The Our Place Splendor Blender is a budget personal blender that makes single servings in a 750 mL jar, which you screw onto a blade mount and twist onto the motor base. It has just three buttons: a one-touch 45-second blend program, a pulse button, and a cancel button. It features a streamlined design with no speed dial, timer, or power switch. Like many other personal blenders, it can't hot blend and has only one speed setting.
Our Verdict
The Our Place Splendor Blender is an okay multi-purpose blender that does a couple of things very well and a few things poorly. It's great for making daily smoothies because it does an outstanding job of processing tricky ingredients like kale. It also crushes ice well, so it's a good choice for preparing iced drinks. It falls short when you ask for more: thicker blends like hummus or nut butters require disproportionate effort and constant intervention, and the results are still terrible. It also can't blend hot ingredients. Debris also gets stuck in the ridged jar and screw mount, which makes cleanup a bit annoying.
Blends fibrous ingredients smoothly.
Crushes ice into a snow-like texture.
Struggles to process thicker blends like nut butters or hummus.
Can’t blend hot ingredients.
Motor overheats after successive blending cycles.
The Our Place Splendor Blender is a great option for single-serve smoothies. The personal jar is the right size for one serving, makes smooth, consistent smoothies even with fibrous greens like kale, and crushes ice into a snow-like texture. Making smoothies can take a bit of effort, though: expect to stop once to scrape or shake the jar, and debris can catch in the ridged crevices, making cleanup a little annoying. For the best texture, run one full cycle, then do a short blend, since running two full cycles back-to-back can overheat the motor and leave your smoothie foamy.
Blends fibrous ingredients smoothly.
Crushes ice into a snow-like texture.
Jar is sized for a single serving.
Motor overheats after successive blending cycles.
Blending and cleanup are tedious for daily use.
The Our Place Splendor Blender is a decent choice for making multiple servings of smoothies, as long as you're only blending for one or two people. When you fill the jar to its max line, it makes outstanding smoothies with a smooth, consistent texture, even with fibrous greens like kale, and it crushes ice into snow-like pieces. The problem is that it has a very small jar, so you'll need to blend in several rounds to serve a larger group and let the motor rest between them. Our Place sells a larger 32 oz pitcher separately if you often make larger batches.
Blends fibrous ingredients smoothly.
Crushes ice into a snow-like texture.
Motor overheats after successive blending cycles.
Very small jar requires you to make several batches.
The Our Place Splendor Blender is okay for crushing ice, but the results are inconsistent, and the process is less than ideal. Some ice comes out with a snow-like texture, but each batch takes a lot of pulsing, and the ice starts to melt before you finish. As a result, some slushy ice gets packed under the blades, which can jam the blender. This blender's small jar also limits you to making very small batches.
Crushes ice into a snow-like texture.
Ice can get packed under the blades.
Motor overheats after successive blending cycles.
Very small jar only allows you to crush a few ice cubes at a time.
The Our Place Splendor Blender is a poor choice for making soup. It blends vegetables smoothly, but it doesn't support hot blending, and the jar is very small, so you can only make one bowl at a time. If soup is a priority, look for a blender made for hot blending with a larger jar. It also isn't the easiest blender to clean, because food residue can get stuck in the jar's ridges.
Blends fibrous ingredients smoothly.
Can’t blend hot ingredients.
Motor overheats after successive blending cycles.
Very small jar means you can only blend a single serving at a time.
The Our Place Splendor Blender isn't designed for professional use. It lacks the power to properly process large quantities of ingredients and a full-size jar for batch prepping. Running two full cycles back-to-back can overheat the blender, and the manual warns against it.

Popular Blender Comparisons
The Our Place Splendor Blender is a simple, budget personal blender that's ideal for single-serve smoothies and iced drinks. It blends fibrous ingredients smoothly and crushes ice well, but struggles with more demanding recipes. The jar is very small, so it's not suited to larger recipes. If you want to make nut butter or other thick recipes but want to use a personal-sized blender, choose the Ninja Foodi Power Nutri DUO or the Breville Boss To Go Sport. If you want the smoothest smoothies and bigger jars, choose the nutribullet Pro 900.
If you like the compact size but want top-notch performance, take a look at our list of the best personal blenders. For bigger jars and smoother smoothies, check out the best blenders for smoothies, or see the best blenders for crushing ice if you want to crush more than a few cubes at a time.
The Our Place Splendor and the Breville Boss To Go Sport are both personal blenders with a single speed setting, but the Breville is better built and more versatile. It has a sturdy metal base and transmission, blends smoothies with fibrous greens like kale slightly more smoothly, and makes smooth nut butter in about a minute. The Splendor takes more than 10 minutes of pulsing and scraping and comes out dry and grainy. Both crush ice into snow-like pieces and have small jars, so neither suits large batches. However, the Breville is very loud, and you have to twist the jar on and off to simulate a pulse, while the Splendor has a dedicated pulse button.
The Our Place Splendor and the nutribullet Pro 900 are both personal blenders, but they have different strengths. The nutribullet blends a silkier smoothie with fibrous greens like kale, makes smooth nut butter in about 3 minutes, and comes with 2 32-oz jars. The Splendor takes more than 10 minutes to make a dry, grainy nut butter and holds only 500 mL of liquid. However, the Splendor crushes ice into snow-like pieces, while the nutribullet can't crush ice without liquid in the jar. The Splendor also has a pulse button, while the nutribullet has no buttons at all, so you simply push the jar down to blend.
The Our Place Splendor and the Ninja Foodi Power Nutri DUO are both personal blenders, but the Ninja is a more versatile overall pick. It makes silkier smoothies, crushes ice with less effort, and includes two 24 oz jars, while the Splendor's single jar holds only 500 mL of liquid. The Ninja makes smooth nut butter in under two minutes, while the Splendor takes more than 10 minutes of pulsing and scraping and comes out dry and grainy. The Ninja is also easier to clean since debris gets stuck in the Splendor's ridged jar. The one upside of the Splendor is that it's quieter.
The Our Place Splendor and the Beast Mighty 850 Plus are both personal blenders with a single blending speed, but the Beast is sturdier and better for smoothies and nut butter. The Beast comes with three jars, plus drinking and straw lids, and it blends fibrous greens like kale a bit smoother with less effort. It also makes creamy nut butter, though it takes several cycles and a lot of scraping, whereas the Splendor takes more than 10 minutes and comes out dry and grainy. However, the Beast struggles to crush ice, and its motor starts to labor after a couple of batches, while the Splendor turns ice into snow-like pieces if you pulse it. The Splendor also has a dedicated pulse button, while you have to tap the Beast's single button for a quick pulse.

The Our Place Splendor Blender takes up very little counter space, but it's tall with the cup attached, so it may not fit under low cabinets. It's light enough that you can easily pick it up to store between uses.
The Our Place Splendor Blender has a decent build quality. Its thick plastic body feels sturdy, and a rubber ring around the base prevents it from sliding around on the counter. The jar and blade mount are also thick plastic, and a silicone ring seals the blade mount to the jar. The silicone-covered buttons click nicely and sit flush with the base, so you can easily wipe around them. Assembly is simple too.
That said, the power transmission is plastic, with a hard plastic coupling on the base and a rubbery plastic mount on the blade, which feels less robust than the rest of the body. The jar also has heavy ridges with plenty of crevices where food can get stuck. Our Place includes a one-year limited warranty in the US.
The Our Place Splendor Blender has a very small jar capacity, even compared to other personal blenders. The included jar holds 750 mL, but you can't fill it with more than 500 mL of liquid. That's enough for a single smoothie, but if you want to blend for two people, you'll need to work in multiple batches. Our Place sells a version of the blender that includes a 32 oz pitcher and a 450 mL jar.
The jar is made from BPA-free plastic. You can wash it in the dishwasher on the top rack.
The one-piece drinking lid screws onto the jar and is easy to grip, so it's simple to twist off.
This blender has a relatively short power cord, but it'll still be long enough to reach an outlet.

This blender does an excellent job of blending small batches of fibrous ingredients like kale. You get a smooth result with only tiny bits of greens visible, but it gets airy, and a few specks tend to catch in the crevices of the ridged jar. Plan on stopping once to scrape or shake the jar so everything blends well.
For the best results, run one full cycle and follow it with a shorter blend. Two back-to-back full cycles can overheat the motor and leave your smoothie extremely bubbly.
The Our Place Splendor Blender does an outstanding job of blending tricky fibrous ingredients like kale when you fill the jar to its max line. You get a consistent, smooth smoothie with only tiny bits of leafy greens visible. A full jar works better than a smaller batch, since the ingredients circulate through the blades and don't stick to the sides.
Blending longer doesn't break down those last bits of kale; it only whips in more air and leaves your smoothie foamy. Longer blending also risks overheating the motor, and the manual warns against running back-to-back cycles, so let it rest between batches.
This blender does an excellent job of crushing ice, leaving you with a snow-like texture and only a few small chunks remaining. Our Place recommends adding liquid, ideally about 25% of what you're blending, but it still works okay without any. Pulse in short intervals, since the one-touch cycle spins too fast to crush ice properly, and expect to pulse a lot. The small jar handles about four cubes at a time, so you can't crush much at once. Each batch takes a while, causing the ice to begin melting, and some of the snowy ice can pack together under the blades.
This blender is a poor choice for making nut butter. Its small blade keeps flinging the nuts into the corners of the jar, so you have to stop and shake or scrape it dozens of times. It takes more than 10 minutes of pulsing and shaking before the nuts warm up enough to release their oils and turn into a butter. You end up with mostly butter, but it's dry, grainy, and sticky, with a few whole nuts left over and oil that stays separate.
This blender is powerful but has a limited range of blade speeds, so it's not very versatile, since you can't use a low speed for chunky or delicate ingredients.
This blender has very simple controls with just three buttons. There's one blending program: a 45-second blend. A separate pulse button runs the blades as long as you hold it, and they spin faster the longer you hold it. A cancel button stops whatever is running. It has no speed presets or dial, so you can't choose a speed. The blender also lacks a power switch, so it stays on whenever it's plugged in.
This blender is relatively easy to clean. You can remove the silicone sealing ring around the blade mount, and cleaning under the blades is easy. That said, the blade shaft is harder to reach, and debris gets stuck in the ridges of the screw mount. The jar has two deep indents that trap debris in the bottom corners, which can be annoying to clean. The blades are sharp, so handle the blade assembly carefully when you wash it.
