The BELLA Pro Series 6-qt. digital air fryer is a simple, budget-friendly model. BELLA has a big lineup of air fryers, and like most other "Pro" fryers, it has all digital controls instead of dials. It's quite compact for a 6-qt fryer. However, it also has a smaller cooking surface area, so it won't fit as much food in a single layer as some 6-qt fryers. It has a simple design and a single fan speed. There are presets for different cooking methods like Bake and Broil, but unlike most air fryers, it doesn't have a dehydrate mode.

Our Verdict

7.5
Air Frying

The BELLA Pro Series 6-qt. digital air fryer is a good model. It's fast and makes good-quality fried food overall. However, it's not very versatile since it has only one fan speed and a narrow range of temperatures. Its settings work well for making crispy food like chicken wings, fries, and vegetables, but unlike many air fryers, you can't adjust its performance for baking, broiling, or dehydrating.

Pros
  • Cooks quickly.
  • Makes good-quality fried food.
Cons
  • Runs hot.
  • Doesn't maintain a very stable temperature.
7.4
Large Batch Cooking

The BELLA Pro Series 6-qt. digital air fryer is decent for large-batch cooking. Its 6-quart capacity is enough for about four people, but some 6-qt air fryers have a bigger cooking surface area, which allows you to spread more food out in a single layer, which is important for the crispiest fried food. It's not the most versatile since it only has one fan speed, but it still makes good-quality fried food.

Pros
  • Makes good-quality fried food.
  • 6-qt overall capacity.
Cons
  • Somewhat small cooking surface area.
  • Runs hot.
  • Doesn't maintain a very stable temperature.
7.5
Frying Performance

The BELLA Pro Series 6-qt. digital air fryer has good frying performance. It has a somewhat small cooking surface area for a 6-qt air fryer, and it doesn't maintain a stable temperature very well, which can make it difficult to follow recipes precisely or predict its performance. Some parts of your food can get overcooked while a good amount is still undercooked, but overall, it produces good-quality fried food quickly.

Pros
  • Cooks quickly.
  • Makes good-quality fried food.
Cons
  • Runs hot.
  • Doesn't maintain a very stable temperature.

7.3
Cooking Capacity

The BELLA Pro Series 6-qt. digital air fryer has a decent cooking capacity. Its 6-qt capacity is enough for about four people, but its basket has a smaller cooking surface area than some air fryers with the same overall capacity. This means you have less room to arrange your food in a single layer compared to some other 6-qt air fryers.

Pros
  • 6-qt overall capacity.
Cons
  • Somewhat small cooking surface area.

Size

The BELLA Pro Series 6-qt. digital air fryer is quite compact for its overall capacity, which is a plus if you need to serve around four people but don't have a lot of counter space.

    Popular Air Fryer Comparisons

The BELLA Pro Series 6-qt. digital air fryer is a simple model with enough capacity for about four people. It's not as versatile as some models like the Beautiful 6qt Digital air fryer and the COSORI TurboBlaze, notably because it has only one fan speed, and you can't use it as a dehydrator. It has a slightly worse performance, partly because it tends to overshoot the selected temperature, which can cause some of your food to get burnt before the rest is ready. It still produces good-quality fried food, and it's compact for a 6-qt air fryer.

If you're looking for a recommendation, check out our list of the best air fryers.

    MasterChef AF9003A

The BELLA 6qt Pro 90165 is a better air fryer than the MasterChef AF9003A, which is available on the Canadian market. The BELLA makes slightly better-quality fried food and cooks much faster than the MasterChef. It also has more automatic cooking programs, like 'Roast,' 'Broil,' and 'Reheat,' adding convenience. On the other hand, the MasterChef has a 'Dehydrating Fruit' option, allowing you to cook at lower temperatures. It also has more surface area in its basket despite having a smaller cooking capacity and overall size than the BELLA.

    Typhur Dome 2

The Typhur Dome 2 and BELLA 6qt Pro 90165 are both good air fryers, but they have different strengths, and you may prefer either depending on your priorities. The Typhur makes slightly better-quality fried food, likely due to the increased surface area in its basket and higher maximum power draw. It's more versatile as well, with a wider temperature range and variable fan speed. On the other hand, the BELLA preheats and cooks more quickly, takes up less counter space, and comes with a much smaller price tag.

Its 6-quart overall capacity is enough for about four people. However, it has a smaller surface area than many 6-qt air fryers, including the COSORI TurboBlaze and Instant Vortex Plus 140-3088-01. You have less room to arrange your food in a single layer, which is important for the best frying performance. If you prefer a wider basket with more room to spread food out, see the Typhur Dome 2.

It's not very versatile. It has a narrow temperature range and a single fan speed, so you have fewer options to adjust its performance for different recipes and cooking methods. The five presets have different default temperatures and temperature ranges. There's also a 'French Fries' mode, with a default temperature of 360 °F. Unlike most air fryers, it doesn't have a dehydrate mode, as it lacks a lower fan speed, and its minimum temperature is hotter than the ideal temperature for dehydrating.

    Temperature Variation at 400°F
    42 °F

It has decent temperature stability. It doesn't take very much time to recover after you add food. However, the temperature varies quite a bit during cooking, and it runs hot. Unlike most air fryers that switch on their heating elements when the temperature drops below the selected temperature, the BELLA heats up to about 440 when set to 400, with the element turning on before the temperature drops below 400. This likely explains why it tends to overcook more of your food than other models like the Beautiful 6qt Digital air fryer, and you may want to set it to a lower temperature to compensate.
