The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S is a tower-style ultrasonic humidifier intended for large spaces. It features a high-capacity top-fill tank, a separate aroma tray for adding essential oils to provide a scented mist, an RGB lighting strip, and a mist spout that rotates 180 degrees. In terms of additional features, there's a built-in humidistat that adjusts its misting level depending on your desired level of humidity, Wi-Fi integration with support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa so you can run the unit through your smartphone or with voice commands, and a separate remote control if you'd rather not connect your humidifier to the internet.
Our Verdict
The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S is a decent option for home use. Its humidification capacity is sufficient for larger spaces, and depending on your own usage habits, you can run it for days at a time without having to worry about refilling its tank. As an ultrasonic unit, it also consumes very little power and runs exceptionally quietly, making it a good option for frequent overnight use. Its built-in humidistat allows for a hands-off ownership experience as well, since you won't have to fiddle with settings to achieve your desired level of humidity. With all that being said, this unit is a nuisance to clean due to its many component parts and narrow, upright water tank.
Relatively low power consumption.
Humidification capacity is sufficient for large rooms.
Exceptionally long runtime.
Runs almost inaudibly.
Tall, narrow design makes it very difficult to clean.
No water sterilization system.
The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S is a very good choice for use in bedrooms. It offers sufficient capacity for even larger bedrooms and runs efficiently and almost completely silently. This makes it a great option for sensitive sleepers. Even at its highest misting setting, it's capable of running for almost two full days with a full tank, so you shouldn't have to worry about the tank running dry in the middle of the night if you're remotely diligent about keeping it topped up. The built-in humidistat also allows it to automatically maintain your desired humidity level, so you won't wake up to an overly damp bedroom. Its tall, narrow shape gives it a slightly smaller footprint than some other units with similar capacity, though it also makes it somewhat difficult to clean properly.

The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S is quite difficult to clean. There are quite a few components to wash, none of which are dishwasher-safe. More than that, the narrow, upright shape of the water tank makes it very difficult to clean every crevice, even with a brush. Despite its built-in anti-scaling cartridge, you still might have to deal with mineral buildup or grime in the long term. Unlike some other alternatives, there's no integrated water sterilization system either.
Tall, narrow design makes it very difficult to clean.
No water sterilization system.
The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S' humidification capacity is very good. It's capable of effectively raising the humidity level in most living rooms or larger bedrooms and home offices, though it might struggle a little in an especially dry open-concept area.
Humidification capacity is sufficient for large rooms.
The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S' overall efficiency is good. It's capable of producing a fairly large amount of mist relative to its power consumption and is unlikely to have a significant impact on your utility bill.
Relatively low power consumption.

Popular Humidifier Comparisons
The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S is a mid-range ultrasonic humidifier with a tower-style design. It's a good performer overall, with a high humidification capacity and an enormously long runtime thanks to its generously sized water tank. That said, its tall and narrow water tank makes it something of a nuisance to wash compared to alternatives with a more conventional design, such as the Blueair InvisibleMist or Levoit Superior Studio 450S. The Dreo's closest analog is the older Sejoy ASN-13, which shares a similar form factor, delivers near-identical performance, and is similarly difficult to clean; that said, the Sejoy at least features a UV light sterilization system to discourage mold and bacterial buildup, something not found on the Dreo.

The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S and Sejoy ASN-13 are pretty evenly matched tower-style humidifiers in terms of performance. Both units are suitable for use in large spaces like living rooms or dining areas and are similarly power-efficient. That said, there are slight differences in terms of performance. The Dreo is Wi-Fi enabled, so you can change settings or monitor humidity levels using a smartphone app. It also features a slightly bigger water tank and can run for longer. That said, the Sejoy does have a UV sterilization system, which can cut down on mold and bacterial growth.
The Blueair InvisibleMist provides a slightly more pleasant user experience than the Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S. The Blueair is much easier to clean, has a far more compact design, and provides comparable humidification capacity and efficiency, thanks to its evaporative design. Meanwhile, the Dreo is a purely ultrasonic model that runs quieter, and its large water tank gives it a considerably longer runtime.
The Levoit Superior Studio 450S and Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S have different core strengths. The Levoit is a more compact unit and will fit more comfortably in areas where space is at a premium. Moreover, the Levoit is considerably easier to wash, with several dishwasher-safe components and a water tank with fewer hard-to-reach corners. It also runs slightly more efficiently than the Dreo and can emit slightly more moisture at its highest setting. That said, the Dreo's water tank is more than twice the size, giving it a much longer runtime. The Levoit also has a fan to propel mist outward, unlike the fan-free ultrasonic Dreo, which makes it considerably louder than the latter.
Test Results
For those interested, here's a wider-angle shot of this humidifier that shows its size in full.
This unit is somewhat difficult to clean. The tall, narrow shape of the tank is the biggest nuisance: you'll need to use a brush to reach the bottom, and even then, it's possible you'll miss a few spots. While this unit does have an integrated de-scaling cartridge built into the water tank, it's possible mineral buildup will occur in the long term.
On a broader level, none of the other components, such as the tank lid or atomizer, are dishwasher-safe, so you'll need to clean them by hand.
The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S has a robust suite of features. There's a humidistat that allows it to adjust its misting intensity automatically depending on your desired humidity level, an essential oils tray so you can have the unit deliver a scented mist, and Wi-Fi connectivity so you can make changes to your desired settings, set operating times, or monitor humidity levels via a companion app. You can access basic settings using the provided remote control too. There's also an RGB lighting strip that runs the length of its body. You can change that strip's color using the aforementioned companion app.
That said, unlike the similarly designed Sejoy ASN-13, there's no integrated UV light to reduce mold or bacterial buildup inside its water tank.
This unit has a remarkably long runtime and will easily last you two to three days without having to refill its tank, depending on your own usage habits. As per the manufacturer, its advertised runtime of 100 hours was achieved using the least intense misting setting, so you can expect a runtime that falls somewhere between the advertised metric and our own test results with mixed real-world usage.
This unit's humidification capacity is very good. It's generally sufficient for larger areas like living rooms, large primary bedrooms, or combined kitchen and dining areas. That said, its advertised coverage of 700 ft² is rather optimistic, as the Dreo's real-world capacity is far closer to units like the Sejoy ASN-13 and Blueair InvisibleMist, both of which have an advertised coverage of 500 ft².
This is an ultrasonic unit with correspondingly low power consumption. In isolation, you aren't likely to notice a huge impact on your utility bill even if you leave it running for prolonged periods. If you want something that consumes even less power while running, you'll need to look towards an evaporative model such as the Blueair InvisibleMist.
The Dreo Smart Humidifier 747S' overall efficiency is impressive. When using this unit in a cool and dry space, it's likely to force your heating system to work a little harder to compensate, but not by that significant a margin.
This is an exceptionally quiet humidifier. As an ultrasonic unit, there's no distracting hum from a fan motor, and the unit is practically inaudible even at its highest misting setting, making it a good choice for use in bedrooms or nurseries.
