The mixed usage score decreased from 8.6(7) to 8.4? Why?

The mixed usage score decreased from 8.6(7) to 8.4? Why? This is likely related to our newest test bench update!

Hi. I am on firmware 1430 in the UK and can confirm that the PC supports 4K 120Hz via PC over HDMI with VRR. Would love to see the measurements as I dont have the equipment to measure this!

Hello! Could you clarify specifically what measurements you’re looking for?

    Hi Dylan.

Thank you for your reply and it goes without saying that you guys are doing remarkable work and I enjoy your reviews alot.

In your review there isnt any input lag measurements for the 120 hz 4k signal via PC with or without game mode and I guess the readers would love to see those.

I would also suggest that you update your review as this TV can support the signal and would be happy to post pictures.

I tested it the TV in 4K 144hz HDR On with Gsync on and 4K 120hz HDR On with Gsync on.

Would it be possible to test HDR Game brightness with the newest firmware (1520) and non-standard window sizes like peak window at 9% or 24%? The most accepted theory on the Internet is Samsung nerfed this and QN90B around with firmware 1420, but maybe there have been improvements recently. I imagine this would also be a big consideration for readers interested in the newer QN90C and QN95C.

  12. Update: We retested the TV on firmware v.1520 and found that 4k @ 120Hz is now supported from sources other than a console, but chroma 4:4:4 still isn’t displayed properly. We updated the Input Lag and Supported Resolutions sections of the review.

Thank you for a great review. I just bought a QN95B because of problems with my Q70R. The problem with the QN95B is that Im not able to access the settings for HDR content.

When I press the home button and access the settings the playback stops and the TV drops out of HDR mode and I can only access the settings for SD content.

If I’m fast I can see the HDR indicator at the picture mode setting but it goes away immediately.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

On my Q70R the playback continued while accessing the menus and settings.

  14. Update: We bought and tested this TV’s successor, the Samsung QN95C QLED. We’ve added a few comparisons below, as the newer model offers better zone handling and better PQ EOTF tracking.

Hi there, I noticed that you guys reviewed this the QN95B but you never made a review for the previous QN95A. Is that because the models were so similar? Currently on the hunt for the perfect model to fit my needs so the B I’m quite taken by. I’m just curious about the 95A model.

Hey, that’s a great question. We didn’t test the QN95A because for that generation, the 95 was identical to the 90, the only difference was the external OneConnect box. Starting with the ‘B’ series of TVs there’s more of a difference between them, so we now consider them to be separate models.

I’m surprised that in the course of this review you seem to have either not discovered or reported the well known vibrating back cover issue. Said back cover, from my own tests, resonates at a frequency at about 95 Hz. And since it is not well secured to the main TV body, it has a tendency to vibrate against the frame when significant bass sounds are present. This results in a notable buzzing sound during even reasonable volumes that dip into that range.

Unfortunately, the only concrete solution that the community has to offer right now is to purchase a soundbar, saying that the audio quality on televisions already tend to be poor. However, at the price point for this television, it seems very unreasonable for such a glaring construction issue as a poorly attached plastic back to be present at all.

That was “fixed” with an new FW that pretty much removed all the bass from the audio.
