The Blueair InvisibleMist is a premium evaporative humidifier, positioned below the larger Blueair DreamWell in the company's lineup, and is designed for medium-sized rooms like bedrooms or small living areas. It uses an evaporative wick-and-fan system to add moisture to the air and includes features such as a built-in humidistat, automatic humidity control, and app support.
Our Verdict
The Blueair InvisibleMist is good for home use. It can add enough moisture to make a dry bedroom, office, or living space feel more comfortable, and it runs quietly enough that it shouldn't get in the way while you're working, watching TV, or relaxing. It's also reasonably easy to keep clean and doesn't use much energy during operation. Its main drawback is the relatively short runtime, so you'll need to refill the tank more often if you want to keep it running throughout the day.
Tank is machine washable.
Quiet operating noise.
Compact size.
Build-in humidistat and app controls.
Less suitable for very large spaces.
Short runtime requiring more frequent refills.
The Blueair InvisibleMist is very good for use in the bedroom. It runs quietly enough to be unnoticeable while you sleep, and its compact size makes it easy to place on a nightstand or dresser. It also has enough humidification capacity to make a noticeable difference in a dry bedroom. It's efficient and reasonably easy to clean, too. Its main drawback is the shorter runtime. It should still get you through the night if you refill the tank before bed, but you'll likely need to refill it again in the morning if you want it running through the day.
Low operating noise is unlikely to disturb sleep.
Compact size.
Build-in humidistat and app controls.
Short runtime requiring more frequent refills.
The Blueair InvisibleMist is fairly easy to clean. The tank is dishwasher safe and easy to access, so routine upkeep shouldn't be too time-consuming. That said, most other components still need to be washed by hand, which makes maintenance a little more involved than on models with more dishwasher-safe parts.
Tank is machine washable.
Majority of components require handwashing.
The Blueair InvisibleMist has good humidification capacity. It can add enough moisture to noticeably improve comfort in a dry bedroom, office, or other medium-sized room without taking too long to make a difference.
Good humidification capacity for medium-sized rooms.
Less suitable for very large spaces.
The Blueair InvisibleMist is very efficient. It adds a good amount of moisture relative to the power it uses, so running it for long stretches shouldn't have much impact on your electricity bill.

Popular Humidifier Comparisons
The Blueair InvisibleMist is a compact evaporative humidifier for medium rooms and the entry-level model in Blueair's humidifier lineup. Surprisingly, it has a higher humidification capacity than the Blueair DreamWell, despite Blueair advertising the DreamWell as having a higher capacity, though the DreamWell does last considerably longer between refills. The InvisibleMist also puts out more moisture than the Levoit Classic 300S, making it better suited to rooms that need a faster boost in humidity. It's also easier to clean than some other evaporative humidifiers, such as the Vornado EVDC300, making regular maintenance less tedious.

The Blueair InvisibleMist raises humidity more effectively than the Levoit Classic 300S. The Blueair relies on evaporative humidification, while the Levoit uses an ultrasonic system, though both come with a built-in humidistat, app support, and similar advertised room coverage. In our testing, the InvisibleMist made a bigger dent in humidity levels, so it's the better pick if a bigger jump in humidity matters most to you. The Levoit does last much longer between refills, though, thanks to a substantially larger tank.
The Blueair InvisibleMist is an easier humidifier to live with than the Vornado EVDC300. Both are evaporative humidifiers with similar tested humidification capacity, but the Blueair is less tedious to clean and uses a top-fill tank, while the Vornado's bottom-fill design and more involved maintenance make regular upkeep less convenient. The Vornado does last longer between refills, though.
The Blueair InvisibleMist is a better choice for most people than the Carepod One. Their tested humidification capacities are similar, but the Blueair has a built-in humidistat that lets it monitor the room and automatically adjust its output to maintain a selected humidity level. The Carepod requires more manual control since it lacks a humidity sensor, though it's considerably easier to clean thanks to its simpler design. Neither has a particularly impressive runtime, but the Blueair still lasts longer between refills.
The Blueair InvisibleMist is a better humidifier overall than the Blueair DreamWell. Both are evaporative Blueair models with a humidistat and app support, but the InvisibleMist has stronger humidification performance in our testing despite its lower price point. It raises humidity more effectively, even though Blueair advertises the DreamWell with higher coverage and capacity. The InvisibleMist's wick also became saturated more quickly and evenly during testing, which likely contributes to its stronger output. The DreamWell's main advantage is runtime. It lasts much longer on a full tank, so it needs less frequent refilling if you plan to leave it running throughout the day.
Test Results
This unit is relatively easy to clean. Most parts need to be washed by hand, and the weekly cleaning routine can be a bit of a hassle since you have to unclip several pieces just to access and remove the filter. A few areas are also somewhat awkward to reach, but overall, the parts are fairly easy to handle. The water tank is dishwasher safe, and Blueair says you can even wash the wick filter in a washing machine once a month for a deeper clean.
The humidifier has a solid set of features, including a built-in humidistat, auto-shutoff, a sleep mode, and app support for remote setting adjustments. Blueair's marketing may also make it seem as though the unit offers some form of water sterilization, since its filter wick is described as antimicrobial and designed to trap minerals and pollutants from tap water. That said, this doesn't actually establish that the water in the tank gets sterilized.
This unit has a poor runtime, so you'll need to refill it fairly often if you're using it throughout the day and overnight.
This humidifier has good humidification capacity. Surprisingly, it outperformed the Blueair DreamWell in our testing, even though Blueair advertises the InvisibleMist with a lower capacity. Both models use a pump to wet their wick filters, but the InvisibleMist's wick became saturated much more quickly and evenly, which likely helps it humidify more effectively. Its larger wick also provides more surface area for evaporation, which could help it put more moisture into the air.
This unit is very efficient, which is typical of evaporative humidifiers since they rely on a fan to move air through a wet wick rather than heating water or producing mist with an ultrasonic transducer.
This humidifier is very efficient, but its evaporative design comes with a small energy tradeoff. As it pulls water into the air, it cools the air slightly, so during colder months your heating system may kick in a bit more to compensate, marginally increasing your energy bill.
This unit is very quiet, so it won't be distracting whether you're working, relaxing, or sleeping nearby. Night mode uses a custom fan speed for the quietest operation and dims the display as well. In practice, though, it runs only negligibly quieter than the lowest regular fan speed, since both settings are already very quiet.
