Our Verdict

Whynter NEX ARC-1030WN

Dreo Portable Air Conditioner 740S

The Whynter NEX ARC-1030WN and Dreo Portable Air Conditioner 740S are somewhat evenly matched dual-hose portable A/Cs, though the Dreo has a slight edge in performance-to-size. Despite both units sharing the same advertised 10,000 BTU/hr cooling capacity, the Dreo is noticeably more compact and far lighter. However, since both units roll on casters, the latter doesn't matter so much. Meanwhile, the Whynter runs marginally quieter.
