The Samsung H7150 LED TV is a very good TV with great picture quality. It has a glossier screen than the Samsung H6350, but reflects less light. It also has better screen uniformity.

Our Verdict

8.3 Mixed Usage

Overall, the Samsung H7150 LED TV is a great TV and should not disappoint you. Choosing it over the H6350 is worth it if you want better uniformity and fewer (although more defined) reflections.

Pros
  • Excellent picture quality.
  • Beautiful design, with thin borders and depth.
  • Very low reflection of ambient lights. The screen is glossy, though, so the reflections are more defined.
Cons
  • Limited viewing angle. The colors lose saturation when viewed from the sides.
  • 8.3 Mixed Usage

Design

The Samsung H7150 is very thin and has small borders. The case is heavier and feels sturdier than the H6350.

Design
Stand

The stand has a curved shape. Only the middle touches the table, so you do not need a wide one to support it.

The H7150 LED has good blacks and a great contrast ratio. The colors are true and the calibration was almost perfect out of the box.

Black Uniformity

There is no clouding, but the corners have a slight flashlighting issue. It is really minor, though.

Gray Uniformity

Some of the best gray uniformity for an LED that we have seen.

Picture Quality
Viewing Angle
Viewing Angle 23°

At about 23°, the colors change and become whiter. You can still see the picture, but it isn't as great as directly in-axis. This isn't a deal breaker unless you always sit at an angle.

Reflection 0.7%
Surface Type Glossy

The H7150 has a glossy screen. It does a very good job of reducing the luminosity of the reflections. However, they are more defined than the semi-gloss finish on the H6350. If you have a light directly behind you, you will prefer the H6350, but if the lights are overhead or on the side, the H7150 reflects less ambient light, so the picture quality is better.

It also performs very well in a bright room with windows. It can get bright enough for just about any room. You can actually see the picture behind the reflection of our test window, which happens with very few TVs.

Smart TV

Samsung has the best selection of smart TV apps on the market. The web browser is also good, but heavy websites feel laggy on it. Check out our full review of Samsung's 2014 Smart TV platform.

Smart Features
Remote

This Samsung comes with a very good remote control. It can be used to control the mouse on the TV as you would with a pointer. This is very useful for browsing the web on the TV.
