The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 is an 8-quart dual-basket air fryer with removable glass cooking containers. It offers six cooking presets, including Air Fry, Max Crisp, Roast, Bake, Recrisp, and Dehydrate, and allows you to cook two foods at once with separate settings, or sync them so both finish at the same time. The glass containers double as serving and storage dishes when paired with the included lids, and the fryer baskets have a ceramic non-stick coating. It also comes in four colors, which can help it better match your kitchen decor if it's always going to have a home on your counter.
Our Verdict
The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 is very good for air frying, producing food that's mostly crispy and evenly cooked. It heats up quickly, holds a stable temperature, and covers enough cooking methods to handle most everyday meals. The dual cooking chambers are a nice touch, too, making it easy to prepare two foods at once with separate settings.
Preheats and cooks quickly.
Produces mostly crispy, evenly browned results.
Maintains a reasonably stable temperature while cooking.
Some pieces can remain undercooked when the rest of the batch is ready.
The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 is a good choice for cooking larger batches. Its combined 8-quart capacity offers enough room to feed a family, and it cooks quickly enough that you're not stuck waiting long between rounds if you do need to cook in batches. That capacity is split across two chambers, though, so each basket works best for smaller portions, like a couple of chicken breasts or a few servings of fries, rather than bulkier items like a whole chicken or a large batch of vegetables.

Offers a large cooking capacity across both chambers.

Each individual chamber has limited space for larger foods.
The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 does a good job of frying food, with most results coming out crispy and cooked evenly throughout. Heat recovery after adding food is reasonably quick, and the temperature stays fairly consistent for the remainder of the cook. The main drawback is chamber size: the limited surface area in each basket makes it harder to arrange larger batches in a single layer, which can leave a few pieces undercooked while the rest finish on time.

The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 cooks food quickly and preheats in very little time, so you can get started sooner and spend less time waiting for your food to be ready.

The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 offers good overall cooking capacity. Its 8-quart total capacity provides enough room for family-sized meals or cooking two different foods at once. That capacity is split between two chambers, though, so each individual basket runs relatively small, which can make it harder to fit larger items like a whole chicken or a big roast.
Offers a large cooking capacity across both chambers.
Takes up relatively little counter space for its capacity.
Each individual chamber has limited space for larger foods.
The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 has a fairly compact footprint for a dual-basket air fryer, making it easy enough to fit on most countertops. That said, it weighs over 30 pounds, so it's not especially convenient to move in and out of storage.
Takes up relatively little counter space for its capacity.
Heavy and cumbersome to move in and out of storage.

Popular Air Fryer Comparisons
The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 is Ninja's first dual-basket air fryer with glass cooking chambers, blending the flexibility of independently controlled zones with the visibility and convenience of removable glass containers. Among Ninja's other dual-basket models, which use more traditional ceramic drawers, the DD101 doesn't quite match the Ninja Foodi DZ550 on cooking capacity or frying performance, since the DZ550's bigger baskets give food more room to spread into a single layer and cook evenly. It does outperform the Ninja Foodi DZ401, producing more consistent frying results with fewer overcooked pieces, though the DZ401's larger 10-quart capacity makes it the better choice for bigger batches or feeding a crowd.
Among the other glass-chamber air fryers, the DD101 cooks noticeably faster than the single-chamber Ninja Crispi Pro AS101 and lets you handle two foods at once, which comes in handy when different parts of a meal need different settings or cook times. The AS101 still has an edge for larger foods like a roast or whole fish, since its single uninterrupted chamber can fit what the DD101's smaller baskets can't. Moving out of the Ninja lineup, the DD101 cooks noticeably more evenly than the single-chamber glass Fritaire, so you end up with crisper food and fewer undercooked or overdone pieces, and it heats up faster and holds its temperature more steadily throughout.

The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 and Ninja Foodi DZ401 serve different purposes. Both are dual-basket air fryers with independently controlled cooking zones, but the DD101 is the better pick if frying consistency and glass cooking chambers matter most to you. It fries more evenly, with fewer pieces turning out overcooked before the rest of the batch reaches a proper crisp, and its removable glass containers let you keep an eye on food as it cooks and double as dishes for serving or storage. The DZ401 is better suited to families or larger groups, thanks to its bigger 10-quart capacity and wider baskets, which leave more room for larger batches and bulkier ingredients. It also covers a wider temperature range for methods like broiling and dehydrating.
The Ninja Foodi DZ550 is the better choice for most people over the Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101. Both are dual-basket air fryers with independently controlled cooking zones, but the DZ550's larger 10-quart capacity and wider baskets make it easier to spread food into a single layer, resulting in crispier, more evenly browned food when cooking large batches. It also preheats and cooks faster, holds a steadier cooking temperature, and includes a built-in temperature probe that can automatically tell when proteins like steak or chicken are done. The DD101 is still worth considering if you'd rather cook in glass than plastic, or if you like that its removable containers can go straight from the air fryer to the table or the fridge.
The Ninja Foodi FlexBasket DZ071 is the better air fryer overall than the Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101. It offers slightly better frying performance, more cooking surface, steadier temperatures, and greater all-around versatility, and its removable divider lets you switch between one large chamber or two separate zones. Still, the DualZone has its appeal if you'd rather have glass cooking containers that double as serving and storage dishes, or if fully separate chambers matter more to you than flexibility.
The Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 is the better choice for everyday air frying compared to the Dreo ChefMaker. It cooks more consistently, splits into two independently controlled zones, and uses a ceramic non-stick coating instead of the ChefMaker's PTFE coating, a plus for anyone looking to avoid PTFE-based cookware. The ChefMaker could be the better fit if you cook a lot of meat or fish, given its built-in temperature probe, water-misting system, and cooking programs built specifically around proteins.

This is quite a heavy air fryer, around 30 lbs, so if you plan on storing it in a cupboard between uses, keep in mind that it can be a bit cumbersome to move.
With an 8-quart cooking chamber, there's plenty of room for family-sized meals or cooking two different foods at the same time. The glass construction makes it easy to keep an eye on food as it cooks without having to open the chamber and let heat escape. The ceramic non-stick coating also makes cleanup simpler, and it's a good option for anyone who prefers to avoid PTFE-based non-stick materials.
This unit offers great cooking versatility. Its dual cooking chambers let you prepare two different foods at once, each with its own settings, or cook the same food in both chambers simultaneously. The included smaller containers also come in handy for smaller portions. With a wide temperature range and dedicated modes for high-heat crisping, roasting, baking, reheating, and dehydrating, it's well-suited to a variety of recipes.
There are six preset cooking modes:
- Air Fry: 300 °F-400 °F, maximum fan speed
- Max Crisp: 450 °F
- Recrisp: 300 °F-400 °F
- Roast: 250 °F-400 °F
- Bake: 250 °F-400 °F
- Dehydrate: 105 °F-195 °F, minimum fan speed.
This air fryer makes very good-quality fried food. Batches of wings, fries, or frozen appetizers will come out crispy and well-browned. The exception is a handful of pieces that cook more slowly than the rest, leaving them underdone even after the majority is finished.
It has good temperature stability. After you add food, it takes a little while to recover to the set temperature. That said, once it does, it maintains a reasonably consistent cooking temperature, so cooking results tend to be more predictable. It isn't quite as well-suited, though, to recipes that require especially precise temperature control.
