The LG UF7600 4k LED TV has great smart TV features, but the picture quality both in a dark and a bright room isn't very good. It has the worst contrast ratio that we have measured so far, and it reflects a lot of light.

The contrast ratio is incredibly low. The blacks look gray in most lighting situations.
The black uniformity is sub-par. The two lower corners are brighter than the rest of the screen.
The LG UF7600 is equipped with local dimming, but it is very slow to catch up to the picture, and the zones are really big.
The gray uniformity is even worse. The edges are darker, and there are a few colored vertical bands that are a few inches wide.
Picture quality-wise, the LG UF7600's main positive is the color accuracy at an angle. You will have the same picture quality when you view it from the side as you get in the front.
Update 01/06/2017: We have changed the methodology of testing. Since this is an old TV which we don't have anymore, we extrapolated the results from 2016 TVs.
Not only does it reflect a lot of light, very bright light sources also have rainbow glare around them.
For maximum luminosity, this TV is a bit below average. Not the best choice for a bright room.
The response time of the pixels is constant across all transitions; motion blur won't appear worse in certain games compared to other ones. There is a little bit of overshoot, but it isn't very noticeable.
This is a 60 Hz TV with motion interpolation. Unfortunately, there is a slight judder in movies when you don't want to turn on the soap opera effect.
The input lag is a bit high. We had to change the icon of the input to PC to lower it to 55.5 ms.

To enable chroma 4:4:4, change the icon of the input to PC. For 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4, turn on UHD Color.
The bass extension is decent for a TV, but the loudness and frequency response are poor. There will be noticeable pumping artifacts present when pushed.
Not a lot of distortion produced by this TV, but it doesn't get loud either.

Overall, the LG UF7600 is not a very good choice for a 4k TV, even considering the price. In a dark room, the blacks are gray, and the screen isn't uniform. In a bright room, it reflects a lot of light. The color accuracy at an angle is great though, as are the smart features.

Image retention is not just a problem on plasma TVs, some LCD TVs suffer from it too, like our LG 49UF7600. As soon as we displayed a picture for more than a few minutes, it would persist for a few minutes. To show this problem, we opened our homepage in the built-in web browser and left it open for 10 minutes. Then, we switched to a 50% fullscreen gray picture and took photographs at various time interval:
You won't decrease the TV's life through picking particular settings, so no need to worry about that.
