Vizio E Series 4k 2016 LED TV Calibration Settings

For additional settings information, please consult the Common Problems and How to Calibrate pages.

These are the calibration settings that we used for our review of the Vizio E Series 4K 2016. These settings will work well for everything. They work even video games because all modes have the same low input lag (although turning on 'Game Low Latency' doesn't hurt).

Start off by choosing the 'Calibrated Dark' picture mode. If you are in a bright room, or find our settings too dark, increase 'Backlight' as much as you want. It won't mess up the colors. Don't touch 'Brightness'. For 'Sharpness', leave it at 0 for 1080p and 4k sources to prevent any over-sharpening. For lower-quality content, like DVDs or SD channels, you might want to increase it a little bit.

If you find the picture a bit too yellow and dull, change 'Color Temperature' to something colder. If you don't like to have the screen consistently changing luminosity depending on the scene, or if you see some blooming around bright objects, turn off 'Active LED Zones'.

If you see too many artifacts or too much noise, enable the noise reduction features. Keep in mind that these soften the picture, so don't turn them on for high-quality content.

The following are the results of the white balance and colorspace calibration on our unit. They are provided for reference, and should not be copied as the calibration values vary per individual unit even for the same model and same size as the TV we reviewed due to manufacturing tolerances. If you want to try them you will need to enter all values shown, as all of them are active at the same time. If you end up with worse picture quality, simply reset them to the default values.

Note: We adjusted the colors for the Vizio E Series 4k 2016 because we did not experience any color issues as we usually did with other Vizio TVs when touching these settings.

Hello! When I cast on the Vizio 4k from my phone (E Series) and watch a 4k YouTube video how do I know I am watching that video in 4k quality?
You can check the current source resolution and refresh rate in the Vizio SmartCast app, under system information.

Do you have any suggestions for adjusting audio settings? When I'm watching movies, the music and SFX will often be louder than the dialogue, and the volume will change between action scenes and quieter ones. Any suggestions?
In the 'Audio' menu, set the 'Volume Leveling' option on by sliding right the switch next to it. It should help this problem.

I'm confused as to why every single listing of this TV list it having "Clear Action 240" which is motion interpolation but your review claims it has none. This is one of at least 2 TVs I was considering that claim this while every other listing and the manufacturer's specs claim it has motion interpolation. I don't see how they can be lying on their specs of multiple TVs, are you SURE there isn't some mistake being made here? The same goes for the "Vizio D Series 1080P". It even shows Clear Action in the screenshots of the settings pages on both TVs.
'Clear Action 240' isn't motion interpolation, but backlight flicker to create a clearer image. In the case of the Vizio E Series 4k 2016 the results of this setting can be seen in the 'Motion Blur' box. This TV doesn't have motion interpolation. For the Vizio TVs that do support motion interpolation, you'll notice in our settings image the 'Reduce Judder' option to interpolate 30fps content to 60fps, and the 'Reduce Motion Blur' option to interpolate 60fps content up to 120Hz (for the Vizio M 60" and larger, or the Vizio P except for the 50").

Does the E70U-D3 allow for Bluetooth pairing with headphones? I have Bose headphones that I'd really like to use without a separate transmitter?
