The Samsung Jet 70 is a cordless stick/handheld vacuum. It sits in the middle of Samsung's broad range of Jet stick vacuums, above the entry-level Samsung Jet 60, which uses the same 150W motor but comes with a cheaper Jet Fit floorhead. However, it's positioned below the pricier Samsung Jet 75, Samsung Jet 90 Complete, and Samsung Bespoke Jet models, which use more powerful motors and can be bundled with a wider variety of accessories, including a second battery pack. It features a five-stage filtration system, which is handy if you're sensitive to fine allergens. It has a lightweight construction that makes it a little easier to maneuver than most other cordless stick vacuums.

Our Verdict

8.1 Bare Floor

The Samsung Jet 70 is great for bare floors. It does a fantastic job of dealing with pet hair as well as small and large debris on this surface type. It's also quite effective when it comes to dealing with debris in cracks and crevices. Its lightweight construction and pivoting floorhead make it easy to maneuver, and it can be easily reconfigured into a handheld vacuum for spot-cleaning small areas. Unfortunately, its battery life isn't quite as long as that of some other alternatives.

Pros
  • Superb performance on bare floors.
  • Easy to maintain.
  • Low recurring costs.
  • Compatible with a dedicated mopping attachment.
Cons
  • Terrible stain-cleaning performance with default floorhead.
8.1 Low-Pile Carpet

The Samsung Jet 70 is a great choice for low-pile carpet. It does a fantastic job dealing with pet hair on this surface type and is amazingly effective when clearing away fine and large debris on low-pile carpets. It's also fairly easy to maintain and incurs low recurring costs. The pivoting floorhead and lightweight plastic construction make it easy to maneuver, and it isn't especially noisy either. However, its floorhead can sometimes get caught on rug tassels.

Pros
  • Easy to maintain.
  • Low recurring costs.
  • Excellent performance on low-pile carpet.
Cons
  • Very short battery life in 'MAX' mode.
  • Can get stuck on rug tassels and shag-pile rugs.
8.5 High-Pile Carpet

The Samsung Jet 70 is an excellent option for vacuuming high-pile carpet. It delivers exceptional overall performance on this surface type, easily sucking up pet hair as well as fine and large debris with no significant loss in suction performance as its dustbin fills up. It's also easy to maintain, fairly compact, and quite maneuverable thanks to its lightweight plastic construction, though since you can't adjust its brushroll height, it's prone to get stuck on rug tassels. Its battery life is also shorter than some other alternatives, especially when used in its most powerful suction mode.

Pros
  • Fantastic performance on high-pile carpet.
  • Easy to maintain.
  • Low recurring costs.
Cons
  • Very short battery life in 'MAX' mode.
  • Can get stuck on rug tassels and shag-pile rugs.
7.8 Pets

The Samsung Jet 70 is a good choice for dealing with pet hair. It easily clears away pet hair on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. It does a decent job dealing with pet hair on upholstered furniture with its miniature turbo brush, though it's recommended that you use its combination tool for this use case instead. The vacuum also features a five-stage filtration system to capture fine particles, which is great if you suffer from allergies. However, this vacuum does a terrible job of dealing with stains, like mud or dirt tracked into your home, when used with its primary floorhead. Thankfully, you can buy a specialized mopping floorhead from the manufacturer.

Pros
  • Exceptional pet hair cleaning performance on floors.
  • Easy to maintain.
  • Lightweight construction.
  • Compatible with a dedicated mopping attachment.
  • 5-stage filtration system.
Cons
  • Terrible stain-cleaning performance with default floorhead.
  • Can't be used to suck up liquid spills.
  • Unwieldy turbo brush attachment.
8.9 Stairs

The Samsung Jet 70 is excellent for vacuuming stairs. Its lightweight construction makes it easy to carry up and down flights of stairs, and since it's cordless, you don't need to worry about tripping over a power cord. You can also easily reconfigure it as a compact handheld vacuum for dealing with debris in hard-to-reach areas. Performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet is excellent.

Pros
  • Superb performance on bare floors.
  • Fantastic performance on high-pile carpet.
Cons
  • Unwieldy turbo brush attachment.
8.4 Cars

The Samsung Jet 70 is great for vacuuming the inside of your car. You can easily reconfigure it into a handheld vacuum for dealing with debris in hard-to-reach areas and comes with a couple of attachments, including a crevice tool with a flexible extension for reaching into tight cracks and crevices as well as a combination soft-bristle brush/upholstery tool. It also comes with a miniature turbo brush for cleaning seats and floormats, though its loose attachment hinge makes it a little unwieldy.

Pros
  • Lightweight construction.
  • Excellent performance on low-pile carpet.
Cons
  • Unwieldy turbo brush attachment.
5.9 Workshop

The Samsung Jet 70 isn't what it's designed for for workshop cleaning. It does an excellent job dealing with debris on bare floors and low-pile carpet and is decently effective when clearing away debris stuck in cracks and crevices. It's also lightweight and easy to maneuver. For an additional price, you can purchase a specialized mopping attachment for dealing with stains and small spills, but it's important to note that you can't use this vacuum to suck up liquids.

Pros
  • Compatible with a dedicated mopping attachment.
Cons
  • Terrible stain-cleaning performance with default floorhead.
  • Can't be used to suck up liquid spills.
  • 8.1 Bare Floor
  • 8.1 Low-Pile Carpet
  • 8.5 High-Pile Carpet
  • 7.8 Pets

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Samsung Jet 70 is available in three variants, though differ only in terms of included attachments. We tested the Jet 70 Pet variant, and you can see the label for our test unit here.

Model Name Tools Included Available Colors Notes
Jet 70 Pet  Turbo action brush head, Motorized miniature turbo brush pet tool, Crevice tool, Combination tool White/Mint, White/Violet  Can be bundled with Samsung's Cleaning  Station
Jet 70 Turbo  Turbo action brush head, Crevice tool, Combination tool  White/Mint, White/Violet
Jet 70 Complete   Turbo action brush head, Soft Brush Head Motorized miniature turbo brush pet tool, Crevice tool, Combination  tool  Silver

You can also purchase this vacuum with the 'Samsung Cleaning Station' add-on, which works similarly to a self-emptying dustbin for robot vacuums. You can take off the vacuum's dustbin and place it on top of the cleaning station to empty it without creating a large plume of dust and debris.

Let us know in the discussions if you come across another variant of this vacuum.

Compared To Other Vacuums

The Samsung Jet 70 is a highly versatile cordless stick vacuum. Compared to the more expensive Samsung Jet 90 Complete, it offers similarly strong overall performance despite its smaller 150W motor. However, it lacks the Jet 90's soft brushroll, telescopic wand, and charging cradle in its rack station for a second battery. Still, it outperforms similarly-priced vacuums from other manufacturers, like the Roborock H7 or Dyson V8, on most surfaces, especially high-pile carpet.

If you're looking for alternatives, take a look at our list of recommendations of the best cordless stick vacuums, the best vacuums for tile floors, and the best vacuums for high-pile carpet.

Dyson V15 Detect

The Dyson V15 Detect is a better fit for most uses than the Samsung Jet 70, though both vacuums perform quite similarly overall. The Dyson features a telescopic wand that allows you to adjust the vacuum height to your liking, comes with a secondary soft-roller floorhead that yields superior bare floor and crevice-cleaning performance, and has a considerably longer battery life. Unlike the Samsung vacuum, it also features a built-in particle sensor and can automatically adjust its suction power depending on the surface that it's on. However, the Samsung is lighter, quieter, easier to maneuver, and delivers better performance on high-pile carpet. It's also compatible with a specialized mopping floorhead for dealing with stains on hard floors, but this needs to be purchased separately.

Dyson V8

The Samsung Jet 70 is a little bit better than the Dyson V8. The Samsung has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, has a larger dustbin, makes less noise, and performs noticeably better on high-pile carpet. It also charges considerably faster than the Dyson while offering similar overall battery life. Meanwhile, the Dyson weighs less and feels lighter in your hand, comes with a handy 180-degree pivot extender, and does a better job of dealing with pet hair on upholstered furniture.

Samsung Jet 90 Complete

The Samsung Jet 70 delivers similar overall performance to the pricier Samsung Jet 90 Complete. The Jet 70 has fewer parts needing regular cleaning, weighs a little bit less, is a little quieter, charges faster, and, despite its less powerful 150W motor, is more effective on low and high-pile carpet. However, the Jet 90 comes with a rack station that has an additional battery charging slot, has a telescopic wand, and has longer battery life. Its more powerful 200W motor, combined with its included soft-roller floorhead, makes it a better option for clearing debris in cracks and crevices.

Samsung Jet 60

The Samsung Jet 70 and Samsung Jet 60 are very similarly-designed vacuums that differ in very minor ways. The pricier Jet 70 is ultimately the better option for most users thanks to its more effective Turbo Action Brushroll, which yields superior performance on most surface types. Unlike the Jet 60, it's fully compatible with Samsung's Sweeping Brush Floorhead, which is meant for stains on bare floors. The Jet 70 also features a small display that allows you to monitor the vacuum's current power mode and shows any vacuum status warnings, like a jammed brushroll or blockage.

Dyson Cyclone V10

The Dyson Cyclone V10 and Samsung Jet 70 each have advantages, meaning one might suit you better than the other, depending on your needs. The Dyson has a longer battery life, comes with a wider array of tools and attachments, is slightly more effective in clearing away debris in cracks and crevices, and has a less unwieldy miniature turbo brush attachment. However, the Samsung charges faster, has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, feels lighter in your hand, and performs better on high-pile carpet.

Tineco PURE ONE S11

The Samsung Jet 70 is better than the Tineco PURE ONE S11. The Samsung has fewer parts that need cleaning, takes little over half the time to recharge while lasting about as long on a single charge, and delivers superior performance on carpeted floors. While it doesn't come bundled with as many attachments as the Tineco, it is fully compatible with a dedicated mopping floorhead that's impressively effective in dealing with stains. Meanwhile, the Tineco has a dirt sensor that allows it to automatically increase its suction power in the presence of high concentrations of debris. It's also a little bit lighter.

Dyson V11

The Samsung Jet 70 is better than the Dyson V11. The Samsung is notably lighter, charges much faster, makes a little less noise, and delivers better performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpets. However, the Dyson has a surface detection system that allows it to automatically increase its suction power depending on the floor type that you're on. It also has a longer battery life and is more effective in dealing with pet hair on upholstered furniture.

Samsung Bespoke Jet

The Samsung Jet 70 is definitely worth a look if you're looking for a far more affordable alternative to the Samsung Bespoke Jet. The Jet 70 takes up less room, has a much less cumbersome floorhead, weighs a little less, and delivers similarly strong performance on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet, despite the fact that it uses a less powerful motor and a more basic floorhead. It can also be purchased with a cleaning station accessory as part of a bundle, though this does raise its price by a significant degree. However, the Bespoke Jet comes with two batteries, giving it a much longer runtime, and has a telescopic wand that allows you to adjust its height to your preference.

LG CordZero A9 [A916, A916BM]

The Samsung Jet 70 is a little better than the LG CordZero A9. The Samsung has a bigger dirt compartment and offers stronger overall suction performance, resulting in superior debris pickup on carpeted floors. Conversely, the LG has a longer battery life on a single battery.

Dyson V12 Detect Slim

The Samsung Jet 70 and Dyson V12 Detect Slim each have advantages, meaning one might suit you better than the other, depending on your needs. The Dyson vacuum's automatic power adjustment capability allows it to change its suction power on carpeted surfaces or whenever it detects an area with a high concentration of debris. It also weighs a little less and has a longer battery life. The Samsung has a bigger dirt compartment, makes less noise, and delivers better performance on carpeted floors.

Dyson V7

The Samsung Jet 70 is better than the Dyson V7. The Samsung has fewer maintenance requirements, features a larger dustbin, lasts longer on a single charge, charges faster, exerts a stronger suction force at its floorhead, and does a better job of clearing away debris on bare floors and high-pile carpets, not to mention cracks and crevices. It's also quieter and more effective in dealing with pet hair. However, the Dyson is a little more portable, and you might find it easier to clear away pet hair on furniture than the Samsung.

Shark WANDVAC System [WS620, WS632, WS642]

The Samsung Jet 70 is more versatile than the Shark WANDVAC System. The Samsung has a significantly larger dirt compartment, a longer maximum battery life, makes less noise, and performs better across all surface types. It also has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, takes up less room when stored, and comes with a miniature turbo brush attachment, not to mention a five-stage filtration system that includes a HEPA filter. However, the Shark's handheld configuration is noticeably lighter.

Stick/Handheld

The Samsung Jet 70 is fairly well-built. It's mostly made of plastic, though it does have a lightweight metal wand with a matte finish. It looks and feels fairly premium, with a slightly sturdier build quality than many other alternatives. That said, it's worth noting that the glossy control buttons on its handle can scratch easily.

Assembling the vacuum is easy and intuitive. The charging station is easy to put together, but you may need to look at the instructions.

User Maintenance

The Samsung Jet 70 is pretty easy to maintain. Fewer parts need regular cleaning compared to the similarly-designed Samsung Jet 90 Complete.

  • Dirt compartment: You can remove the dustbin by pushing the release button near its top edge. After removing the micro filter and cyclone filter assembly, you can then empty the dustbin over a garbage can, though be aware that this can spread a cloud of dust. You can also wash it with water when needed.
  • Cyclone: Twist the cyclone filter counter-clockwise against the dustbin to separate the two. When necessary, you can use the included cleaning tool to clear away any stuck-on debris. It can also be washed with water whenever you notice a significant buildup of debris
  • Micro filter: The micro filter is located above the cyclone filter and can be pulled free by its grab handle. You should clear away any stuck-on dirt regularly and wash it with water once a month.
  • HEPA filter: Twist to unlock and remove it from the main body of the vacuum, where it sits above the dirt compartment. You can remove any dust and debris from this filter as needed. You shouldn't wash it with water.
  • Turbo action brush head: Push the button on top of the head to unlock, then slide it out. The brushroll tends to collect pet hair pretty easily, so you'll need to clean it pretty frequently if you have heavily-shedding pets. Thankfully, it's very easy to cut away any tangled hair with a pair of scissors after removing the brushroll from the floorhead.
  • Motorized brush tool: Use the crevice tool to clean this part.

Any part that you wash with water should be allowed to dry thoroughly, out of direct sunlight, before being put back in the vacuum. There's an LED light on the handle to indicate when there's a clog, brushroll obstruction, missing filter, or when the vacuum isn't assembled properly.

However, it can drain its battery in a little over five minutes when using it in its most powerful 'MAX' mode with its floorhead attached, which is shorter than many other cordless vacuums, like the Dyson V8, when used in their most powerful suction mode. You need to work quickly when vacuuming stubborn messes or surfaces like high-pile carpeting. A trio of LED lights give you a good indicator of the remaining battery life.

Despite using a less powerful 150W motor than the Samsung Jet 90 Complete, which uses a 200W motor, it offers similarly impressive suction performance when using its Turbo Action Floorhead, which, despite outside similarities, helps generate higher suction force results. This vacuum was also tested in its 'MAX' suction mode with the Jet 90's two floorheads and wand, and you can see the results of said retests below:

  • Samsung Jet 70 Vacuum + Jet 90 wand and Soft Brush floorhead 6.95 inHâ‚‚O (1.73 kPa)

The Samsung Jet 70 is very quiet. While it's still likely to mask the sound of nearby conversation when it's running in its default 'MID' power mode, it won't be especially disruptive for people in other rooms. That said, it's much louder when running in its 'MAX' mode, so it's better to use the vacuum in this setting sparingly if you don't want to annoy people nearby.

7.5
Performance
Maneuverability

The Samsung Jet 70 is quite maneuverable. Its lightweight construction and pivoting floorhead make it easy to maneuver around obstacles. The absence of a suction trigger that you need to hold onto also reduces the amount of fatigue you feel while using the vacuum for extended periods. It's also easy to swap out any attachments for cleaning on top of furniture. Unfortunately, its floorhead is prone to get stuck on shag-pile rugs and carpeting. You'll also need to crouch pretty deeply to clean under tables and chairs. Since it doesn't have a telescopic wand, it might be a little tricky to find an ergonomic height that works for you.

7.0
Performance
Pet Hair Furniture Performance
Sofa Pickup Post Test

The Samsung Jet 70 does a decent job dealing with pet hair on furniture. Generally speaking, turbo brush tools are the best choice for cleaning pet hair on upholstered surfaces. In the case of this vacuum, its loose attachment hinge and inability to collect really fine hair make it hard to use while holding the vacuum in one hand. You can see how this tool performed on the test couch here, and the results of said performance test here.

While the combination tool is highly effective when dealing with pet hair on furniture, its narrow suction inlet makes it impractical for cleaning large areas, and you'll need to pull away any pet hair that gets stuck in the soft-bristle brush pretty often. It's recommended that you use the combination tool in conjunction with the turbo brush for optimal pet hair-cleaning performance on upholstered furniture.

Wood Cracks Post Test

The Samsung Jet 70 does a decent job clearing away debris in cracks and crevices. Its 'Turbo Action Brush' floorhead generates a pretty tight seal against the contact surface, allowing it to clear away debris in shallow cracks and crevices. Unlike the Samsung Jet 90 Complete, it doesn't come with a fluffy brushroll, which is more effective for collecting debris in shallow cracks and crevices. Still, if you want to deal with debris in deeper cracks and crevices, the vacuum's dedicated crevice tool is the way to go.

Stain Pickup Post Test

Note: Since the 'Spinning Sweeper' attachment isn't available as part of a bundle with the Samsung Jet 70 and needs to be purchased separately, the vacuum's score for this section remains based on its stain-clearing performance with the standard floorhead.

The Samsung Jet 70 does a terrible job dealing with stains when used with its Turbo Action Brush floorhead. However, this vacuum is also compatible with the separately purchased 'Spinning Sweeper' floorhead, which uses rotating mop pads to clear away dried-on dirt and debris. You can see a video of the vacuum clearing away stains with the 'Spinning Sweeper' attachment with disposable wet pads here, and a picture of the contact surface after being cleaned here. The disposable wet pads are quite effective in dealing with stains, though they do tend to get quite dirty while in use, as seen here, so you might have to go through quite a few to deal with bigger messes.

Water Pickup Post Test

Note: Since the 'Spinning Sweeper' attachment isn't available as part of a bundle with the Samsung Jet 70 and needs to be purchased separately, the vacuum's score for this section remains based on its water-clearing performance with the standard floorhead.

This vacuum isn't rated to suck up water. However, it is compatible with the 'Spinning Sweeper' floorhead, which uses rotating mop pads to clear away water when used with dry microfiber mopping pads. You can see a video of the vacuum clearing away water with the 'Spinning Sweeper' attachment with dry microfiber pads here, and a picture of the contact surface after being cleaned here. The dry microfiber cloths are effective in picking up small spills, but more than half a cup of liquid will likely saturate the pads and prevent them from absorbing any more liquid.
