The Tineco PURE ONE X is a cordless stick vacuum. Its built-in dirt sensor allows it to change its suction power level on the fly depending on the kind of debris it sucks up, and it also can be optioned with a relatively wide assortment of tools. It clears pet hair without issue on various kinds of surfaces and has an allergen-trapping HEPA filter. However, while it also does a fantastic job clearing debris on bare floors, its performance on carpets is mediocre. You also can't remove its battery, reducing long-term longevity, and it has quite a few parts that need regular cleaning.
It's worth noting that there are multiple variants of this vacuum, though they only really differ in included attachments. Further information is provided in the Differences Between Variants section of the review.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is okay for bare floors. It clears pet hair as well as small debris without significant issue, but struggles with bulkier debris. Its bagless design and washable pre-motor and allergen-trapping HEPA filters mean that recurring costs are very low. It also has a fairly long battery life, but unfortunately, its battery isn't designed to be removed. There are also quite a few parts that need regular cleaning, and its small dustbin needs frequent emptying.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is an alright option for low-pile carpet. It doesn't have any trouble sucking up pet hair and clears the majority of larger debris, but it struggles quite a bit with sucking up particularly fine debris on this surface. In addition, it has many parts that need regular cleaning, though thankfully, it incurs low recurring costs. Parts of its mainly plastic construction also feel somewhat cheap.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is a sub-par option for cleaning high-pile carpet. It sucks up pet hair quite easily and does a relatively good job dealing with larger debris, but it's likely to take several passes to fully clean finer material. Its lightweight construction makes it fairly maneuverable, though it's worth noting that since it lacks a brushroll on/off switch, it can occasionally get stuck on high-pile rugs or rug tassels.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is a mediocre choice for pet owners. It has an allergen-trapping HEPA filter that's good at sealing in fine allergens like pet dander. Unfortunately, it has a really hard time with pet hair on carpets, but at the very least, the brushrolls for both floorheads and its turbo brush are easily removable, allowing you to clear any tangled hair wraps with minimal effort. While it incurs minimal recurring costs, it does have quite a few parts that need regular cleaning.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is great for vacuuming stairs. Its lightweight construction makes it easy to pick up and carry, and you can quickly reconfigure it into a handheld vacuum for clearing debris in tight spots. Its cordless design also ensures that you don't need to worry about tripping over an electrical cord while climbing or descending staircases. It also performs exceptionally well on bare surfaces like hardwood, though its performance on low and high-pile carpeted surfaces is mediocre.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is a very good option for vacuuming the inside of your car. Its cordless design allows you to clean all parts of your car's interior without needing to stay close to a power outlet. You can quickly reconfigure it into a compact handheld vacuum for clearing debris in smaller spaces. It comes with a turbo brush to clean messes on fabric-lined surfaces, not to mention a crevice tool for cleaning debris in tight corners, as well as a combination upholstery tool/dusting brush.
The Tineco PURE ONE X isn't designed for workshop cleaning. It can't be used to clear away liquid spills, and it's likely to be damaged if you were to use it to suck up things like wood or metal shavings.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is available in a couple of variants, which differ only in included attachments. We tested the flagship 'Tango' variant, which comes with more tools and accessories. You can see our test unit's label here.

Let us know in the discussions if you come across another variant of this vacuum, and we'll update our review.
The Tineco ONE X is a cordless stick vacuum. It delivers exceptional performance on bare floors, beating out alternatives like the JASHEN V16 on this surface type, and has an automatic suction power adjustment feature that's rare for a vacuum at its price point. However, its battery isn't removable, and it struggles with cleaning up fine debris on carpeted surfaces.
If you're looking for other options, see our recommendations for the best cordless stick vacuums, the best hardwood vacuums, and the best cordless vacuums for pet hair.
The Tineco PURE ONE S11 is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X. While the S11 has a shorter battery life than the X, its battery pack is removable and replaceable, so you can replace the battery if it loses charge capacity over time. The S11 also has a stronger suction motor and a redesigned multi-surface floorhead, so it does a better job cleaning debris embedded in carpet fibers, cracks, and crevices.
The Tineco PWRHERO 11 is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X. The PWRHERO is easier to maintain, has a larger dirt compartment, and has a more powerful suction motor that yields superior performance on carpeted surfaces. Its battery pack is also removable and replaceable, though the PURE ONE X's non-removable battery does last longer on a single charge. The PURE ONE X also comes with a wider assortment of tools and accessories, including a miniature turbo brush for cleaning fabric surfaces, and has a dirt sensor that allows it to automatically raise its suction power when it encounters an area with a significant amount of debris.
The Dyson V11 is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X for most uses. The Dyson has less demanding maintenance requirements, incurs virtually no recurring costs, has a bigger dustbin, is easier to maneuver, and performs notably better on low and high-pile carpets. Conversely, the Tineco is lighter, charges faster, and clears more debris on bare floors.
The Dyson V15 Detect is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X. The Dyson requires less maintenance and incurs virtually no recurring costs. It also has a bigger dustbin, uses a removable battery, is easier to maneuver, and performs better on carpeted surfaces. Meanwhile, the Tineco is lighter.
The Dyson V8 is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X. The Dyson has less demanding maintenance requirements, incurs virtually no recurring costs, has a larger-capacity dustbin, is easier to maneuver, and delivers significantly better performance on low and high-pile carpets. It also uses a removable, replaceable battery, though the Tineco charges faster and has a longer runtime. The Tineco also has an automatic suction power adjustment feature.
The Shark Rocket Pet Pro is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X. The Shark feels sturdier, has fewer parts that need to regular cleaning, has a larger dustbin, is easier to maneuver, and delivers superior performance on all surface types. Conversely, the Tineco comes with more attachments, has a lighter construction, and lasts longer on a charge, though, unlike the Shark, its battery isn't designed to be removed or replaced.
The Shark Vertex Pro Lightweight is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X. The Shark feels better-built, is easier to maintain, has a much larger dustbin, uses a removable, replaceable battery, is easier to maneuver, and clears more debris on carpeted floors. Meanwhile, the Tineco charges faster, has a slightly longer maximum runtime, weighs notably less, and comes with a turbo brush.
The Tineco S10 is a slightly better vacuum than the Tineco PURE ONE X. The S10 has fewer parts that need periodic cleaning, a dustbin that's roughly twice as spacious, and delivers noticeably better performance on carpets and crevices due to its more powerful motor. While it has a shorter battery life than the PURE ONE X, the S10's battery pack is removable and replaceable, so you can easily swap in a new pack if the current unit's performance degrades over time. On the other hand, there are a wide array of variants of the PURE ONE X, some of which come with a much wider array of attachments than the S10.
The Samsung Jet 90 Complete is better than the Tineco PURE ONE X for most uses. The Samsung has a much larger dustbin, charges faster, is easier to maneuver, and delivers better performance on carpeted surfaces. Meanwhile, the Tineco is lighter, lasts a little longer on a single charge, and has an automatic suction power adjustment feature.
The BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro and Tineco PURE ONE X are differently-designed vacuums with different intended uses. The BISSELL is a wet-compatible hybrid vacuum mop that does a better job with stains, thanks to its detergent-spraying feature. The BISSELL also has a larger dirt compartment and feels better built. However, the Tineco vacuum's cordless design allows you to carry it wherever you need it. It's also easier to maneuver, has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, clears more debris on bare floors, and you can use it as a handheld vacuum. The Tineco also comes with two separate floorheads, one for bare floors and the other for carpets.
The Wyze Cordless Vacuum is better for more uses than the Tineco PURE ONE X. The Wyze has fewer parts requiring regular maintenance, incurs virtually no recurring costs, has a larger internal dustbin, has a removable battery, is easier to maneuver, and performs better on low and high-pile carpet. The Tineco takes less time to recharge, has a longer maximum battery life, features an automatic suction power adjustment function, comes with more tools, and clears more debris on bare floors, especially bulkier material like cereal, which can get stuck in the entry to the Wyze's dustbin.
The Simplicity S65 and Tineco PURE ONE X each have advantages, meaning one may suit you better than the other, depending on your needs. The Simplicity has far fewer parts requiring regular maintenance and a dustbin that's roughly twice as large. It's also easier to maneuver and clears more debris on low and high-pile carpets. Meanwhile, the Tineco has an automatic suction power adjustment feature, comes with far more tools and accessories, and clears more debris on bare floors. It also charges faster and has a much longer battery life, though, unlike the Simplicity, the Tineco's battery isn't designed for removal.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is better than the JASHEN V16. The Tineco is lighter, has a longer maximum runtime, features an automatic suction power adjustment function, and clears far more debris on bare floors, especially bulky material like cereal. Meanwhile, the JASHEN is easier to maintain, incurs virtually no recurring costs, has a larger dustbin, and uses a removable battery.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is reasonably well-made. It's mainly made of plastic, though its wand is metal. The plastic used in its construction could feel sturdier, particularly its clear plastic dustbin. The lock for the door to its HEPA filter compartment can also open unintentionally. However, its included assortment of attachments is quite solid, and the vacuum itself is easy to disassemble for regular maintenance.
Out-of-the-box setup is fairly simple, only requiring that you plug in its charging station.
The Tineco PURE ONE X has many parts that need periodic cleaning.
You must air dry any part that's washed with water or with a damp cloth for at least 24 hours before using it again.
The Tineco PURE ONE X incurs low recurring costs.
You can buy a replenishment kit from the manufacturer that includes:
The Tineco PURE ONE X is fairly easy to store. It has a rack station to hold it upright, which also features a clip-on storage rack for its soft-bristle dustbin brush and turbo brush.
Note: The width of the vacuum and storage rack is 4.53" (11.5 cm).
The following attachment is exclusive to the PURE ONE X Essentials, PURE ONE X Pet, and PURE ONE X Dual variants:
The Tineco PURE ONE X is cordless, so its range is limited only by the room left in its dustbin and its remaining battery life.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is impressively portable. It's lighter than alternatives like the Simplicity S65, making it easier to pick up and carry from room to room.
The Tineco PURE ONE X offers decent battery performance. Using it in its 'Auto' suction power mode without any attachments yields a runtime of over 70 minutes while running it in its high-power 'MAX' suction mode with its wand and primary floorhead drops its battery life to a little over 10 minutes. It's in line with the manufacturer's advertised battery life of 12 to 70 minutes. Unfortunately, while the vacuum charges faster than alternatives like the JASHEN V16, its battery isn't removable. Its indicator light starts flashing red when its charge is low, though you can pair it with your smartphone to monitor its battery status in greater detail.
The Tineco PURE ONE X has a couple of quality-of-life features. You can change its suction power mode between the default 'Auto' and the high-power 'MAX' by pressing a button on top of its handle. There's also a 'Manual' suction power mode that allows you to use a slider to adjust its suction power with a little more precision. In its 'Auto' suction power mode, its onboard dust sensor detects the type of debris being sucked into the vacuum and allows it to change its suction power level to match. There's also a trigger lock that keeps the vacuum on without requiring that you hold the trigger down, which is good for longer cleaning sessions. You can also pair this vacuum with your smartphone and use its companion app to monitor its battery life, look at cleaning reports, and check reminders for its filter status.
The Tineco PURE ONE X Tango comes with a few attachments. There's a secondary floorhead with a soft brushroll for cleaning bare floors, a crevice tool for clearing messes in tight corners, a combination upholstery tool/soft-bristle dusting brush, and a turbo brush to help clean messes on fabric surfaces. It also comes with an attachment for cleaning its pre-filters as well as a hook-blade hair cleaning tool.
The PURE ONE X Dual variant comes with the soft-roller floorhead, an Anti-Tangle floorhead, the combination upholstery tool/soft-bristle dusting brush, and the crevice tool.
The PURE ONE X variant comes with the full-size multi-surface floorhead, the combination upholstery tool/soft-bristle dusting brush, the miniature turbo brush, and the crevice tool.
The PURE ONE X Essentials variant comes with a more rudimentary Anti-Tangle Floorhead, the combination upholstery tool/soft-bristle dusting brush, and the crevice tool.
The PURE ONE X Pet variant comes with an Anti-Tangle floorhead, the miniature turbo brush, and the crevice tool.
This vacuum's real-world suction power is unremarkable. Even with its soft roller head, it doesn't generate that tight a seal with the ground, and might have a hard time sucking up debris trapped within deeper crevices.
Airflow performance is okay. This vacuum lags some way behind higher-end models like the Samsung Jet 90, and consequently might have a little more trouble lifting away large amounts of heavy debris.
This isn't an overly noisy vacuum. In its default power setting, it can mask nearby conversation, but you won't notice it much at all if you're vacuuming in another room, even with the door left open.
The Tineco PURE ONE X is decently maneuverable. Its lightweight construction makes it easy to push around, and it can easily be reconfigured into a handheld vacuum and fitted with different tools to clear debris on furniture. However, it doesn't have a brushroll on/off switch, so its floorhead can sometimes get stuck on rug tassels. Its rotating head also doesn't articulate quite as smoothly or as responsively as some other stick vacuums.
This vacuum's pet hair pickup performance is good when it's used with its mini turbo brush tool. It can clear away the majority of hair within a single pass, though you might still have to switch to the straight-suction upholstery nozzle to get every last bit of shorter strands.
Thanks to its onboard HEPA filter, this vacuum's dustbin is effective in sealing in fine allergens.
The Tineco Life app is an unusual but welcome feature for a vacuum of this type. You can connect your phone to the vacuum over Wi-Fi by holding the 'Auto/Max' button for two seconds and then scanning the barcode at the back of the vacuum's body. The pairing process is pretty easy, and the app itself is responsive and exhibits minimal lag. Through the app, you can adjust the vacuum's power setting, see the remaining battery life, or check filter replacement and dustbin emptying times. You can also check usage details for past cleaning sessions, which includes a full breakdown of how certain power settings were used, as seen here.
