Our Verdict
Unless you care about the curve or the fancy remote, get the cheaper JU6500 UHD TV instead of this Samsung JU6700. The picture quality is the same. It is good, but it does have a little bit of motion blur and judder.

We buy and test dozens of TVs yearly, taking an objective, data-driven approach to deliver results you can trust. Our testing process is complex, with hundreds of individual tests that take over a week to complete. Most of our tests are done with specially designed test patterns that mimic real content, but we also use the same sources you have at home to ensure our results match the real-world experience. We use two main tools for our testing: a Colorimetry Research CR-100 colorimeter and a CR-250 spectroradiometer.
Test Results
There is a significant amount of deviation in the gray uniformity, and a considerable amount of DSE, too.
This TV doesn't maintain its colors well when viewed at an angle. The curve of the screen exacerbates this issue, because the side nearer to you is at a greater angler than it would be on a flat screen.
Update 01/06/2017: We have changed the methodology of testing. Since this is an old TV which we don't have anymore, we extrapolated the results from 2016 TVs.
Our unit had a few brighter spots near the bottom edge of the screen, but they weren't noticeable with normal content.
Cable TV and other 720p content will also looks better when you turn on 'Digital Clean View'.
Its semi-gloss finish doesn't reflect much, but because its screen is curved, anything that is directly in front gets magnified.
The JU6700 can get bright enough for pretty much any room.
The motion handling could be better on this TV. It has a bit more blur than average, although you won't really notice it unless you are gaming or watching sports.
Like the JU6500, there is a small constant judder when watching movies. You can get rid of it by turning on 'Auto Motion Plus', but it adds the soap opera effect.
In game mode, the input lag is low. PC mode (for 4:4:4 support), is a bit higher, at 44.2ms.
To enable chroma 4:4:4 at 60Hz, turn on 'UHD Color'.
Pumping may be present under heavy load. The frequency response is decent at lower volumes. The bass cut-off is not bad for a TV and it gets relatively loud.
There is a slight but noticeable increase in distortion at higher volumes, but decent distortion at comfortable listening levels.
Major Apps Available
The app selection on Samsung's new Tizen OS is better than it was at the start of the year, and it comes with a full web browser. Overall, a good smart platform.
Contrary to the JU6500, the JU6700 comes with a fancy smart remote, which is great for browsing the web.
