The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is the 2025 flagship robot vacuum/mop combo from MOVA, a Dreame sub-brand. This model builds on the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, with the most notable upgrades including an extendable side brush and a side mop for cleaning in corners and along baseboards. The vacuum pairs with a multi-function dock that handles most maintenance automatically; it empties the robot's dustbin, refills its water reservoir, and washes and dries the mop pads using hot water and hot air. For navigation, it combines LiDAR mapping with a 3D structured light sensor and an RGB camera to detect obstacles. Unlike the P10, this model includes the Tri-Cut brushroll as a standard feature, which uses rotating blades to cut through tangled hair.

Our Verdict

8.0
Multi-Surface Household

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is great for multi-surface households. If you have mostly hard floors, it picks up nearly all debris in a single pass, keeping your space consistently clean. On carpets, you'll get solid everyday cleaning, though you may notice some debris left behind in corners and along edges despite the robot's extendable side brush. If you have shedding pets, it handles pet hair well on carpets, though you'll need to occasionally clean the brushroll. However, obstacle handling is inconsistent with pet waste on carpet, so it's best to run the vacuum when you're at home to avoid any surprises. The mopping function helps maintain your hard floors between deep cleans, though it won't remove tough stains.

Pros
  • Outstanding performance on hard floors.

  • Multi-function dock takes care of many maintenance tasks.

  • Good pet hair pickup.

  • Navigates furniture well without getting stuck.

Cons
  • Inconsistent pet waste avoidance.

  • Needs occasional brushroll cleaning.

7.4
Pets

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is a decent choice for pet owners. It picks up pet hair well on carpets thanks to its Tri-Cut brushroll, which cuts hair as it rotates to reduce tangling (though you'll still need to clean the brushroll occasionally). The main limitation is obstacle avoidance around pet waste on carpet; the vacuum struggles to consistently identify and avoid it. If your pets ever have accidents, it's best to run the vacuum while you're home to avoid creating a mess.

Pros
  • Outstanding performance on hard floors.

  • Multi-function dock takes care of many maintenance tasks.

  • Good pet hair pickup.

Cons
  • Inconsistent pet waste avoidance.

  • Needs occasional brushroll cleaning.

9.0
Debris Pickup: Hard Floor

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra excels on hard floors, picking up nearly all debris in a single pass. It doesn't shoot or drag debris around, and it cleans corners and vertical edges thoroughly. If you have mostly hard floors, this vacuum keeps your space consistently clean with minimal effort.

Pros
  • Outstanding performance on hard floors.

  • Extendible side brush clears debris along corners and edges.

Cons
None
7.0
Debris Pickup: Carpet

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra delivers decent performance on carpets. On both low-pile and high-pile carpets, it picks up most everyday debris, though you'll notice some left behind after it passes. It also leaves behind dirt along edges and in corners. If your home is primarily carpeted, this vacuum handles day-to-day cleaning adequately. Just expect to supplement with manual vacuuming for truly thorough cleaning.

Pros
  • Does a good job with large and medium-sized debris.

Cons
  • Can't completely clear debris from corners and edges on carpets.

7.5
Debris Pickup: Pet Hair

If you have shedding pets, the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra handles pet hair well on carpets. The Tri-Cut brushroll agitates carpet fibers effectively to lift embedded hair, and the side brush continues rotating on the carpet to catch hair along edges. You'll see some pet hair left behind after it passes, along with trace amounts that get dragged around, but overall, it keeps your carpets relatively fur-free between manual cleanings. Just plan to check and clean the brushroll occasionally, as hair still wraps around it despite the cutting mechanism.

Pros
  • Brushroll lifts most hair from carpet.

  • Side brush effectively catches hair.

Cons
  • Needs occasional brushroll cleaning.

7.4
Obstacle Handling

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra offers decent obstacle handling. It navigates around most furniture effectively, cleaning underneath what it can fit under and moving around obstacles without getting stuck or knocking things over. However, obstacle avoidance is where it struggles. On hard floors, it generally avoids most obstacles reliably. On carpet, performance drops significantly. It often bumps into or drives straight over obstacles, particularly pet waste. This inconsistency is frustrating for a premium model.

Pros
  • Navigates furniture well without getting stuck.

Cons
  • Inconsistent pet waste avoidance.

    Popular Robot Vacuum Comparisons

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is MOVA's 2025 flagship robot vacuum and represents a step up from the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. The main upgrade over the P10 is the included Tri-Cut brushroll, which you'll need to purchase separately for the P10. This helps the P50 deliver substantially better pet hair pickup than both the P10 and the Dreame L40 Ultra. The P50 excels on hard floors, with performance comparable to flagship models like the Roborock Saros Z70 and the Roborock Saros 10R.

However, obstacle avoidance takes a surprising step backward compared to the P10, despite using the same sensors and advertising that the robot vacuum can recognize a wider range of objects. The P50 particularly struggles with pet waste on carpet, which is unfortunate for pet owners, given its solid pet hair pickup performance. If obstacle avoidance is your priority, the lower-end P10 Pro Ultra handles obstacles more reliably.

For more alternatives, check out recommendations for the best robot vacuums, the best robot vacuums for hardwood floors, and the best robot vacuums for carpet.

    MOVA P10 Pro Ultra

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra builds on the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra with improved cleaning performance when it comes to pet hair pickup and both hardwood floor and carpet pickup. Unfortunately, obstacle avoidance is worse than the lower-end P10, particularly when it comes to pet waste on carpet. Opt for the P50 for superior cleaning or the P10 if consistent obstacle avoidance is your top priority.

    Dreame L40 Ultra

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra share similar designs since MOVA is a Dreame sub-brand. Both feature similar self-maintenance docks with hot water mop washing and hot air drying. But despite the shared design DNA, the P50 outperforms the L40 Ultra when it comes to pet hair pickup and hard-floor performance. The L40’s main advantage is that it operates more quietly, but it’s not a significant enough difference to make it a better pick.

    Roborock Qrevo Curv

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra and the Roborock Qrevo Curv perform similarly on hard floors with excellent debris pickup. The P50 has the edge for pet owners with better pet hair pickup and stronger obstacle handling, making it the better value if you have shedding pets. However, the Qrevo Curv significantly outperforms the P50 at removing stains. If mopping tough messes is your priority, the Qrevo Curv might be worth it.

    Roborock Saros 10R

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra and Roborock Saros 10R both excel on hard floors, though the Saros 10R has a slight edge and handles stains better. However, the P50 significantly outperforms the Saros 10R when it comes to pet hair pickup and carpet cleaning. This makes it the clear choice for people with shedding pets who are looking to cut down on manual cleanings. The one issue is the P50's obstacle avoidance; it struggles to recognize pet waste on carpet, so you'll want to run it when you are home if your pet is prone to accidents.

    Vacuum & Mop Combo
    Yes

This robot vacuum has a solid construction with thick, high-quality plastic throughout. The Tri-Cut brushroll combines rubber, synthetic bristles, and metal cutting blades. Transparent material protects the sensors, and the buttons feature silicone coating. The finish is glossy on the top and sides but switches to matte for other surfaces. See the design with the mop pads removed. The dock features glossy plastic construction almost everywhere, including the mop cleaning tray. The top lid hinges also feel somewhat weak when opening. Overall, the design is extremely similar to the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra.

Additionally, multiple users have reported that the front caster wheel cracks during normal operation, causing the wheel to fail. Our unit hasn't experienced this issue, but it's worth noting.

    6.5
    User Maintenance

This robot vacuum requires a decent amount of ongoing maintenance, though the dock handles much of it automatically. The dock cleans and dries mop pads after each use, empties the dustbin, and even has a self-cleaning washboard function. You mainly need to refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water tank.

Most parts of the robot are relatively easy to access and clean. The Tri-Cut brushroll removes easily for cleaning. Though it's designed to cut hair as it rotates, hair still wraps around it, so you'll need to check it occasionally. The omnidirectional wheel and side brush both require a screwdriver to remove, but you won't need to clean them often since they rarely catch hair.

See the manual for more maintenance details.

    Performance
    9.0
    Hard Floor Pickup

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra does an outstanding job picking up debris on hard floors, substantially outperforming both the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra. Using Standard suction and pathing, it clears nearly everything in a single pass, including corners and edges.

Switching to Max+ suction for a second pass produces no meaningful improvement; Standard mode already captures almost everything. This performance matches flagship models like the Roborock Saros Z70 and the Roborock Saros 10R, making it one of the strongest performers on hard floors.

    7.0
    High-Pile Carpet Pickup

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra offers satisfactory performance on high-pile carpets using Standard suction and pathing with Carpet Boost, performing significantly better than the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. The side brush continues rotating on carpets, which helps improve debris pickup compared to the P10. Despite that, the side brush shoots or drags small amounts of debris around during cleaning, and it still doesn't effectively clean edges or corners. There's an Intensive carpet-cleaning mode available, but it produces very similar results.

    7.0
    Low-Pile Carpet Pickup

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra delivers decent performance on low-pile carpets using Standard suction and pathing settings with Carpet Boost, which is a notable improvement over the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. The key advantage is the side brush, which continues rotating on carpets. This helps dislodge larger particles that fall outside the main brushroll's range, which is something the P10 can't do. As with most robot vacuums, this model struggles with edges and corners.

    7.5
    Pet Hair Pickup

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra delivers impressive pet hair pickup when using Standard suction and pathing with Carpet Boost on, outperforming both the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra. The key difference is the Tri-Cut brush, which agitates carpet more effectively than the standard brushroll found in the P10. The robot vacuum also has a side brush that continues rotating on carpets, unlike the P10.

    7.7
    Airflow
    Maximum Head Airflow
    12.9 CFM (0.4 m³/min)

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra generates decent airflow, allowing it to lift heavy debris.

    8.1
    Noise
    Bare Floor
    58.4 dBA
    Low-Pile Carpet
    61.2 dBA

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is relatively quiet for a robot vacuum when using the Standard suction setting on bare floors and the Standard suction with Carpet Boost on carpets. However, it's louder than both the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra.

    8.0
    Household Adaptability

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra does a great job adapting to its surroundings. It navigates around objects with thin, long bases (like chairs and coat racks) fairly easily. Carpets and rugs aren't an issue either. Although this model is too tall to fit underneath low tables, it doesn't get stuck trying.

    Always Avoided Pet Waste
    No

This robot vacuum has decent obstacle avoidance, but it's surprisingly worse than the less premium MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. It uses a dorsal 360° LiDAR for mapping and navigation, an RGB camera for near-obstacle detection, a 3D structured light sensor for additional detection, using infrared proximity sensors, and a bump sensor for everything else.

The main issue is identifying obstacles on carpets. It particularly struggles with pet waste, often bumping into it or requiring intervention. On hard floors, the performance improves significantly, though pet waste remains the one obstacle it fails to recognize reliably. It sometimes avoids pet waste on carpet successfully (but comes dangerously close), while other times it drives straight into it. For a premium model, this is a letdown, especially when the mid-range P10 handles the same obstacles much more consistently.

Note: The RGB camera can capture and store images. You'll need to accept a privacy policy to view or save these images to your device. According to MOVAhome's privacy policy, the robot vacuum processes images onboard only and doesn't upload them to the cloud. Still, when using the real-time camera feature, it's best to avoid exposing the camera to personal information or private data.

    5.0
    Height Clearance
    Lowest Height Cleared
    10.5 cm (4.1'')

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra can't clean efficiently under low furniture because of its protruding LiDAR sensor.

    7.0
    Threshold Clearance
    Max Threshold Height
    1.9 cm (0.7")

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra is decent at clearing thresholds, but underperforms compared to the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra.

    Air Quality
    Anti-Allergy Filter (HEPA)
    No

Like the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, the P50 offers terrible fine particle filtration. Debris escapes through the exhaust port instead of staying trapped in the filter, spreading particles back into your home. This could be an issue if you have pets or allergies.

    4.0
    Cracks
    Wood Cracks Post Test

Like most robot vacuums, this one does a poor job cleaning debris from cracks, even when you switch from Standard to Max+ suction mode. If you have older flooring with gaps and cracks, you'll need to manually clean those areas.

    6.5
    Stains
    Stain Pickup Post Test

This robot vacuum does a decent job of removing stains with the water flow set to maximum (32), Deep Pathing mode enabled, and detergent in the water tank. Plain water delivers nearly the same results, but detergent leaves the mop pads smelling better afterwards. The dock cleans the mop pads fairly well after each cleaning session with or without detergent.
