Discovering the best brand for you depends on your desired capacity, features, and price. The best air fryers make evenly cooked food without drying out or burning a large proportion. If you want to use your air fryer for other cooking methods, like baking and dehydrating, a range of settings and fan speeds is also worth considering.

We've tested more than 35 air fryers, and below is an overview of the best air fryer brands. We haven't ordered these picks by performance; instead, they're listed alphabetically, so you can pick the one that best matches your needs.

  1. Beautiful

Beautiful, also known as Beautiful by Drew Barrymore, is a collaboration by the actress and 'Made by Gather,' which is also the parent company of BELLA. The brand mainly produces kitchenware products, including blenders, toasters, and cookware sets, but their lineup also includes some home goods. Regardless of the category, Beautiful's products stand out for their design. Unlike most kitchen appliances, theirs come in a wide array of colors with options like 'Oyster Grey' and 'Thyme Green.' Their small lineup of air fryers ranges from 3- to 9-quart models, and while they may not always be the fastest or most versatile on the market, they offer reasonable performance overall and produce decent-quality fried food at a budget-friendly price. The brand's products are available exclusively at Walmart.

The Beautiful 6qt Digital is a sleek model that offers good performance at a great price. It holds the spot for the best cheap air fryer in our recommendations for the best budget and cheap air fryers, performing impressively well compared to options at a similar price point. It makes good-quality fried food and finishes cooking pretty quickly. On the downside, it's not the most versatile model. Higher-end options tend to offer more preset cooking modes and a wider range of temperature and fan speed settings, whereas this one is somewhat limited, with a particularly low maximum fan speed that hinders its performance somewhat.

  2. BELLA

BELLA is another kitchenware brand owned by 'Made by Gather,' which is also the parent company of Drew Barrymore's 'Beautiful by Drew.' The brand focuses on budget-friendly products, including blenders and air fryers. While the BELLA products we test don't always offer the absolute best performance, if you want to try this new-fangled appliance without spending too much, BELLA air fryers provide reasonable performance at a lower price. However, they don't always offer a wide range of fan speeds and may not be as well-suited for those who want to experiment with different cooking methods in their air fryer, like baking and dehydrating. That being said, they tend to work well for classic air fryer meals, like chicken wings or drumsticks, and crispy sides like Brussels sprouts or cauliflower bites.

The BELLA 6qt Pro 90165 is the best option from the brand we've tested, and it's featured as the budget pick in our recommendations for the best small air fryers. This model's basket has less space for arranging food in a single layer than other 6-quart options, like the Beautiful 6qt Digital. With only one fan speed, it also lacks versatility, making it a less-than-ideal choice for proofing dough, baking, or dehydrating. Still, it delivers solid air-frying performance and works pretty quickly, making it a great entry-level option.

  3. COSORI

COSORI is an American-based company and one of a few brands owned by the Chinese parent company VeSync. Along with air fryers, they produce a variety of small appliances, including multi-cookers, food dehydrators, and kettles. Their products are generally more expensive than Ninja's but have a sleek, modern look. Some models also offer app connectivity, so you can look up recipes and monitor your food as it cooks. Like Ninja, most of COSORI's air fryers have square baskets, which provide more surface area to spread food out in a single layer, compared to round baskets. They feature digital controls that enable more precise adjustments, and most models have a slanted control panel, making it easy to read when standing above the appliance on your counter.

The COSORI TurboBlaze is an excellent medium-sized air fryer. It features on our list of the best air fryers overall. This model produces good-quality air-fried food and has a larger cooking surface area than other options with the same capacity. Unlike most manufacturers, COSORI provides the fan speed for each setting in the manual. This is helpful if you want to use your air fryer for alternate cooking methods, since you can use a medium fan speed for baking and a lower fan speed for dehydrating. However, while it cooks quickly, it preheats somewhat slowly and maintains a less stable temperature throughout than the Ninja Foodi DZ550, making it more difficult to follow recipes accurately.

  4. Dreo

Dreo is an American-based brand with a parent company based in China. Interestingly, they primarily make air treatment products, like air conditioners, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers. However, they also have a small line of kitchen products, including a water filter, a milk frother, and an air fryer. Their products have a focus on technological innovation. Many feature app control and smart home integration, as well as product-specific smart features, like real-time water quality monitoring in a water purifier.

The brand only produces one air fryer, the Dreo ChefMaker, but it's a popular model that offers very good performance. Like many of Dreo's products, it includes some interesting special features, the main one being 'Chef Mode,' which is meant to make cooking tricky recipes, and especially cuts of meat, easier. Once you choose a recipe, it provides instructions and tips for preparation, and then uses the built-in misting feature and thermometer to track the cooking process and fine-tune your recipe. It also offers app connectivity, so you can send recipe information straight to the air fryer. Compared to other models, it performs well, making good-quality fried food very quickly. However, beyond its Chef Mode feature, it only offers decent versatility, mainly due to its limited fan speed range. As a result, it's not the best choice for dehydrating, proofing dough, or baking.

  5. Gourmia

Gourmia has a huge lineup of air fryers, including tiny 2-quart options for snacks and dual-basket models suitable for preparing full meals. Most models include convenience features like a 'Turn Reminder' and preheat mode, and feature square baskets that help maximize cooking surface area. Some Gourmia models come in several colors, like pink or green, which isn't overly common for air fryers and might be a plus if aesthetics are a priority. However, while most models have a variety of presets for different foods like 'Fries' or 'Bacon,' they don't always have modes for other cooking methods that actually adjust the fan speed.

The Gourmia GAF798 is currently difficult to find in stock, but if you can get your hands on one, this 7-quart air fryer produces good-quality air-fried food. The 'Turn Reminder' feature will indicate when to flip or shake your food, and the dedicated preheat mode lets you know when it's fully heated. However, while it has modes like 'Broil' and 'Bake,' they don't correspond with different fan speeds and instead act as suggested time and temperature presets. The 'Dehydrate' mode lowers the fan speed, but only slightly, so it's not the best option if you want a versatile air fryer.

  6. Ninja

Ninja is a popular U.S.-based manufacturer that makes a wide variety of small kitchen appliances, including blenders and air fryers. This brand is a good starting point if you're looking for a mid-range option. They make air fryers in various shapes and sizes, but Ninja's lineup of dual-basket models really shines. Air fryers perform better when you arrange your food in a single layer, and as a result, it's worth considering a large-capacity model if you have space for it, even if you usually prepare food only for yourself or one other person. The brand's products occupy every spot on our list of the best large-capacity air fryers, and all feature fairly shallow, square baskets, which help maximize usable capacity. Ninja's dual-basket models allow you to use a single basket for smaller snacks or both baskets to cook different foods with separate settings. Most models offer a variety of presets that vary the fan speed for various cooking methods, such as dehydrating.

The 10-quart Ninja Foodi DZ550 has a big cooking surface area and produces great-quality air-fried food. Your snacks and meals come out mostly evenly browned and crispy, with just a small proportion under- or overcooked. Like other dual-basket Ninja air fryers, you can use the 'Smart Finish' setting when cooking with different settings in each basket so that each side is done at the same time. This high-end model features a built-in thermometer that allows the air fryer to cook meat to a specific temperature.

  7. Typhur

Current Deal: The Typhur Dome 2 has dropped in price by $110.00 at Amazon.com.
    SEE DEAL

Typhur, like Dreo, is a technology-focused brand with a limited product lineup. They make a few different types of products, including countertop appliances, like a sous vide station and countertop oven, as well as a line of precise, Wi-Fi-connected meat thermometers. Each of their products utilizes technology to simplify the cooking process, featuring app support, real-time temperature monitoring, and built-in wireless thermometers.

The Typhur Dome 2 is a futuristic-looking 5.7-quart air fryer with a wide design that offers plenty of surface area for cooking, even more than the 10-quart Ninja Foodi DZ550. Notably, it has enough space for a whole 12-inch pizza, and Typhur says that its dual heating elements make this air fryer a particularly good choice for this use, as the bottom burner ensures the crust comes out crispy. It performed well in our tests, producing very good-quality fried food with a 250 g batch of fries. Even with a double batch, its performance only suffered slightly, making it a good choice if you need to cook large quantities of food. It's pretty versatile as well, offering 10 distinct cooking modes and even a self-cleaning cycle, which uses high heat to burn off grease. On the downside, this isn't the fastest model; it preheats very slowly, but cooks a bit quicker.
