The eufy Omni E28 is an upper mid-range robot vacuum and mop in eufy's 2025 E series lineup of multi-function cleaning devices. Its standout feature is a detachable spot cleaner that's built into the dock, which works like a compact upholstery cleaner for tackling spills and stains on furniture or carpets. It comes with an all-in-one dock that empties debris, refills water, and washes the mop. It uses a roller mop rather than spinning pads and navigates using a combination of cameras, LIDAR, and infrared sensors for obstacle detection.
Our Verdict
The eufy Omni E28 is an okay choice for multi-surface households, though it's best suited for homes with primarily hard floors. It's not ideal for homes with lots of rugs or carpeted space because it leaves behind a lot of debris and pet hair, and has difficulty moving across plush surfaces. Stain removal is lackluster because it doesn't linger over stained areas long enough, though the built-in deep cleaning tool can remove stains from fabric surfaces. It handles obstacles well on bare floors but frequently requires intervention on carpet. The dock handles most maintenance automatically, which reduces hands-on upkeep.
The dock handles most daily maintenance tasks automatically.
Effectively clears most debris on hard floors.
Leaves a significant amount of pet hair behind on carpets.
Struggles with fine particles that embed in carpet fibres.
Difficulty moving on high-pile carpet.
The eufy Omni E28 is inadequate for pet owners. It really struggles with pet hair on carpets, leaving large amounts behind after cleaning. It comes dangerously close to contacting pet waste, particularly on carpet, where its side brushes could potentially make contact. While the dock handles most maintenance tasks automatically, many components require regular cleaning and replacement, which can be labor-intensive when dealing with accumulated pet hair. On the positive side, it runs quietly enough that it won't startle anxious pets.
Quiet operation won't disturb nervous pets.
The dock handles most daily maintenance tasks automatically.
Leaves a significant amount of pet hair behind on carpets.
Many parts require frequent maintenance.
Comes dangerously close to contacting pet waste.
The eufy Omni E28 does a great job on hard floors. It effectively clears most everyday debris, making it well-suited for keeping your kitchen, bathroom, and other uncarpeted spaces clean. However, it doesn't fully clear dirt from tight spots along walls and in corners. It also occasionally scatters or drags small amounts of debris around while cleaning.
Effectively clears most debris on hard floors.
Picks up both fine particles and larger debris.
Doesn't fully clear corners and edges.
The eufy Omni E28 is inadequate for carpet cleaning. It leaves a significant amount of debris behind, struggling particularly with fine particles that get embedded into carpet fibers. On plush, high-pile carpets, it struggles to move across the surface, which further hampers its cleaning performance. Its edge and corner performance is weak, with significant debris remaining in those areas. If you have carpeted floors throughout your home, this vacuum won't be able to keep them clean.
Doesn't fully clear corners and edges.
Struggles with fine particles that embed in carpet fibres.
Difficulty moving on high-pile carpet.
The eufy Omni E28 is disappointing for pet hair pickup on carpets. If you have shedding pets and carpeted floors, this vacuum won't be able to keep your home clean. It leaves a lot of hair behind in the areas it cleans, so you'll likely need to manually vacuum to get the job done.
Leaves a significant amount of pet hair behind on carpets.
Doesn't fully clear corners and edges.
The eufy Omni E28 offers passable obstacle handling, but it struggles when navigating cluttered spaces. It performs much better on bare floors, where it avoids most obstacles without needing you to intervene. When it gets stuck, it usually frees itself without you needing to step in. However, its performance drops significantly on carpets, where it frequently needs intervention to avoid obstacles. While it avoids pet waste, it comes dangerously close to contacting it. It won't attempt to clean under low furniture, skips those areas entirely, and can end up pushing lightweight items around your home. Rug tassels get caught in its brush roller and require manual removal.
Avoids most obstacles effectively on bare floors.
Learns to navigate around mirrors and reflective surfaces.
Requires frequent intervention on carpeted floors.
Tangles on rug tassels and moves lightweight furniture.

Popular Robot Vacuum Comparisons
The eufy Omni E28 is an upper mid-range robot vacuum offering a unique 2-in-1 configuration. It comes with a detachable spot cleaner, offering a handheld option for upholstery and carpets. However, for anything you'd want a robot vacuum to take care of, there are much better options on the market.
If you're primarily concerned with keeping hard floors clean between manual vacuum sessions, the E28 handles everyday debris reasonably well but struggles with corners and edges. Competitors like the Roborock Saros 10R and MOVA P50 Pro Ultra clean these areas more thoroughly, meaning you can go longer without using a traditional vacuum. If either carpet cleaning or pet hair pickup is your priority, consider the Ecovacs DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI, which handles both with ease. The E28's obstacle handling is also a weak point, requiring much more attention than even mid-range models like the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra or the eufy E20, the brand's mid-range E-series offering. All in all, this robot vacuum's unique feature-set can't compensate for its lacklustre cleaning performance, and most people will be better served by other options.

The eufy Omni E28 and eufy S1 Pro are both vacuum and mop combos, both of which perform well on hard floors but poorly on carpets. The key difference is obstacle handling, where the S1 Pro significantly outperforms the E28, navigating around furniture with less intervention required. This makes it better suited for cluttered homes with lots of furniture. The E28's advantage is its detachable spot cleaner, which allows you to remove stains from carpets and upholstery.
The eufy Omni E28 and eufy X10 Pro Omni are both vacuum and mop combos with all-in-one docks, but the E28 outperforms the X10 Pro Omni in most areas. The E28 does a better job on hard floors and includes a detachable spot cleaner, giving you an extra tool for cleaning stains and upholstery. Both models struggle with carpet cleaning and pet hair pickup, performing poorly in these areas.
The eufy Omni E28 and MOVA P50 Pro Ultra are both vacuum and mop combos with comprehensive self-maintenance docks, but the P50 largely outperforms the E28. The performance gap is significant: the MOVA handles debris well on any surface, but the E28 can't keep carpets clean and leaves noticeable amounts behind even on hard floors. The MOVA also avoids obstacles more reliably, getting stuck less often around furniture and household clutter. One benefit of the E28 is its detachable spot cleaner for upholstery and stain removal, which gives you versatility beyond robot cleaning.
The eufy Omni E28 and Roborock Qrevo Curv are both vacuum and mop combos with all-in-one docks, but the Curv delivers stronger cleaning performance across the board. It picks up significantly more debris on both hard floors and carpets. It also handles pet hair better on carpeted surfaces, making it more effective if you have shedding pets. However, the E28 navigates obstacles more effectively, requiring less intervention when cleaning around furniture and household items. The E28's detachable spot cleaner gives you an additional cleaning tool that the Curv lacks, though this doesn't compensate for its weaker overall vacuuming performance.
Test Results
This robot vacuum's build quality is great. It's constructed primarily from hard plastic with a mix of glossy and matte finishes, though the glossy surfaces tend to show scratches and surface marks. Despite the plastic construction, it feels solid and well-built with no noticeable gaps, and it's heavier than similar-sized models. The dustbin, wheels, buttons, and bumper all feel sturdy.
The eufy E28 has high maintenance requirements. While most parts are straightforward to access and don't require tools, the sheer number of components needing regular attention is overwhelming. You have to maintain the dustbin, filters, mopping roller, brushrolls, side brushes, sensors, charging pads, swivel wheel, dirty water tanks, and cleaning tray.
The brushroll's self-cleaning feature handles most hair tangles, and the dustbin's hinged mesh filter extends the life of the paper filter. However, some design choices are unnecessarily complicated: the dustbag sits beneath the heavy deep cleaner module, making removal annoying, and the brushrolls require a finicky U-shaped motion to detach. The clean water tank has no realistic way to clean inside, which could cause long-term issues if you have hard water.
You can find out more about this robot vacuum's maintenance needs in the user manual.
The eufy E28 robot vacuum has very high recurring costs because you'll need to replace the following parts regularly:
- Dust bags (3-pack)
- Mopping roller
- Filter
- Side brushes (2 pairs)
- Brush guard and rollers
- Filter valve assembly
- Fabric cleaning solution (optional)
- Floor cleaning solution (optional)
There's an accessories package available that bundles together many of these parts and may be more economical than buying them individually.
The eufy E28's dirt compartment capacity is disappointingly small, requiring the robot vacuum to make frequent trips back to the dock to empty it.
The dock offers good self-maintenance capabilities. It automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin and washes and dries the mop pads. While the dustbag itself is rated for 3L, its shape and location within the dock limit realistic pickup to about half of the rated capacity. This means you'll need to replace the bag more frequently than the advertised capacity might suggest.

The eufy E28 has outstanding battery life, which varies depending on the suction settings: Quiet mode lasts the longest, and Max mode drains fastest. When the battery hits 10%, it returns to the dock and charges just enough to complete its current task before finishing the full charging cycle.
We encountered a minor issue where the charging indicator didn't always turn off when the robot vacuum finished charging, though it was resolved after we updated the firmware from 4.0.43 to 4.1.26. If you eventually need a replacement, eufy offers replacement batteries and provides installation instructions.
The eufy E28 has the quality-of-life features users have come to expect from premium robot vacuums. There are three suction levels: Quiet, Turbo (default), and Max. For pathing, you can select between Fast mode, which skips corners for quicker cleaning, or use the default Deep mode for more thorough coverage.
While the eufy E28 has two side brushes, only one is extendable.
The vacuum does a very good job picking up debris on hard floors. Using its default settings (Turbo suction and Deep Pathing), it effectively clears most debris. However, it doesn't completely clear corners and leaves some dirt behind, plus it occasionally scatters or drags debris around.
The eufy E28 performs poorly on high-pile carpet. Though its default settings are Turbo suction and Deep Pathing, it automatically switches to Max suction on carpets. Still, it can't pick up debris effectively. Fine particles are especially problematic; the vacuum leaves a substantial amount behind. Some debris gets embedded into the deep carpet fibers or dragged around rather than being collected. Edge and corner cleaning is particularly poor, with lots of debris remaining.
This robot vacuum offers disappointing debris pickup on low-pile carpet. As with high-pile carpets, it automatically switches to Max suction and uses Deep Pathing, but it still leaves debris behind and particularly struggles with finer particles. It drags and embeds some debris into the carpet fibers rather than picking it up, and shoots a small amount of debris around during cleaning. It also struggles with edges and corners, leaving debris along walls and in corners.
This robot vacuum offers disappointing pet hair pick-up. With its Deep Pathing and automatic Max suction settings, it leaves a significant amount of hair behind as it passes over. It also drags a small amount of hair around during cleaning.
Airflow is adequate, with both the eufy S1 Pro and eufy X10 Pro Omni offering better performance.
This robot vacuum is relatively quiet, even when using Turbo suction on bare floors and Carpet Boost on carpeted areas.
This robot vacuum's ability to adapt to household objects is hit or miss. It particularly struggles with low furniture and rugs, as it's too tall to fit under low coffee tables or media consoles, and tassels get caught in the brush roller, requiring you to remove them manually. It occasionally ventures under chairs and can get stuck, though it usually frees itself on its own. The robot vacuum also tends to push lightweight furniture around, requiring you to intervene.
This robot vacuum does a decent job of avoiding obstacles. It uses a combination of camera and infrared sensors for obstacle detection, LiDAR for navigation and mapping, and bump sensors for everything else. It performs much better on bare floors but struggles on carpet, requiring frequent intervention. While it successfully avoids pet waste, it comes very close to it.
This robot vacuum is too tall to navigate under low furniture.
This robot vacuum does a decent job with low thresholds, but can't clear high thresholds.
Like most robot vacuums, this model doesn't seal in or filter allergens and find particles.
This robot vacuum offers a disappointing performance when it comes to clearing debris from cracks. When using Turbo suction and Deep pathing, it dislodges debris well from tight gaps with its side brushes. Unfortunately, the short pathing pattern means it doesn't return to collect what it initially pushed out, so it leaves dirt behind.
This robot vacuum's roller mop has potential, but the Deep Pathing undermines its performance. The device doesn't linger over stained areas long enough to remove them, even when using the High water level setting.
However, the dock includes a separate fabric deep cleaner that performs well on stubborn stains. While we don't formally test this feature as part of our standard methodology, it's worth noting for those interested in the additional functionality. It requires some manual effort and multiple passes, but it removes stains from carpets and upholstery effectively without oversaturating surfaces. You can see the stain before and after cleaning.
This robot vacuum can't clean up liquid spills without risking damage to the device.
You'll need the app to access this robot vacuum's full range of functions, but you can operate it without the app using the physical buttons on both the robot and the dock. Learn more in the user manual.
The eufy Clean app is practical and intuitive, featuring typical premium robot vacuum mapping features. It also includes several specialized cleaning modes that set it apart. Smart Track Cleaning has the device follow you around so you can direct it to dirty areas, Dirt Inspection, which rechecks areas for leftover debris, and Dirty Spot Cleaning for intensive mopping on stains. Take a look at our video walkthrough to see the app in action.
