The Blueair DreamWell is decent for home use. It's quiet enough and energy efficient, and its 18-hour runtime means you can leave it running for long stretches without needing a refill. It also has a built-in humidistat and app controls to set a target humidity or create a schedule, so you won't have to babysit the unit throughout the day. However, its humidification capacity is only middling, so it's better suited to maintaining humidity in smaller or moderately sized spaces than quickly adding moisture to a large room. Cleaning is also a bit involved, since only the water tank is dishwasher-safe, while the wick, pump, and other components require more hands-on maintenance.

Everything else needs to be cleaned by hand, though, and removing the wick involves unclipping several pieces around the pump and filter housing. There are also a few small areas around these parts that can be a little tedious to reach, and Blueair recommends descaling the tank and pump about once a month.

It raises humidity faster and is much easier to clean, making it a more capable option if you want stronger humidification and air filtration from one device. The Blueair DreamWell is much easier to fit into a smaller room, though, as the Dyson is exceptionally large, and it's quieter at its highest setting and more energy efficient as a humidifier. It also has a dedicated aroma stone for essential oils, which the Dyson lacks.

Test Results
This unit is fairly easy to clean, but only the water tank is dishwasher-safe. Everything else needs to be cleaned by hand, and removing the wick requires unclipping several pieces around the pump and filter housing. There are also a few small nooks and crannies in this area that can make routine cleaning a bit tedious. The wick can be machine-washed about once a month for a deeper clean, and Blueair also recommends descaling the tank and pump monthly with a citric acid solution to help prevent mineral buildup.
The Blueair has a good range of features. Its touch controls let you adjust the fan speed and target humidity; its built-in humidistat automatically regulates output to maintain your preferred humidity level; and it has an auto-off feature. It has a physical lock/unlock switch that helps keep the top section securely in place, and is compatible with essential oils, which are added to a dedicated aroma stone rather than directly to the water.
You can also control the humidifier through the Blueair app, where you can adjust settings remotely, set a target humidity, create schedules, and monitor the room's humidity and temperature. It doesn't have built-in water sterilization, though Blueair sells an optional Water Refresher cartridge designed to help filter contaminants from the recirculating water.
This humidifier has a passable humidification capacity, but its output depends on how saturated the wick is when you start using it. This discrepancy is likely due to Blueair's claim being based on lower-output use, whereas our test runs the humidifier at full power. Also, while the tank is advertised at 1 gallon, its usable capacity measured closer to 0.7 gallons in our testing.
