The Ninja Mega Kitchen System (BL770, BL770AMZ, BL771) is a full-size blender with various jars for different purposes, including a food processing bowl and 16-ounce personal jars for smoothies. It's very well-built, and all of its jars, lids, and blades are dishwasher-safe. However, it can't hot blend and has limited controls.

Our Verdict

7.0 Multi-Purpose

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is a decent multi-purpose blender. It has a great overall blending performance since you can make well-blended smoothies, smooth nut butter, and snow-like crushed ice. It comes with at least one personal jar that you can use to blend single serves and a food processing bowl with blades for chopping and forming dough. However, it can't hot blend, and some blenders do a better job processing big batches of fibrous ingredients like kale. It's on the loud side and doesn't have a big range of speed settings.

Pros
  • Great build quality.
  • Very large 72oz pitcher.
  • Dishwasher-safe blades and jars.
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • Can't hot blend.
  • Bulky design.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
8.7 Smoothies (Single Serving)

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is excellent for single-serve smoothies. This well-built blender comes with at least one 16-ounce personal jar meant for drinks like smoothies. You can use them to make very smooth blends with fibrous ingredients like kale, so smoothies with fruits and vegetables don't have leafy bits or pieces of fruit skin left over. The jars and blades are all dishwasher-safe.

Pros
  • Great build quality.
  • Dishwasher-safe blades and jars.
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • Bulky design.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
8.3 Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is great for multiple servings of smoothies. The main pitcher has a big capacity, so you can make enough to serve a crowd. It does a great job of processing big batches of fibrous ingredients, meaning it can make a well-blended smoothie with kale or blueberries. There may be some visible specks left over, but they're small and uniform in size. Unfortunately, it's not easy to clean the main jar by hand, but it's dishwasher-safe.

Pros
  • Great build quality.
  • Dishwasher-safe blades and jars.
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • Bulky design.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
9.7 Ice Crushing

The Ninja BL771 and its variants are fantastic for crushing ice. This blender is well-built and easily makes snow-like crushed ice.

Pros
  • Great build quality.
  • Fantastic for crushing ice.
  • Dishwasher-safe blades and jars.
Cons
  • Bulky design.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
5.0 Soups

The Ninja BL770AMZ and its variants aren't suitable for hot mixes like soup. This blender can't process hot food safely. If you're working with room temperature ingredients, it can make a well-blended puree with fibrous ingredients like broccoli.

Pros
  • Great build quality.
  • Very large 72oz pitcher.
  • Dishwasher-safe blades and jars.
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • Can't hot blend.
  • Bulky design.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
7.5 Professional Use

The Ninja BL770, BL770AMZ, and BL771 are good for professional use. This blender is well-built, has a big capacity, and is quite versatile. It makes a smooth blend of fibrous ingredients, snow-like crushed ice, and snow-like crushed ice. However, it can't hot blend. It's also hard to clean by hand, but on the plus side, it's dishwasher-safe.

Pros
  • Great build quality.
  • Fantastic for crushing ice.
  • Very large 72oz pitcher.
  • Dishwasher-safe blades and jars.
  • Smoothly blends fibrous ingredients.
Cons
  • Can't hot blend.
  • Bulky design.
  • Difficult to clean by hand.
  • 7.0 Multi-Purpose
  • 8.7 Smoothies (Single Serving)
  • 8.3 Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is available in a few different variants. All models come with a 72-ounce pitcher and the same motor base—the only difference is the extra accessories that are included. We tested the BL770 model but expect the others to perform similarly. However, we haven't tested the performance of the bowl-in-bowl accessory included with the B771.

Compared To Other Blenders

The Ninja BL770 (and its variants BL770AMZ and BL771) is a good all-around blender, but it can't hot blend like the Ninja Foodi Cold & Hot Blender. On the upside, it comes with plenty of accessories like most other Ninja Kitchen System blenders and is equipped for almost anything you can throw at it. All its parts are dishwasher-safe, but the main pitcher's blades make it hard to clean by hand.

If you're still looking for a blender, check out our lists of the best Ninja blenders, the best blenders for smoothies, and the best blenders.

Ninja Foodi Power Pitcher System [CO351B, SS351]

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System and the Ninja Foodi Power Pitcher System have different strengths. The Ninja is better for single-serve drinks like smoothies: it comes with more personal jars and makes a smoother blend with a small amount of fibrous ingredients. The Foodi comes with a jar that makes it easy to use for recipes like nut butter. It also includes an extra blade for forming dough.

Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is better than the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ. They come with similar accessories and perform similarly overall. However, the Mega Kitchen System does a better job of processing fibrous ingredients in its main jar, which is important if you're blending a big batch of fruit smoothies or pureed vegetable soup.

Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System and the Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System are both full-size blenders that are meant to act as food processors. They both include personal jars for single-serve smoothies. The Kitchen System is a little better for making single-serve smoothies since it makes a silkier puree with ingredients like kale using its personal jars. It also has a better build quality. The Ultimate is more convenient to make nut butter if you use its 18-ounce 'Smoothie Βowl Maker' jar and comes with a blade for grating cheese.

Vitamix A3500

The Vitamix A3500 is better than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. The Vitamix is sturdier and does a better job of processing fibrous ingredients and making nut butter. It has more speed settings and comes with a 2-part lid and tamper. You can use it for hot blending, and it's easier to clean by hand. That said, the Ninja's jar is a bit bigger, and it's equally fantastic at crushing ice.

Vitamix Explorian E310

The Vitamix Explorian E310 is a better blender than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. It has a better build quality and can achieve a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients like kale and hard ingredients like nuts. It's also safe for hot blending and easier to clean by hand. On the other hand, the Ninja comes with personal jars that you can use to blend silky single-serve smoothies. Its 72-ounce main pitcher is also slightly better for ice-crushing.

Ninja Foodi Cold & Hot Blender

If you want to blend hot mixes, the Ninja Foodi Cold & Hot Blender is a better option than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. On the other hand, the BL770 might be a better option if you don't plan on making soup or other hot mixes. The BL770 is better at crushing ice and comes with more jugs and accessories than the Foodi, including a food processor bowl.

NutriBullet Blender Combo

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System and the NutriBullet Blender Combo have different strengths, and you may prefer either. The Ninja has a better build quality, can crush ice, and does a much better job with thicker mixtures like nut butter. However, the Nutri is quieter and easier to clean by hand. It's better for processing big batches of fibrous ingredients and can hot blend, so it's the better choice for recipes like soup.

Ninja Professional Plus Blender with Auto-iQ

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is better than the Ninja Professional Plus Blender with Auto-iQ. The Kitchen System comes with personal jars that you can use to make silky smoothies. It's also better at processing big batches of fibrous ingredients in its main jar. The Professional is quieter when it's running, though.

Vitamix 5200

The Vitamix 5200 is better for most purposes than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. The Vitamix has a much better build quality and a more versatile performance since it can hot blend, make big batches of silky smoothies, and process hard ingredients like nuts more easily. It's easier to clean by hand. On the other hand, the Ninja comes with three personal jars with to-go lids that are fantastic for making single-serve smoothies. Its jars, lids, and blades are dishwasher-safe, unlike the Vitamix blender's.

Vitamix A2500

The Vitamix A2500 is better than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System for most purposes. The Vitamix is better built, easier to clean, and more versatile since it can hot blend. It does a much better job of processing big batches of fibrous ingredients and makes smoother nut butter. Then again, you might prefer the Ninja if you want to use your blender for single-serve smoothies because it comes with personal jars. It also includes a food processing bowl to help with things like chopping vegetables and forming dough.

Ninja DUO

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System and the Ninja DUO perform fairly similarly. The DUO makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients, which makes it better for smoothies. Its blade design makes it easier to clean. On the other hand, the Kitchen System comes with a food processing bowl and an additional blade assembly for forming dough.

KitchenAid K150

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is a better full-size blender than the KitchenAid K150. The Ninja is sturdier and performs better for most uses, including making nut butter, crushing ice, and blending small batches of fibrous ingredients for single-serve smoothies and other recipes. On the other hand, the KitchenAid can hot blend and makes a smoother puree with bigger batches of ingredients like kale and broccoli, so it's a better choice for soups, sauces, and multiple servings of smoothies.

Ninja Smart Screen

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is better than the Ninja Smart Screen for most purposes. The Kitchen System makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients, so it's much better for making single servings as well as big batches of smoothies. It has more extras, like personal jars meant for smoothies and a food processing bowl. However, the Smart Screen has a few programs for automatic blending, and it makes better nut butter with less effort.

Vitamix 7500

The Vitamix 7500 is better than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System for most uses. The Vitamix is much sturdier, quieter, and performs better for most uses. It's also easier to clean by hand. However, the Ninja comes with personal jars that can produce a smoother blend when you're working with small batches of fibrous ingredients.

Vitamix A2300

The Vitamix A2300 is a more versatile blender than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. It can do hot blending, which isn't recommended for the Ninja blender. The Vitamix is also noticeably better built. On the other hand, if you don't plan on doing hot mixes, the Ninja comes with two personal jugs and more accessories. It also does a better job at crushing ice than the Vitamix.

Breville The Q

The Breville The Q is a better blender than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System for most uses. Unlike the Ninja, the Breville can hot blend, so you can use it to make soups and purees from warm ingredients. However, the Ninja is better for crushing ice, and it comes with two additional personal jars and a food processor attachment.

Blendtec Designer 725

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is a better blender than the Blendtec Designer 725. The Ninja can produce smooth, spreadable almond butter and a uniform, silky smoothie. Also, it comes with two personal jars and a food processing attachment. The Blendtec has a better build quality and several settings and modes, including a self-cleaning cycle.

Ninja Foodi Power Pitcher SS201

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is a better blender than the Ninja Foodi Power Pitcher SS201 for most uses. The Kitchen System is better built and easier to clean. It also makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients like kale and comes with a pair of personal jars for smoothies and a food processor bowl for chores like chopping vegetables. The SS201 is a smaller, quieter blender.

NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System and the NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo have different strengths. Βoth blenders come with personal jars and are very well-suited for single-serve smoothies. However, the NutriBullet makes a much smoother puree with fibrous ingredients like kale in its main jar, so it's a better choice for big batches of smoothies or soup. On the other hand, the Ninja can make snow-like crushed ice and is more suitable for blending hard ingredients like nuts.

Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ BL642

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is better than the Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ BL642 for most uses. The Kitchen System makes a smoother blend with big batches of fibrous ingredients when you're making multiple servings of smoothies. It also comes with a food processing bowl. However, the BL642 comes with three personal jars for single-serve smoothies instead of two. Their to-go lids are resealable, so you might prefer that model if you plan to use the personal jars as travel cups.

Oster Pro 1200

The Ninja Mega Kitchen System is better for most purposes than the Oster Pro 1200. The Ninja has a significantly better build quality. It comes with a bigger main jar and a pair of personal jars for smoothies instead of just one. It does a better job of making nut butter and crushing ice. However, the Oster can hot blend. Its 48-ounce main jar is made of glass, which some may prefer, and it's easier to clean by hand.

KitchenAid K400

The KitchenAid K400 and the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. The KitchenAid is easier to clean and more versatile since it can hot blend. It makes a smoother puree with big batches of fibrous ingredients, like a recipe for broccoli soup. However, the Ninja comes with personal jars with to-go lids for single-serve drinks like smoothies. It also has a food processing attachment for tasks like slicing and chopping vegetables.

This blender is very well-built. The plastic used feels solid, although the transmission gear could have been metal, which would feel more durable. On the upside, the assembly of all pieces is premium, and there are no gaps. Overall, it feels high-end.

If you want a combo food processor/blender with fewer parts, you may prefer the Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System, which comes with different blades for slicing and grating that work with the main pitcher instead of a separate jar.

The Ninja BL770 and its variants are fantastic for processing small batches of fibrous ingredients. Using one of the 16-ounce personal jars, it takes roughly two minutes to make a very silky smoothie with ingredients like kale. The only downside is that you need to hold down the 'Single Serve' button during the process.

It's good at processing fibrous ingredients in the main jar. If you use its full 72-ounce capacity, it makes a very well-blended puree with ingredients like kale. The ingredients aren't completely liquified, and you can see some small grains left over. A more major downside is that you need to blend for almost 10 minutes for the best results.

This blender is excellent for nut butter. Aside from a few minor inconveniences, it's very easy to use to make smooth, spreadable nut butter. While the blender doesn't have a fine-tuning speed dial like the Ninja Foodi Power Pitcher System, you still have four different preset speeds. The recorded speeds are measured with the main jar, and you reach the lowest speed with the 'Dough' setting and the maximum speed with the 'Crush' setting. You don't have many options for fine-tuning the blending speed, which isn't ideal if you like to start at a low speed and slowly ramp up or if you're trying to achieve a certain texture.

The buttons marked 1-3 correspond to 3 different speed presets. The 'Dough' button provides the lowest blending speed and 'Crush' the highest. These settings aren't blending programs, meaning the blender won't shut off automatically after a set amount of time. The single-serve option can only be selected once a 16-ounce personal jar is docked on the motor base. If you want more blending programs, the Ninja Detect Kitchen System Power Blender has a 'BlendSense' feature for automatic blending and an LED display so you can tell how much time is left in a blending cycle.

Cleaning

It's not easy to clean. Because the blades for the main jar are so sharp, they can be dangerous to clean, and you need to handle them very carefully. Their design adds to the difficulty since food can get caught in the hole at the bottom of the column where it fits into the jar.
