose. compatible with PSVR2.

There is not. The closest to this kind of functionality is putting iPhone on Do Not Disturb to prevent notifications while using the headset.

Sluchátka mám již dva týdny a jsou skvělé, nejlepší co jsem kdy měl. Dosah je neskutečný, signál mám i v druhém patře baráku, baterie s obrovskou vydrží, tak jak píše výrobce, ladence v rádiovém spojení není žádná, nepoznáte rozdíl po drátu a WiFi, bluetooth, nepoužívám, tak nemohu hodnotit. Zvuk je excelentní, dynamický prostě číslo jedna. Moje SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, už nepoužívám, jsou bez šance konkurovat Audeze Maxwell.

Pro PC je jedno kterou verzí máte, rozdíl je jen v tom, že pro Xbox je součástí balení i licence na software Dolby Atmos ( Dolby Acces) v hodnotě 20$. Ale na PlayStation můžete použít jen verzi PlayStation a na Xbox, jen Xbox. Je to z důvodu odlišných Dongle, kde je pro PlayStation a Xbox implementována bezpečnostní pojistka, která je za mě úplně nesmyslná, prostě konkurenční boj.

I’m so eager to see them. Reviews are one thing and have been glowing but dedicated tests can always present a more accurate picture and are much better in headphone comparisons.

Thanks for answering! It’s been a month since my arctis pro wireless (the 2019 ones) broke and I’m looking for replacements. I bought these thanks to your analysis and the truth is that I was delighted. I am looking for something, if not better, at least the same. The nova pro scores very poorly in comparison. I don’t understand how they could get a worse product than the one it replaces. I had thought about the maxwells but you have totally baffled me. The main use will be gaming and I need a good positioning of the steps and so on. I also used the arctis pro to watch movies and also listen to music and the truth is that I loved them. Anyway… we have to wait for the full review.

I have the 3D Pulse, but for long time periode wearing it, my ear getting hot, overall good for gaming. So i’m looking for new headset for gaming and listening music, i mainly gaming in PS5, Competitve FPS. So i’m looking for great headset way above my 3D Pulse. But the benefit of 3D Pulse for PS5 is because it’s design for PS5, it has EQ software (thanks after the update).
It’s been a week researching a good headset between open back vs closed back. The open back has naturally sound, and good imaging which is better for footstep. But i have wife, i can’t choose open back until i have my own room for gaming. So i looking for closed back.
So can’t wait to see the result!

I’ve audeze mobius, But I would like something wireless if it works even better. I mainly play fps online. Can it be worth going through mobius and audeze? What drives me the most is the microphone and the fact that they are wireless.
What worries me is surround: I tried to use mobius as 2ch whit dolby atmos, but the spatiality seems inferior to using the 7.1 surround selectable in AudezeHQ.

Ahoj, Mobidus se mi rozpadly díky výrobní vadě, ale to každé třetí. Zkoušel jsem Logitech Pro X Wireless a průměrné, ale pak jsem koupil Maxwell a jiný svět. Planární měniče jsou skvělé. Prostorový zvuk používám Dolby Atmos a když chci slyšet pořádně kroky tak vypnu Atmos a v HQ Audeze, zapnu FootSteps a super. Hraji převážně MWII a slyším vše a odkud nepřítel jde, ve hře ještě vypínám hudbu a komentáře. Maxwell má dva mikrofony, jeden interní a jeden sundavají. Interní je v pohodě a ten Boom sundavací je jedničkový. Paradoxně se v popisu o tom interním mikrofonu nezmiňuje, ale je tam a dokonce pomocí něho, mažete z uzavřených sluchátek, udělat otevřená, takový ambiente funkce. Jsem zvědavý, jestli tady na Rtings na něho přijdou. :)

Děkuji za zprávu, ano ještě není plně dokončena aplikace pro PC, nastavení EQ je zatím možné prostřednictvím aplikace android/ios. Ale i tak to funguje, Nastavíte v telefonu a uložíte profily a po spuštění PC to funguje a je uloženo v Preset 1-4. Z pohledu hráče, taková skvělá, dynamická herní sluchátky pro PC na světě ještě nebyla. Křišťálový zvuk v celém spektru detailů, slyšíte i padat lístek ze stromu. Jsem zvědavý na Vaší recenzi.
