The Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster with Touch-Activated Display is a four-slot toaster from actress Drew Barrymore's kitchenware company, Beautiful by Drew.' This higher-end toaster has a modern look, with a steel body and a touch-sensitive interface. It features a small handful of presets intended for toasting bagels, frozen bread, and denser gluten-free items. Its slots are deep enough to accommodate a wide variety of bread types and raise bread high enough to easily grab shorter slices without burning yourself. As with all Beautiful products, you can buy this toaster only at Walmart.
Our Verdict
The Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster delivers very good performance for day-to-day use. With two sets of wide slots, it offers plenty of capacity for thick slices of Texas toast and chunky bagels. It toasts evenly, so baked goods wind up uniformly browned on both sides. Toasting doesn't take long either, so food doesn't dry out before popping back up. It has plenty of features, too. There are buttons for frozen and gluten-free foods, along with a bagel mode that toasts on just one side and cycle countdown indicators that show approximately when your toast will be ready. Unfortunately, it leaves a ton of crumbs behind after toasting, so you'll have to sweep them up every time you toast.

The Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster provides excellent performance for toast. It toasts quickly and evenly, without drying out your bread, so each slice comes out uniformly browned on both sides and soft in the middle.

The Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster is a fantastic option for bagels. It toasts quickly and evenly, without leaving your bagel too dry. You can also use its 'Bagel' button to toast a bagel on just one side, browning the inside, but leaving the outside soft.

The Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster is bad at managing crumbs. It has two small crumb trays, but many crumbs and seeds fall past them onto your counter. You have to clean your counters after every use of your toaster to keep them tidy.
You have to clean the counters after every use.
The Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster is a fairly large model, which is to be expected given its capacity. It has a large countertop footprint, and while it fits in a kitchen cupboard, it can be a tight squeeze.
Bulky design.

Popular Toaster Comparisons
The Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster with Touch-Activated Display is a budget-friendly 4-slot toaster. It offers very good performance for everyday use, rivaling some much more expensive options, like the Breville Die-Cast 4-Slice Smart Toaster. It leaves toast consistently browned on both sides and fluffy in the middle. While it lacks a couple of the Breville toaster's extra features, like a progress indicator, it offers more extras than most budget models. For example, while the Black+Decker 4-Slice TR4900SSD only has buttons that add extra time for bagels and frozen foods, the Beautiful includes an option for gluten-free bread, cycle countdown indicators, and one-sided toasting. The biggest downside of this model is that it leaves crumbs on your counter. So unlike the Dualit Design Series 4 Slice, which traps most crumbs, you have to clean up after the Beautiful every time you make a couple of slices of toast or a bagel. That said, if you don't mind the mess, this toaster offers high-end performance at a budget-friendly price. It also comes in a range of colors to match your kitchen decor, which is rare for a toaster.

The Dash Clear View Long Slot and the Beautiful 4-Slice Toaster with Touch-Activated Display both deliver impressive toasting performance, but while the Beautiful comes out ahead overall, you may prefer one over the other depending on which design suits you best. Choose the Dash if you prefer longer slices of homemade or bakery bread, since its single long slot can accommodate a wider variety of baked goods. It's also a good choice if you want a toaster with more personality, thanks to its unique viewing window. Go for the Beautiful, on the other hand, if you need more capacity. It may not fit longer slices, but it has two sets of slots that operate independently, helpful for busy mornings when two people want to toast at once. It also includes a gluten-free bread button, an uncommon addition.
Test Results
This toaster features seven distinct shade settings, but unlike many other alternatives, you can't select any half-increments between them, giving you a bit less control over how toasted you want your bread to be. It does feature a few presets for different kinds of items. There's a 'Bagel' setting that turns down the elements on one side to avoid burning the bottom of your bagel, and the 'Frozen' setting is meant to thaw frozen items like waffles before toasting. Unusually, there's also a 'Gluten Free' setting that adds roughly 10 seconds to the default presets to better brown denser gluten-free bread.
