While you might associate air fryers with quick, crispy snacks like French fries and chicken wings, models with a capacity of around 7 quarts or more can work as an alternative to your regular oven for meals. The largest models can handle main courses like a whole chicken or a rack of ribs and produce bigger batches of sides, such as Brussels sprouts and cauliflower. Since a larger cooking surface yields better air-frying results, you may want to consider a large-capacity air fryer if you have the space. Many of the largest air fryers are also dual-basket models, allowing you to cook different foods on each side or use just one basket for smaller portions.
We've tested more than 40 air fryers, and below are our top picks for the best large-capacity air fryers. For other options, take a look at our recommendations for the best air fryers overall, the best air fryers for French fries, or the best air fryer/toaster ovens.

Best Large-Capacity Air Fryer
Air Frying8.2Large Batch Cooking8.5Cooking Capacity8.6Measured Capacity10.1 qt (9.6 L)Nonstick Coating TypeCeramicSee all our test resultsDual Cooking ChambersYesThe best large air fryer we've tested is the Ninja Foodi DZ550, a 10.1-quart, dual-basket model with helpful features that make cooking for the whole family easy. It's a powerful air fryer with a high maximum fan speed and a large cooking surface area across both baskets. This gives you ample space to arrange food in a single layer for more even results and ensures that your food gets crispy very quickly. As a result, it produces very evenly air-fried food, with only a small proportion left mushy or burnt at the end of the cooking process. It's also very versatile, offering a wide range of temperature and fan speed settings for different cooking methods, like broiling and dehydrating.
Conveniently, you can prepare different foods in each basket with individual settings, so you can make a main and a side, or keep vegetarian and meat-based meals separate. The 'Smart Finish' setting automatically syncs up the baskets, so both sides finish cooking simultaneously. This model also includes a built-in thermometer that lets you automatically cook meat to a specific internal temperature.

Best Upper Mid-Range Large-Capacity Air Fryer
Air Frying7.9Large Batch Cooking8.4Cooking Capacity8.6Measured Capacity10.1 qt (9.6 L)Nonstick Coating TypeCeramicSee all our test resultsDual Cooking ChambersYesIf you want a large-capacity air fryer at a more digestible price, consider the Ninja Foodi DZ401. Like the Ninja Foodi DZ550, it has a 10.1-quart capacity, and while it can't match its pricier sibling's performance, it comes very close. It's also a dual basket model with enough surface area in both baskets to make arranging food in a single layer easy. That said, its main disadvantage compared to our top pick is its frying quality. While it still produces decent results, it leaves more of each batch under- or overcooked. It also preheats and cooks quickly, so you don't have to wait long for it to finish cooking.
Like the DZ550, it's quite versatile, with settings for alternate cooking methods, such as 'Bake' and 'Dehydrate,' and the same Smart Finish feature that lets you finish cooking two completely different recipes simultaneously. On the other hand, it doesn't come with a temperature probe, so you have to keep an eye on the doneness of meats like steak or chicken.

Best Mid-Range Large-Capacity Air Fryer
Air Frying8.0Large Batch Cooking8.2Cooking Capacity8.2Measured Capacity7.1 qt (6.7 L)Nonstick Coating TypeCeramicSee all our test resultsDual Cooking ChambersYesDual-basket air fryers let you cook two recipes at once, but if you'd rather have a single large cooking area, you might prefer the Ninja Foodi DZ071. This 7.1-quart air fryer features a spacious basket that can accommodate larger items, such as a whole chicken. Plus, if you want to air fry your main and side dishes separately, you can divide the basket, apply individual settings to each dish, and use Smart Finish, just like with the Ninja Foodi DZ401. That said, the sides of the basket aren't as well-isolated as completely separate baskets would be, so it might not work as well if you need to use very different settings on each side. The big basket is also a bit awkward to hold onto, so checking on your food and cleaning are a little more difficult.
This model cooks quite evenly, so most of your food comes out well-cooked and crispy without being overdone. It's a little slower than its higher-end siblings, but still works impressively fast compared to most other models. Conversely, it actually outperforms the previous picks in terms of versatility. While it offers the same list of preset cooking modes, it can reach a slightly lower temperature and fan speed, which is handy for tasks like proofing dough and dehydrating.

Best Budget Large-Capacity Air Fryer
Air Frying7.2Large Batch Cooking7.9Cooking Capacity8.4Measured Capacity9.2 qt (8.8 L)Nonstick Coating TypePTFESee all our test resultsDual Cooking ChambersYesThe best large-capacity air we've tested at a budget-friendly price is the Beautiful 9QT TriZone. It's a 9.2-quart model and, like the Ninja Foodi DZ071, has a removable divider in its basket, so it can be used as a single-basket or dual-basket air fryer. Despite its bigger overall capacity, it has a smaller cooking surface area. It's more difficult to spread food out, which affects how evenly it cooks. It still makes decent-quality air fryer staples, but by the time most of your food is crispy, there's still a pretty large portion left undercooked. It doesn't cook very quickly, either, so you'll have to wait a few extra minutes for your recipes to finish.
The biggest benefit of this air fryer is its versatility. While its top fan speed is just mediocre, contributing to slower, less even cooking, it can reach a very low fan speed and offers a wide range of temperature settings. This makes it an excellent choice if you want to experiment with using an air fryer for alternative cooking methods without breaking the bank. You can use it to dehydrate, roast, bake, broil, or reheat leftovers. Like most Beautiful products, this air fryer comes in a range of colors, like 'Lavender' and 'Cornflower Blue,' so you can find one in a shade that matches your decor.

Best Cheap Large-Capacity Air Fryer
Air Frying6.9Large Batch Cooking8.6Cooking Capacity9.7Measured Capacity9.8 qt (9.3 L)Nonstick Coating TypeNo CoatingSee all our test resultsDual Cooking ChambersNoIf you want to spend as little as possible on a large-capacity air fryer, the Chefman Multifunctional Air Fryer+ might be a good fit. It's a tall 9.8-quart oven-style air fryer with room to stack three wire racks inside its cooking chamber. This design offers much more cooking surface area than the basket-style air fryers listed above, making it very easy to spread food out for better results. However, despite this additional space, oven-style air fryers tend to cook less evenly than basket-style models, and this option is no different. It leaves just over half of each batch crispy, while undercooking or burning the rest. It cooks a little faster than the Beautiful 9QT TriZone, though.
Unsurprisingly, at this price point, this air fryer is not very versatile. It has a fairly wide temperature range, but its fan speed range is very limited, changing only slightly across various cooking modes. Although the manufacturer advertises 17 preset cooking modes, most are just modes for either air frying, baking, or dehydrating different foods. With such a high minimum fan speed, baked goods are likely to dry out, and dehydrating food is likely to fly around the cooking chamber as it gets lighter, so it's really best-suited just for air frying. On the bright side, there's a light in the cooking chamber and a window in the door, so you can keep an eye on your food as it cooks.

Best Large-Capacity Air Fryer For Pizza
Air Frying7.5Large Batch Cooking8.2Cooking Capacity8.7Measured Capacity5.7 qt (5.4 L)Nonstick Coating TypeCeramicSee all our test resultsDual Cooking ChambersNoIf you need even more surface area, you might be interested in the Typhur Dome 2. While its smaller 5.7-quart capacity doesn't quite meet the threshold for large capacity, its shallow basket has more surface area than any of the models listed here, so you can cook items that don't fit in a standard air fryer. It has dual heating elements, one above and one below the cooking chamber, which the manufacturer says makes it ideal for pizza. Since it has such a roomy basket, we tested it with a regular and a double batch of fries. In both cases, it cooked very evenly, making fries that were mostly crispy and well-cooked. That said, it's not the fastest option out there. It cooked decently fast with a regular batch of fries, but took significantly longer with a double batch.
This air fryer is impressively versatile. It has a wide range of temperature settings and can reach a very low fan speed, making it a great option for proofing dough, baking, and dehydrating. Unfortunately, its top fan speed isn't very fast, which partially explains its slower cooking speed. On the plus side, it features a self-cleaning mode, making clean-up much easier.

Our Place Wonder Oven Pro:
The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro is an oven-style air fryer with a larger capacity than any of the options listed here. It doesn't cook as evenly as the basket-style Ninja Foodi DZ550 and it takes a lot longer to produce results, but that's expected with this type of air fryer.

Ninja Foodi DZ201:
The Ninja Foodi DZ201 is a good alternative to the Ninja DZ401 if you don't need quite as much cooking capacity. It's an 8-quart model which shares most of the same features with other Ninja 'Foodi' models. It cooks just as fast as the DZ401 and a little more evenly.

Ninja DoubleStack SL201:
The Ninja DoubleStack is an 8-quart dual-basket air fryer with an unusual design. Its baskets are stacked instead of side by side, giving it a slimmer footprint. However, it doesn't perform as well as Ninja's other dual-basket air fryers, likely because of the fan's position at the back of the air fryer.
