Hi Rtings!
Do you still have an A1E that you can retest input lag and brightness on with the latest Oreo update?
Everything feel so much faster in general I would be excited to see if anything was improved behind the scenes.
We’ve purchased the product and are waiting for it to arrive in our lab.
I’m really glad you purchased this set. Looking forward to your review!
Looking forward to the review. I heard rumors that the US version is not QD-Oled like the FQ1 Aquos, so it would be great to finally know for sure.
The FS1 is definitely not QD-OLED, but I hear that the US will be getting the QD version next year.
This doesn’t make sense. Sharp has two OLED models, the FQ1 and the FS1. The FQ1 is the W-OLED model while the FS1 is the QD-OLED model. The model being sold in the US currently, and as listed here on RTINGS, is the FS1 QD-OLED model. What you’re suggesting is that they actually released the FQ1 and renamed it FS1, which would be misleading to consumers who are aware of the model differences.

In the US, FS1 is the WOLED based model. While FS1 means QD-OLED in Japan & maybe elsewhere. I’ll post a couple of links for you at the bottom.
It’s annoying to use a different nomenclature for different regions, but it’s common practice. Sony was notorious for it till recently & Samsung still does it.

QD-OLED:
Hello All,
Does anyone knows if this TV has “pixel shifter”, “pixel refresher” or any kind of settings on it to protect against screen burn in? I bought the TV and there are so many great things about it, but I can’t find anything on it that mitigates or prevents screen burn-in. Plus, the screen flickers sometimes.
Curious about these Sharp oleds that have Roku.
I wonder if RTINGS ever received their unit? Hopefully the testing is going well. Would love to see an actual review of this display. Reviews are still no were to be found.
this clearly got lost in shipping and im so curious!!!!
I wonder what the holdup is. It’s been nearly three weeks since RTINGS first ordered the television and it still hasn’t arrived in their lab yet… 🤔
Was it lost in transit or is it just taking a long time to ship for unrelated reasons? I’m eagerly awaiting this review since it marks Sharp’s grand return to the North American television market, not to mention that there basically isn’t a single review out there regarding the television itself. On paper, it appears to be directly competing with the LG C3 and has a few extra advantages as well, all at a cheaper price.

We purchased ours in the US, and we’re located in Canada. Sometimes, this leads to shipping delays. We’ll post updates as soon as we have them though. Sorry about the delay!

I can’t wait to see the review. I’ve had the TV for 3 weeks now. At first things were rocky with the TV flickering, no burn-in mitigation settings in the menu, and tearing in some streaming content. After playing with the TV for a while, the flickering is almost gone. Unless I’m crazy, I think burn-in mitigations are automaticaly set, but you have no control or access to the options. There is an “agressive” ABL that the TV has. Also, I think the pixels have been shifting on their own (pixel shifter). I noticed how the borders on my widows have been looking different moving slightly, some words and options that were cut off are no longer cut off. It even seems like the screen was “skipping” or “shifting” every now and then as I used the TV to read things on PC. Either it’s an automatic “pixel shifter” or I may be going crazy lol. I turned off some of the “action smoothing” settings in the menu to stop the tearing in streaming media.

Dude, you should post your own review on the internet, whether that be in written format or recorded format. Me and a few other people are literally clamoring for the tiniest of details regarding the television. Even with the delay in shipping, I’m almost ready to pull the trigger… 🤤

I posted a review on Abt.com today, which is where I bought the TV. It probably won’t be avaible to people until a couple of days since it must be approved and go through their website. The only issues with the TV now is flickering. Sometimes it’s great, other times it’s a pain. The color gamut and different pictures modes on it look great. I think the color gamut might be as good or better than the LG oleds I’ve tried (LGCX, LGC2).
Any updates on this one? Still coming?
any review on the mini led version ?
Any news
Any news here? Still awaiting any form of official reviews for the new Sharp OLEDs that came out over 2 months ago now. Thanks!

It is an LG Display W-OLED, odd since the Japanese model of the same name uses a QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display

Aun nada?
The product has arrived in our lab, and our testers will start evaluating it soon.
Peak brightness pls
Glad to hear it finally arrived and is undergoing testing. I’m curious to know if it has similar gaming features or modes like the LG C3. Also what processor is it running? Is it also using an LG AI Processor and how does it perform, any sluggishness in using the Roku OS and apps?
Codec support Does it support AV1? Netflix, Youtube and Plex can all use this codec and it’s more bandwidth efficient. I’ve heard newer TVs support it so I’d be curious to see if it has it. Displayspecifications.com also says that it supports AptX, I'be interested to know if this is true
Gaming input lag for 60 Hz and 120’Hz and if there is any kind of boost mode?
Early access to our full test results is now available for Insiders! Become an insider to check it out here.
Please discuss menu performance. I have a TCL Mini-LED Roku and the menu is very sluggish. I’d hate to buy this Sharp OLED and find the processor is underwhelming. The best of both worlds (i.e. Roku and OLED) is half lost if the menu is laggy and freezes all the time.
It would be good to review the energy consumption since its consumption is 330w quite a bit compared to the competition OLED LG, Samsung
The full review has been posted here. Let us know what you think!
Does this TV use a newer MediaTek Pentonic chipset?
So…the result is to buy LG instead
I never used Roku before. Is it better than WebOS?
I have a 2017 LG OLED and the WebOS interface is very underwhelming. Newer LG TVs have a completely different interface, so I can’t comment on that. But Roku OS being in TV and streaming boxes gets better app support than TVs alone. The remote is easy and I like that your HDMI inputs are added to the main menu like your streaming apps.
I think so but it shouldn’t be a deal breaker for picking a tv. I like how simple Roku’s interface is rather than showing you a million movie poster ads like most of the other tv os when you turn them on.
im not even trying to poke fun I dont understand peoples huge frustration with ads on smart tvs. Like just scroll past and pick the app you want lol maybe im just so used to ads now Im numb

It’s frustrating to scroll past especially when many of these tvs have weak processors which make scrolling past laggy and unresponsive. I also just don’t like seeing a cluttered screen when I turn on my tv. It’s good it doesn’t bother you since it’s the norm now.
Update: Mentioned the newly reviewed Sharp AQUOS XLED FV1 in the HDR Brightness section of this review.
Hey Rtings, I know the OS on the Sharp oled is Roku, so, for the sake of simplicity, setting options are limited; however, with this still being an oled, does it have a pixel shifter and pixel refresher, or equivalent features, that can be enabled/disabled in the menus? Provided it has these features, even if they can’t be manipulated manually via menus, does the tv trigger them automatically? Also, does this tv have some form of cable management? Your review didn’t mention cable management, but I’ve heard from other sources it does. Just wondering if you could shed light on this.

Hello! The FS1 does have an input cover and a channel in the back that you can run cords through for cable management.
Strangely enough, the TV doesn’t have any manual settings for pixel refresh or pixel shift. We never received a notification that an automatic pixel refresh had happened during our testing, but it’s possible that the TV does a pixel refresh or pixel shift under-the-hood at some point. We don’t know for sure. Our review will be updated shortly to include information on this and cable management. Thanks for reaching out and I hope that helps!
