The Typhur Dome 2 is a large, single-basket air fryer with a 5.7-quart capacity, which is enough to serve three to four people. It features a wide, rounded basket with enough space to fit a 12-inch pizza, and heating elements on the top and bottom of the cooking chamber. There are quite a few presets for various cooking methods and foods, such as Toast, Grill, Pizza, and Wings, along with additional options in the companion app, which also lets you adjust settings on your phone or consult a proprietary AI for recipe ideas. There's also a self-cleaning function; it uses high heat to remove grease and residue.
Our Verdict
The Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer works well for French fries. Its extra-wide basket gives you plenty of space to spread out a few portions of frozen fries, homestyle hash browns, or fresh-cut wedges, and no matter what you're making, you get good results. Batches of frozen shoestring or julienne-style fries come out very quickly and evenly cooked, with just a small portion that isn't quite crispy enough. Fresh-cut or brined batons or wedges come out very crispy, too, and while they take a little longer to cook, you still don't have to wait too long. Just keep in mind that this is a large air fryer, so you have to dedicate a good deal of counter space to it.
Cooks and crisps food very evenly, no matter what you're making.
Cooks a range of recipes very quickly.
Larger surface area that most similar-capacity models.
Large countertop footprint takes up a lot of space.
Preheats slowly and reheats after opening the drawer slowly.
The Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer offers impressive performance for chicken wings. It has enough surface area to lay out a large batch of wings in one layer, improving airflow for crispier results. Thanks to this extra space and its steady high heat, this air fryer makes a great batch of fresh wings fast. Regardless of your recipe, cooking wings from scratch yields a tender, juicy interior and an evenly crispy exterior. Precooked breaded wings come out even faster and crisp up very evenly. By the time the batch is ready, just a couple of wings aren't quite browned enough. On the downside, this model takes a while to preheat, and it reheats slowly once you add food, so it takes a few extra minutes before cooking really gets underway.

Larger surface area that most similar-capacity models.

The Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer makes crispy, evenly cooked air-fried food. Whether you're making a quick plate of frozen fries or something bulkier with a higher moisture content, like a batch of wings or even a steak, you get great results. Frozen fried foods, like onion rings or spring rolls, come out very crispy, with just a small portion that doesn't get brown enough. Proteins that need consistent high heat for even browning come out crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and those that do better with steady low temperatures cook well, too, coming out tender and moist. It's impressively versatile as well, with a wide range of settings and cooking modes, so you can use it for a variety of culinary tasks, like dehydrating, reheating, and toasting. That said, you need to use the companion app to access the full list of features. Unfortunately, its top fan speed isn't very fast, which impacts how quickly it preheats and reheats after you open the drawer to add food.

Larger surface area that most similar-capacity models.
Wide range of settings adds versatility for dehydrating, baking, and more.
Preheats slowly and reheats after opening the drawer slowly.
App required to access full list of cooking modes.
The Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer has a capacity of 5.7 quarts, which is enough to serve three to four people. However, its basket has a larger surface area than most similar-capacity air fryers, giving you space to spread out larger batches of food for better results or to cook a 12-inch pizza.
5.7-quart capacity can make 3-4 servings.
Larger surface area that most similar-capacity models.
The Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer preheats slowly, and it reheats slowly after you open the drawer to add food, but it cooks quickly. Fries, spring rolls, and other frozen fried foods cook exceptionally fast. Bulkier foods and those with higher moisture content aren't ready as quickly, but they still cook quickly.
Cooks a range of recipes very quickly.
Preheats slowly and reheats after opening the drawer slowly.
The Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer is very large. It takes up a lot of countertop real estate, and if you want to put it away when not in use, you have to dedicate a significant amount of storage space to it.
Large countertop footprint takes up a lot of space.

Popular Air Fryer Comparisons
The Typhur Dome 2 is a 5.7-quart air fryer with a unique design. It has a wide, rounded shape that provides much more surface area than most similarly sized models. For example, this air fryer has a slightly smaller capacity than the Ninja Crispi Pro AS101, but more than twice as much surface area in its basket. In fact, it has more room to spread food out in a single layer than some much larger-capacity models, like the Ninja Foodi DZ550, which has 10 quarts of capacity, but less surface area than the Typhur, even between its two baskets. The extra space improves airflow, which particularly benefits foods with higher moisture content, such as whole proteins. Making a batch of wings with the Typhur, for example, gives you crispier results than with either the Ninja Foodi or the Ninja Crsipi.
Like the Typhur Sync Air Fryer, this model comes with access to a companion app. The app adds extra cooking modes, lets you fine-tune settings from your phone, and includes a proprietary AI feature that can suggest or adjust recipes based on your available ingredients or the number of servings you want to make. While some users appreciate the added convenience, you may also find it frustrating that common cooking modes like bake, dehydrate, and broil aren't accessible on the machine itself.

The Typhur Sync Air Fryer and the Typhur Dome 2 both perform well at air frying simple sides and snacks like fries, onion rings, and precooked chicken wings, but the Dome 2 does a better job with raw proteins. Cooking a batch of wings with the Dome 2, for example, delivers results that are more tender inside and crispier outside. The Dome 2 is also large enough to accommodate a 12-inch pizza, which isn't common for an air fryer. Ultimately, either model is a good choice if you only plan to make mostly frozen fried foods, but if you want to make a range of recipes, go with the Dome 2.
The Ninja Foodi DZ071 is a better air fryer for most people than the Typhur Dome 2. Both models have shallow, roomy baskets that allow you to spread food out in a single layer for very good-quality fried food. However, the Ninja preheats and cooks more quickly. It takes up less space on your countertop, too, while giving you the option to use one large basket or to divide it and cook with different settings on each side. The Ninja is also more versatile. It has a wider range of temperature settings and fan speeds, making it more useful if you want to test out a variety of cooking methods with your air fryer. That said, the Typher Dome 2 has some special features, like a self-cleaning cycle and particularly quiet operation, so you may still prefer it.
The Typhur Dome 2 and BELLA Pro Series 6qt 90165 are both good air fryers, but they have different strengths, and you may prefer either depending on your priorities. The Typhur makes slightly better-quality fried food, likely due to the increased surface area in its basket and higher maximum power draw. It's more versatile as well, with a wider temperature range and variable fan speed. On the other hand, the BELLA preheats and cooks more quickly, takes up less counter space, and comes with a much smaller price tag.
The Typhur Dome 2 is a better air fryer than the thinkkitchen Retro Air Fryer for most people. It makes better-quality fried food, leaving less of each batch undercooked. While it takes longer to preheat, it cooks food faster and maintains a more stable cooking temperature. It's more versatile, too, with a wider range of temperature and fan-speed settings, as well as more preset cooking modes. That said, the Typhur is quite a large model, and you may prefer the thinkkitchen if you have limited space and don't mind a simpler, less expensive option.
Test Results
Its basket has a much larger surface area than other air fryers, even those with a larger overall capacity. For example, the Ninja DZ550's dual baskets have a combined capacity of 10 quarts, compared to the Typhur's 5.7 quarts, but their combined surface area is still less than the Typhur's. The roomy basket can accommodate an entire 12-inch pizza and makes it very easy to spread food out in a single layer for the crispiest results. It has a ceramic coating, which can be harder to clean, but you may prefer it if you avoid PTFE materials.
The Typhur Dome 2 air fryer's 5.7-quart capacity is enough to serve three to four people at a time, depending on the dish. Like the crisper tray, the basket has a ceramic coating.
This air fryer is impressively versatile. It has a wide range of temperature settings, and its fan speed gets low enough for dehydrating or proofing dough. Unfortunately, while Typhur rates its top fan speed at 3400RPM, in our testing, we were only able to reach a maximum of 2060RPM, which limits how quickly it can crisp up food. This lower fan speed could be set to help increase the motor's lifespan or to help reduce noise.
It offers a wide variety of cooking modes and presets for various foods, both on the air fryer itself and through the companion app.

It also has a self-cleaning mode, which you can access through the app or by pressing and holding the Grill and Reheat buttons for two seconds for a regular clean or four seconds for a deep clean.
This air fryer makes very good-quality fried food. Onion rings, chicken nuggets, and egg rolls come out mostly crispy and well-browned, with a smaller portion left undercooked.
Since many users are interested in cooking larger quantities of food in this air fryer, we also tested it (and the Ninja Speedi SF301 for comparison) with a double batch of fries. As expected, the Typhur's cooking speed and frying quality were affected, but even though it took much longer to cook, it still produced good-quality fries. The Ninja, on the other hand, saw a significant decline in both cooking time and frying quality. With a regular-sized batch, it produced great-quality fried food, but when the batch size was increased, the results were disappointing.
The Ninja has a slightly higher maximum power draw, and its fan reaches a higher speed as well, so this difference is likely due to the Typhur's very large basket surface area. It's twice the size of the Ninja's basket, so we were able to spread the fries out in a single layer. Cooking 500 g of fries in the Ninja requires piling them on top of one another, restricting airflow, and leading to sub-par results.
This air fryer is a great choice for cooking meat and poultry. When you're making a batch of wings, sausages, or pork belly slices, each batch comes out quite evenly cooked, with a crisp exterior and a tender interior.
Thanks to its fairly stable temperature and wide range of settings, you can make a variety of proteins with good results. Using a low-heat setting to slow-roast a rack of ribs yields evenly cooked, moist, and tender meat. Or, using a high heat setting allows you to quickly sear a steak, giving it a good crust across the whole surface.
Fries, chicken nuggets, and other small frozen snacks and sides cook remarkably fast. While thicker, moist foods, like whole proteins and veggies, take longer, they still cook pretty quickly.
This air fryer takes a long time to preheat, so you have to wait an extra couple of minutes before adding food to the basket.
This air fryer provides alright temperature stability. After you open the drawer to add food, it takes a long time for the cooking chamber to heat back up, which can make it tricky to time recipes correctly. That said, once it heats back up, it stays pretty close to the selected temperature.
