The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is a cordless, handheld vacuum. It comes with a fairly wide assortment of tools and accessories and has a relatively long battery life for a cordless handheld vacuum. It offers good overall performance on a wide variety of surface types too. Unfortunately, it has a small dirt compartment that needs emptying quite frequently. You can only purchase it from the manufacturer's website.

Our Verdict

7.0 Bare Floor

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is decent for cleaning bare floors. It does a fantastic job of sucking up pet hair and small debris like rice but struggles somewhat with bulkier debris like cereal. It's also fairly sturdily built and easy to carry around. Its relatively alright battery life should also give you enough time to deal with most messes on a single charge, though that can vary with real-world use. While it comes with a reasonably wide assortment of accessories, you can't use most of the included tools if you lose its included attachment adapter. Its dirt compartment is also very small.

Pros
  • Good build quality.
  • Relatively wide assortment of tools and accessories.
Cons
  • Can struggle with larger debris.
  • Small dirt compartment.
  • Need adapter in order to use most tools.
7.1 Low-Pile Carpet

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is a satisfactory option for cleaning low-pile carpet. It does a decent job for a vacuum that relies entirely on straight suction, but you'll need to go over the same spot more than once to clear away embedded debris. It isn't too demanding in terms of regular maintenance, and recurring costs are low, with the filter assembly being the only part that needs periodic replacing. However, its small dirt compartment needs frequent emptying.

Pros
  • Good build quality.
  • Relatively wide assortment of tools and accessories.
Cons
  • Can struggle with larger debris.
  • Small dirt compartment.
  • Need adapter in order to use most tools.
6.7 High-Pile Carpet

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is okay for cleaning high-pile carpet. Its straight suction design and lack of an included turbo brush tool means that it's incapable of providing much surface agitation on carpets. Its lightweight design and included extension hose make it fairly maneuverable, thankfully, while its dense plastic construction feels sturdy. Its maximum battery life of over 30 minutes is particularly notable for a handheld vacuum, but this can vary in the real world.

Pros
  • Good build quality.
  • Relatively wide assortment of tools and accessories.
Cons
  • Struggles slightly with fine debris.
  • Small dirt compartment.
  • Need adapter in order to use most tools.
6.2 Pets

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is a fair choice for cleaning up pet hair. It clears shed hair easily on bare floors but struggles on carpeting. On the upside, it has a HEPA filter to trap allergens as you clean. It's also well-built, decently easy to maintain, and incurs few recurring costs, as only its filter assembly needs replacing periodically. Unfortunately, it lacks a turbo brush or a dedicated pet grooming tool.

Pros
  • Good build quality.
  • Relatively wide assortment of tools and accessories.
  • On-board HEPA filter.
Cons
  • Need adapter in order to use most tools.
  • Lacks a turbo brush.
8.8 Stairs

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is great for dealing with messes on stairs. Its cordless design and compact, lightweight construction make it easy to carry up and down staircases. It delivers good overall performance on bare floors and low-pile carpeting. However, while it comes with a fairly broad assortment of tools, you have to make sure not to lose the included attachment adapter to keep using them. It also lacks a turbo brush to clear messes on upholstered surfaces.

Pros
  • Good build quality.
  • Lightweight construction.
  • Relatively wide assortment of tools and accessories.
Cons
  • Need adapter in order to use most tools.
  • Lacks a turbo brush.
8.6 Cars

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is impressively well-suited to cleaning the inside of your car. Since it's cordless, you don't need to worry about staying close to an electrical outlet. It comes with a wide selection of tools and accessories, including a crevice tool for tackling messes in tight corners, as well as a short extension hose to slightly extend your reach, though it lacks a turbo brush.

Pros
  • Good build quality.
  • Lightweight construction.
  • Relatively wide assortment of tools and accessories.
Cons
  • Need adapter in order to use most tools.
  • Lacks a turbo brush.
5.3 Workshop

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is a poor fit for workshop cleaning, though this isn't what it's designed for. It's good at dealing with most common household debris, but using it to deal with things like wood or metal shavings on a regular basis will result in long-term damage.

Pros
  • Good build quality.
  • Relatively wide assortment of tools and accessories.
Cons
  • Small dirt compartment.
  • Need adapter in order to use most tools.
  • Can't clear liquid spills.
  • 7.0 Bare Floor
  • 7.1 Low-Pile Carpet
  • 6.7 High-Pile Carpet
  • 6.2 Pets

  • 8.6 Cars

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is only available in one color variant: 'Black', and you can see its label here.

Let us know if you come across another variant, and we'll update our review.

Compared To Other Vacuums

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is a compact cordless vacuum designed for spot cleaning. It's similar in size to vacuums like the BISSELL AeroSlim/TurboSlim or eufy HomeVac H11 with longer maximum battery life, an onboard HEPA filter, and slightly better performance when clearing bulkier debris like cereal.

If you're looking for alternatives, take a look at our list of recommendations for the best handheld vacuums, the best handheld vacuums for pet hair, and the best car vacuums.

Shark WANDVAC

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is better than the Shark WANDVAC. The Wyze delivers better performance on bare floors and high-pile carpet, comes with a broader assortment of tools, lasts longer on a single charge, and has a larger dirt compartment. Meanwhile, the Shark has virtually no recurring costs and does a better job sucking up fine debris, like baking soda, from low-pile carpet.

HoLife HM036E

The HoLife HM036E and Wyze Handheld Vacuum each have their strengths, so one might be a better fit for you compared to another. The HoLife can be used to clean up liquid messes, though we don't currently test for this, and you should thoroughly clean the vacuum following this kind of use. The HoLife also struggles much less with bulky debris such as cereal and has a larger dirt compartment. Meanwhile, the Wyze has a suction power adjustment feature, a longer maximum battery life, and struggles less with larger material like sand on high-pile carpets.

Black+Decker dustbuster AdvancedClean+ Pet

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum and Black+Decker dustbuster AdvancedClean+ Pet perform better under different use cases, so one may be a better fit than the other, depending on your needs. The Wyze is smaller, lighter, delivers slightly better performance on low and high-pile carpets, and has an allergen-trapping HEPA filter. Despite taking much less time to recharge, it also has a similar battery life to the Black+Decker, though this can vary in the real world. However, the Black+Decker clears debris more effectively on bare floors, comes with a turbo brush, and has a bigger dirt compartment that doesn't need emptying as often.

Black+Decker 16V MAX dustbuster Cordless Hand Vacuum

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is better for most uses than the Black+Decker 16V MAX dustbuster Cordless Hand Vacuum. The Wyze is more compact, easier to carry around, has a much longer maximum battery life, and comes with more tools and accessories, as well as a HEPA filter to trap allergens as you clean. It also clears debris more effectively on low and high-pile carpet. Meanwhile, the Black+Decker has a much bigger dirt compartment and incurs fewer recurring costs.

Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ [CH951, CH964AMZ]

The Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ is better for most uses than the Wyze Handheld Vacuum. The Shark is easier to maintain, has a larger dirt compartment, and comes with a turbo brush for cleaning messes on upholstered surfaces. It also clears debris more effectively on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. The Wyze incurs lower recurring costs, is easier to store, lasts longer on a single charge, and comes with an extension hose to extend your reach.

eufy HomeVac H11

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is better than the eufy HomeVac H11. The Wyze has a HEPA filter to trap allergens as you clean, a power adjustment feature to boost suction power, and more tools. It also does a better job of clearing debris on almost every kind of surface type.

BISSELL AeroSlim/TurboSlim

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is better for most uses than the BISSELL AeroSlim/TurboSlim. The Wyze has a larger dirt compartment, an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, more tools and accessories, and delivers superior overall performance on bare floors, low-pile carpet, and high-pile carpet. Meanwhile, the BISSELL has virtually no recurring costs.

iRobot H1

The iRobot H1 and Wyze Handheld Vacuum have their advantages; one may suit you better than the other, depending on your needs. The iRobot has a bigger dirt compartment that needs emptying less often, a turbo brush for dealing with messes on upholstered surfaces, and superior performance on low and high-pile carpet. The Wyze does a better job of cleaning bare floors, is less demanding in regular maintenance, and incurs fewer recurring costs. It's also more maneuverable thanks to its smaller size.

Handheld

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum feels well-built. It's mainly made of solid-feeling plastic, though its clear plastic dirt compartment feels a little flimsy and could crack over time. That said, it still feels more solid than the eufy HomeVac H11's dirt compartment. No assembly is needed out of the box, and removing its dirt compartment or pulling out its filters are simple processes. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the extension hose, crevice tool, or soft bristle brush if you lose the included attachment adapter.

User Maintenance

This vacuum isn't too hard to maintain.

  • Dirt compartment: The dirt compartment can be emptied by pressing the quick-release button near the bottom of the part. You can completely remove it by rotating it against the vacuum body. It needs frequent emptying, and you can clean it out with water if necessary.
  • Filters: The lint screen and HEPA filter are located inside the dirt compartment. You can twist the assembly out of its housing, then pull out the HEPA filter from inside the pre-filter lint screen. Both filters should be cleaned with water within their estimated two to three-month service life.

All parts you clean with water should be left to dry for at least 24 hours before putting them back in the vacuum.

Performance
6.5
Performance
Hard Floor Pick-Up

This vacuum's performance on hard floors is okay. It's fairly effective at actually clearing away various kinds of material, but its bottom-facing exhaust vent can cause it to flow around any lightweight debris.

6.5
Performance
High-Pile Carpet Pick-Up

This vacuum delivers alright performance on high-pile carpet. It's good at dealing with large and medium-sized debris on this surface type, but you'll likely need to clean the same spot again to fully clear away heavily embedded finer debris.

7.0
Performance
Low-Pile Carpet Pick-Up

Performance on low-pile carpet is decent. As with its performance on bare floors, its bottom-facing vent can cause it to blow around lightweight debris. However, it is ultimately pretty effective at clearing away larger material.

5.0
Performance
Pet-Hair Pick-Up

This vacuum's pet hair cleaning performance on low-pile carpet is poor. Its straight suction nozzle does little to lift away strands of hair that have been lightly pressed into carpet fibers.

Using the flat nozzle does little to improve performance. Instead of providing more surface agitation, the attachment simply drags around lighter strands of hair.

Setting Used For Normal Default "Power Saving Mode"
Hose Diameter
1.0" (2.5 cm)

Like many other handheld models, this vacuum delivers great suction performance. It has little to do with the power of its motor and more with the fact that its suction inlet can form a very tight seal with flat surfaces.

3.9
Performance
Airflow
Maximum Hose Airflow
21.2 CFM (0.6 m³/min)

Suction performance is low but par the course for a handheld model. Its small suction motor simply isn't powerful enough to move large quantities of air and debris into its dustbin.

8.5
Performance
Noise
Bare Floor
69.9 dBA
Low-Pile Carpet
72.9 dBA

This vacuum is fairly quiet overall. You're likely to have some trouble hearing what people nearby are saying if they speak quietly, but it's far from unbearably loud, and it won't be too noticeable if you use it in another room.

7.5
Performance
Maneuverability

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum has good maneuverability. While it isn't well-suited to cleaning large areas, the included assortment of tools and accessories make it easier to clean hard-to-reach areas, like the crevices between couch cushions or underneath tables.

7.5
Performance
Pet Hair Furniture Performance
Sofa Pickup Post Test

This vacuum's pet hair cleaning performance on furniture is good, though it must be used in its 'Powerful' setting for improved overall performance. Using it in its default 'Power Saving' mode results in sub-par pet hair pickup performance.

The Wyze Handheld Vacuum does a good job of sealing in fine allergens. It's one of the few handheld models we've tested that has an allergen-trapping HEPA filter.

This vacuum is good at clearing out debris in cracks and crevices. Its inlet forms a tight seal with flat surfaces, like tile floors, so it won't have too much trouble cleaning areas like grout lines.
