The Canopy Portable is a compact ultrasonic humidifier intended for travelers and for small spaces. It boasts a cordless design with an advertised runtime of over 10 hours, simple construction with mostly dishwasher-safe components, and an integrated UV light to inhibit mold growth. Beyond that, there's a pad at the top of the unit's exhaust, where you can place a few drops of fragrance oil to create a scented mist.
Our Verdict
The Canopy Portable isn't really designed for whole-home use. Its humidification capacity is very low, and it's only meant for misting a small area around you rather than an entire room. On the upside, it's exceptionally easy to clean, consumes very little power, and can run for quite a while for something so compact. It also runs incredibly quietly, so you can place it nearby without it being a nuisance.

The Canopy Portable is an excellent option for bedrooms, provided you don't have a large area to cover. While its humidification capacity is too low to make much of a difference in even modestly sized bedrooms, this unit is small enough to place next to you on a bedside table or dresser, and its cordless design frees you from keeping it close to an outlet. It also runs almost inaudibly, so it won't wake you in the middle of the night, and has a long enough runtime to last throughout the night.

The Canopy Portable is exceptionally easy to clean. The humidifier is made up of relatively few parts, most of which are dishwasher safe, so you won't necessarily have to spend much time washing everything by hand. The unit also has additional features designed to reduce mold and bacterial buildup, including an integrated UV light for tank sterilization and an auto-off system that runs its fan to help dry the unit once the water tank is empty.

However, judged purely as a humidifier, it struggles compared to conventional units, especially given its relatively high price. As a humidifier, the Levoit Classic 300S is far better than the Canopy Portable. The Levoit can be used to humidify an entire room, rather than a small area surrounding you. Beyond that, it has a far longer runtime than the Canopy, and features a built-in humidistat that automatically keeps humidity in your room at your desired level. Unlike the Canopy, you can also operate the Levoit using a smartphone. With all that said, the Canopy targets a different sort of use case, with a very compact design and rechargeable battery that allows you to run it far from a power outlet. It's also far easier to clean than the bulkier Levoit.
The Carepod One and Canopy Portable are both ultrasonic humidifiers partially marketed with ease-of-cleaning as a selling point, but they differ in most ways, with the Carepod being by far the more effective humidifier. The Carepod has a far greater humidification output, with more than six times the overall capacity. It's also fractionally quieter. With that said, the Canopy can actually run for longer, at least when it isn't running purely off of its battery, and takes up much less room. Unlike the Carepod, the Canopy also has an integrated UV light for tank sterilization and an aromatherapy pad for a scented cool mist.
The Arctic Air Pure Chill 2.0 is a more capable humidifier than the Canopy Portable, though the Canopy does feature some distinct advantages. The Arctic Air offers more than twice the humidification capacity, making it the better option for small rooms. It's also slightly more efficient, with only a small jump in power consumption for far greater moisture output. That being said, the Canopy can be used without having to stay close to an outlet thanks to its rechargeable battery, and its lower moisture output results in a much longer runtime. Beyond that, the Canopy is also much quieter and easier to clean, with most of its parts being dishwasher-safe.
Test Results
The Canopy Portable is exceptionally easy to clean. The humidifier is made up of relatively few parts, and you can disassemble it pretty quickly. Better yet, the steel filter, water tank, and main cap are all dishwasher safe, so you don't have to waste time cleaning them by hand. That being said, the manufacturer states that the unit shouldn't be placed in your dishwasher with dirty dishes, so you'll have to run that appliance otherwise empty.
The cleaning process is a little more involved if you don't have a dishwasher, with the water tank in particular being a bit tricky to clean. Still, you should be able to clean even the tighter crevices with a small brush, or simply fill the tank with water and mild detergent and shake it around. You should also wipe the bottom of the unit, its lower intake, and the top of the basin with a damp rag or antimicrobial cloth to clear off any dust or debris.
The Canopy Portable has a few additional quality-of-life features. You can place a few drops of scented oil on the pad at the top of the unit for a scented mist. There's also an integrated UV light to sterilize the water in the tank, and a unique implementation of an auto-off system. Once the water tank runs empty and the unit is unable to produce any more mist, it'll stop running its ultrasonic transducer but continue spinning the fan. This is meant to dry out the interior of the unit and inhibit mold growth. That said, while in testing, we ran this unit overnight after its water tank had been emptied, and still noticed some water left in its basin the following morning.
Despite its very small water tank, the Canopy Portable's runtime is actually acceptable. This is largely due to its drip-feed design, where a small amount of water is dripped onto the ultrasonic transducer to be aerosolized. Its battery has an advertised runtime of 11 hours, so it might run out of charge before it runs out of water if you use it without plugging it in.
This unit's humidification capacity is terrible. It's really only suited for humidifying a small area around you, and will struggle to make much of an impact even within small spaces like nurseries or home offices. This low capacity is a result of its low-powered fan and minimal water usage.
Within the typical two-hour testing window, the Canopy was unable to bring the humidity level in our testing room from 30% to the target 60%. We left the unit to run for as long as was necessary to achieve the targeted humidity level, and recorded the following results:

This unit is decently efficient. Its power draw is minimal, even when compared to other small-capacity units like the Arctic Air Pure Chill 2.0, though its moisture output is also minimal. This unit can be run off of its rechargeable battery; if you were to charge it while away from home it's unlikely you'd notice any real impact on your utility bill.
This humidifier's overall efficiency is great, though like any cool-mist humidifier, that's mainly conditional on where and when you use it. It's best-used in warmer, drier months, as opposed to cooler months where it may have an impact on the temperature in your home.
The Canopy Portable is a remarkably quiet humidifier. There's little difference in operating noise across its fan speed settings, with the unit being almost inaudible. As a result, you can place it nearby, even within a quiet environment like a bedroom or office, without it being a disturbance.
