The Samsung JU7500 is a great 4k UHD TV. It's especially good for gaming, due to its incredible motion handling. Its main downside is that the picture quality degrades when you view it at an angle.

Our Verdict

Mixed Usage

The Samsung JU7500 UHD TV is really great TV, and it particularly excels as a screen for playing video games. It has a very low input lag and response time. It is also very good for other uses, like movies and sports, although the JS8500 beats it there due to the better gray uniformity, as well as its wider color gamut. If you don't play video games and the JU7500 is already a stretch of your budget, go for the cheaper JU7100.

Pros
  • Very low input lag and motion blur
  • Great overall picture quality
Cons
  • Color loss at an angle

    How We Test TVs
    How We Test TVs

We buy and test dozens of TVs yearly, taking an objective, data-driven approach to deliver results you can trust. Our testing process is complex, with hundreds of individual tests that take over a week to complete. Most of our tests use specially designed test patterns that mimic real content, but we also use the same sources you have at home to ensure our results match the real-world experience. We use two main tools for our testing: a Colorimetry Research CR-100 colorimeter and a CR-250 spectroradiometer.

The Samsung JU7500 is a mid-range curved 4k TV. If you don't like the look of a curved TV, you can get the JU7100 for less money. It has comparable picture quality, although it's a noticeable step down.

The Samsung JU7500 has no problem displaying any kind of resolution, even low quality content like DVDs or SD cable. For those, though, you might want to turn on 'Digital Clean View' under 'Picture Options' to help reduce the noise.

This is a 120Hz TV with motion interpolation. You can control the soap opera effect with the 'Auto Motion Plus' setting. It supports 24p movies without problem, except when it is sent over 60i or 60p. In that case, it can sometime remove the 3:2 pulldown, but not always. Find out more about the effects of Auto Motion Plus in our Additional Review Notes.
