The Blueair Blue Signature Mini is a compact, budget-friendly air purifier intended for small rooms, sold exclusively at Costco as a two-pack. It features a multi-stage filtration system, a motion-sensing display that brightens when you approach, and a particle counter that automatically adjusts fan speed in real time based on current air quality.
Our Verdict
The Blueair Blue Signature Mini is a mediocre option for pet owners. It runs exceptionally quietly and is unlikely to scare even the most skittish of pets. It's also very compact and can be set up almost anywhere in your home. That being said, it's also far from a strong performer, with performance insufficient for all but small bedrooms and home offices. That said, since it's sold as a two-unit package deal, you can increase coverage by running both units in the same place simultaneously.
Exceptionally quiet through all its fan speed settings.
Sold as a two-pack, effectively doubling coverage.
Max CADR as a standalone unit is only sufficient for really small rooms.
The Blueair Blue Signature Mini is a great option for bedrooms. Its clean air delivery rate is just about enough for smaller bedrooms, though it might struggle in larger primary suites, particularly in times when you'd expect exceptionally poor air quality, like wildfire season. It also runs exceptionally quietly, so you can set it up near your bed without worrying it'll wake you. Its display can be turned off to minimize visual distractions, though its power and light buttons remain lit.
Impressively compact footprint.
Exceptionally quiet through all its fan speed settings.
Max CADR as a standalone unit is only sufficient for really small rooms.
Performance degrades even further at lower fan speed settings.
The Blueair Blue Signature Mini's particle filtration rate is poor. Even at its highest fan speed, it's unlikely to be an effective option in any room bigger than a dorm room or home office. It's worth pointing out, however, that it's sold in packs of two, and that running both units simultaneously will provide sufficient coverage for larger spaces.
Sold as a two-pack, effectively doubling coverage.
Max CADR as a standalone unit is only sufficient for really small rooms.
Performance degrades even further at lower fan speed settings.
The Blueair Blue Signature Mini has an impressively small footprint. You can easily set it up on a desk, nightstand, or dresser without it monopolizing valuable real estate on your floor.

Popular Air Purifier Comparisons
The Blueair Blue Signature Mini is a compact, budget-friendly air purifier. It's a highly space-efficient option that runs exceptionally quietly and has a broader feature set than the similarly compact Levoit Core Mini-P, with a particle sensor and automatic fan speed adjustment system. That said, as a standalone unit, its performance is squarely mid-pack for a smaller model; it eclipses the aforementioned Mini-P in this respect, but the Levoit Core 200S offers far higher room coverage in an only slightly larger package. In terms of performance, the Blueair's saving grace is that it's sold as a two-pack, which effectively doubles room coverage, provided you don't mind setting up two air purifiers in the same room.

The Blueair Blue Signature Mini is a better compact air purifier than the Levoit Core Mini-P. The Blueair holds a significant edge in performance across all fan speeds and runs noticeably quieter. Not only that, but it also has a display that shows current particle levels, as well as an automatic fan speed adjustment system.
The Levoit Core 200S is a better-performing air purifier than the Blueair Blue Signature Mini. The Levoit provides a near 50% jump in performance at both units' maximum fan speeds, though it's worth noting that the Blueair holds a small advantage at similarly quiet fan speeds. On that note, the Blueair also runs far more quietly at its highest fan speed.
As a standalone air purifier, the Blueair Blue Signature Small comfortably outperforms the Blueair Blue Signature Mini. The Small provides more than twice the coverage at its highest fan speed, a gap that narrows only marginally at lower speeds. While the Mini runs quieter and has a smaller footprint, the Small is neither noisy nor particularly bulky.
Test Results
This unit has a somewhat dense feature set. There's an integrated particle sensor, which measures air quality in real time; when the air purifier is run in its AUTO mode, it'll automatically adjust its fan speed to suit current conditions. You can also set a timer using the onboard display.
The display also shows current PM2.5 particle levels, which accounts for allergens like fine dust and pollen, and can be dimmed through three levels or turned off automatically. The built-in motion sensor also automatically dims the display if no nearby movement is detected.
This air purifier uses a similar filter arrangement to most other Blueair models. The manufacturer refers to it interchangeably as a four-stage and seven-stage system, but close examination seems to indicate only three physically distinct filters. There's a washable fabric pre-filter, a primary particle filter, and an attached activated carbon filter. The fourth stage likely refers to an electrostatically charged filter layer meant to draw particles toward the unit, but based on the lack of Blueair's own claims, we're unable to verify this.
You'll be able to tell when it's time to replace the filter when the indicator light on the unit's display turns on, which, according to the manufacturer, should last for about a year. Replacements are available directly from the manufacturer's website.
This unit's particle filtration rate is bad. It's only suited to small spaces, like smaller apartment bedrooms, nurseries, or home offices, and will struggle in any larger space.
It's likely that Blueair's own marketing material contains some form of clerical error, with their own CADR rating for smoke being higher than their advertised CADR rating for dust. This is highly unlikely in the real world, with smoke being the more difficult airborne pollutant to deal with. Our own results, tested using submicron particulate matter, fall in line with Blueair's own claims regarding CADR for dust.
Even at its highest fan speed, the Blueair Blue Signature Mini operating noise falls comfortably below our low-noise threshold of 45 dBA, which is why the results for the Low-Noise Particle Filtration Rate and Particle Filtration Rate are identical. As stated earlier, its performance is suited only for smaller rooms. Turning its fan speed lower will only further compromise overall performance.
This is an exceptionally quiet air purifier. Operating noise at its lowest fan speed is barely audible, and even at its highest fan speed, you'll be able to set it up on a nightstand or dresser near your bed and sleep without too much difficulty.
