Our Verdict
The Samsung JU7500 UHD TV is really great TV, and it particularly excels as a screen for playing video games. It has a very low input lag and response time. It is also very good for other uses, like movies and sports, although the JS8500 beats it there due to the better gray uniformity, as well as its wider color gamut. If you don't play video games and the JU7500 is already a stretch of your budget, go for the cheaper JU7100.

The contrast ratio is average, just like most Samsung TVs. The blacks will look a bit gray if you have all the lights off, but not too bad.

Turning on 'Smart LED' enables the local dimming feature, but as you can see, the zones are really big.

The gray uniformity is average. There is no noticeable banding, but you can see a few DSE spots, as well as darker edges and corners.

The Samsung JU7500 has no problem displaying any kind of resolution, even low quality content like DVDs or SD cable. For those, though, you might want to turn on 'Digital Clean View' under 'Picture Options' to help reduce the noise.

The glossy screen handles the ambient reflections very well, which increases the perceived contrast ratio. There are a few rainbows around bright objects, though.
It can get bright enough for most rooms.

There is no noticeable crosstalk when watching 3D content. Our panel version is TS01. We heard a report that the MS01 has worse crosstalk.

The response time is very low, at 8.9 ms. Surprisingly, it drives the pixels differently than the JU7100. The response time is faster, but there is more overshoot. Overall, this is a better compromise, because the overshoots are less noticeable.
This is a 120Hz TV with motion interpolation. You can control the soap opera effect with the 'Auto Motion Plus' setting. It supports 24p movies without problem, except when it is sent over 60i or 60p. In that case, it can sometime remove the 3:2 pulldown, but not always. The input lag of the Samsung JU7500 is a very low 21.1 ms when you turn on game mode. PC mode, which you need to use if you want full chroma 4:4:4, has 37.3 ms.
Like all Samsung UHD TVs, it supports chroma 4:4:4 under PC mode, but can't handle 1080p @ 120 fps.

Very good loudness and low-end extension, but the frequency response is poor throughout. Too much bass and not enough high-end.

The smart features on this TV work well. The included remote is useful for browsing the web with, because it can be used to control an onscreen pointer just by moving the remote.
