Vitamix A2500
The Vitamix A3500 is a little better than the Vitamix A2500. The A3500 makes more snow-like crushed ice and a smoother puree with small batches of fibrous ingredients. It has more automatic blending programs, and its controls include a programmable timer. It's also quieter when it's running.

Hey FCW, thanks for pointing that out. We would only put “Yes” for the “Programmable Timer” box if there is a built-in programmable timer without the need of an app. That being said, I can look more into the capabilities of the app in the coming weeks and see if there’s a better way that information can be conveyed in the text. Thanks again for the information, we really appreciate your feedback!
The A2500 timer is programmable. Not on the device, but from the application…
That’s a great point. In this case, it could be because they have different maximum blending speeds. Also, part of the issue could be that this scoring is subjective, which means that it can be more challenging to get completely consistent results. There can also be small differences in motor power, blending speed, and controls that affect results. We’ll be sure to keep this in mind when we work on future updates to our testing methodology. In the mean time, I’ll investigate this further in the next few weeks and let you know what we find out.
If they are using the same container, why would the a3500 make a better small batch smoothie?
