The Typhur Sync Air Fryer is an impressive option. It provides great frying quality, so most of your food comes out crispy and well-cooked, while a very small portion comes out mushy or overcooked. It's very versatile, with a wide range of temperature and fan speed settings, plus preset cooking modes that let you roast, reheat, dehydrate, bake, as well as air fry. Plus, it comes with a wireless temperature probe and a companion app that adds several preset food modes. You don't have to wait long for results either, as it preheats and cooks very quickly.

Large Batch Cooking

The Typhur Sync Air Fryer is a great choice for large-batch cooking. It has 8.9 quarts of capacity, which is enough to cook for about six people at a time. There's plenty of surface area in its basket, making it easy to arrange items in a single layer for crispier results. It makes great-quality air-fried food, so when you make a batch of food, the majority comes out well-cooked and golden brown, while just a small portion winds up over- or undercooked. It's a very versatile option, too. This air fryer offers a wide range of temperature and fan speed settings, though the maximum fan speed is a bit slow. Cooking doesn't take long either, so you can make multiple batches without waiting long for results.

Pros
  • Makes great-quality fried food.

  • Preheats and cooks quickly.

  • Large 8.9-quart capacity is enough to serve six people.

  • Large basket surface area makes it easy to spread food out.

  • Excellent versatility.

It cooks quickly, too, so crispy meals, sides, and snacks are ready fast.

Pros
  • Makes great-quality fried food.

  • Preheats and cooks quickly.

  • Large basket surface area makes it easy to spread food out.

    Popular Air Fryer Comparisons

The Typhur Sync Air Fryer is an 8.9-quart model that comes with a wireless temperature probe and a companion app. It provides slightly better frying quality than the Typhur Dome 2, with most of each batch coming out crispy and well-cooked. While the Dome 2 preheats slowly and cooks decently fast, the Sync Air Fryer preheats quickly and delivers impressive cooking speed, making it a better choice if quick, crispy snacks are your priority. The Dreo ChefMaker is a smaller option that also comes with a temperature probe. It preheats and cooks a bit faster than the Typhur, but it cooks less evenly and provides less versatility. If you're looking for a dual-basket option with a temperature probe, you might be interested in the Ninja Foodi DZ550. Like the Typhur, it makes great-quality fried food, but it cooks even faster and provides even more versatility.

If you're wondering what we recommend, check out our picks for the best air fryers, the best air fryers for French fries, and the best large-capacity air fryers.

    Ninja Foodi DZ550

    Track

The Typhur Sync Air Fryer and the Ninja Foodi DZ550 are both impressive air fryers that come with temperature probes for cooking cuts of meat and other foods to a specific temperature. However, the Ninja is a better choice, unless you prefer a single-basket air fryer or you don't have enough counter space to accommodate its larger size. These air fryers offer nearly identical frying quality, but the Ninja preheats and cooks faster. It also offers a little more versatility, and it maintains a more stable cooking temperature, making it easier to follow recipes accurately. Plus, its dual-basket design adds convenience, since you can cook two different recipes at once.

    Ninja Foodi DZ071

    Track

The Typhur Sync Air Fryer and the Ninja Foodi DZ071 are both impressive options, and you may prefer either depending on your priorities. The Typhur makes slightly better-quality fried food, so a little more of each batch comes out crispy and golden brown. It also comes with a wireless temperature probe for tracking the doneness of meats and other foods, and it offers more cooking capacity, thanks to its taller basket, which can accommodate items like a whole chicken. The Ninja, on the other hand, has a bit more surface area in its basket, making it easier to arrange food in a single layer for better results. Its basket is also dividable, so you can cook separate recipes on each side, or remove the divider to cook one large batch. The Ninja is also more versatile, and it maintains a more stable temperature throughout cooking.

    Dreo ChefMaker

    Track

The Typhur Sync Air Fryer and the Dreo ChefMaker are both higher-end models that feature a temperature probe and companion app, but the Typhur is a better choice for most people. While the Dreo makes good-quality fried food, the Typhur makes great-quality fried food, leaving a little more of each batch crispy and golden brown. It's also significantly more versatile, thanks to its wider range of fan speeds that let you proof dough, bake, or dehydrate. It also provides more cooking capacity, without taking up much more counter space. The Dreo, on the other hand, preheats and cooks a little faster, and it maintains a more stable temperature throughout the process.

    Typhur Dome 2

    Track

The Typhur Sync Air Fryer and the Typhur Dome 2 both offer good performance, but the Sync Air Fryer is a better option unless you want the ability to make a 12" pizza in your air fryer. The Sync Air Fryer doesn't have quite as much surface area in its basket, so most full-sized pizzas won't fit, but it still has plenty of space to spread food out, and its taller basket gives it a larger overall capacity. It makes slightly better-quality fried food, and it cooks faster. The Sync Air Fryer also offers more versatility, thanks to its faster maximum fan speed, though it's still slower than many other high-performing models.

This air fryer has 8.9 quarts of capacity, which is enough to cook for about six people. It has plenty of surface area in its basket, making it easy to arrange food in a single layer for better results. The crisper plate has a ceramic coating, which is a bit harder to clean compared with a traditional non-stick coating, though you may prefer it if you try to avoid PTFE coatings.

It provides excellent versatility. With a wide range of temperature settings and a low minimum fan speed, you can use this air fryer for a variety of cooking methods, including roasting, baking, and dehydrating. Its maximum fan speed is a bit slow, which affects how quickly and evenly it cooks, but it's still decent, so the impact isn't too noticeable.

There are a variety of preset cooking modes available:

    • Air Fry: 100 °F–450 °F, 1 min–1 hr, fan speed: 2,700 RPM, probe available
    • Roast: 210 °F–450 °F, 1 min–1 hr, fan speed: 2,770 RPM, probe available
    • Bake: 210 °F–400 °F, 1 min–1 hr, fan speed: 1,585 RPM, probe available
    • Dehydrate: 105 °F–300 °F, 1 min–24 hrs, fan speed: 990 RPM, probe not available
    • Reheat: 210 °F–450 °F
    • Preheat: 210 °F–450 °F, 3–5 mins (auto adjusts), fan speed: 1,500 RPM, probe not available

This air fryer comes with a wireless, rechargeable temperature probe. It has five internal sensors, and the user manual specifies that it must be inserted past the marked safety notch, but not beyond the ceramic handle. Typhur advertises 50 hours of battery life, and it charges magnetically on top of the unit. Using the included probe gives you access to five preset food modes: Beef, Pork, Fish, Chicken, and Whole Chicken.

Depending on the type of meat you're cooking, you can choose between up to five doneness levels: Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Medium Well, and Well Done.

There's also a companion app available for this air fryer. It allows you to monitor your recipe, adjust temperatures remotely, and receive cooking notifications. It also includes an AI function. You can describe what you want to make or send an image of available ingredients and receive recipe ideas, after which you can suggest changes, then send recipe settings straight to the air fryer. The app also gives you access to three additional preset food modes: Fries, Bacon, and Wings.

This air fryer produces great-quality fried food. The vast majority of each batch of fries, chicken nuggets, or veggies comes out crispy and well-cooked, while just a small handful remains undercooked, and only a couple of pieces overcook. This impressive performance is likely due to the air fryer's high maximum power draw and large cooking surface area, which allows for plenty of airflow despite its somewhat slower maximum fan speed.

Temperature stability is a bit of a weak point for this air fryer. It reheats quickly after you open the drawer to add food to the basket, but after that, its temperature fluctuates significantly throughout the rest of the cooking cycle, which makes it harder to follow recipes accurately.
