The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is a premium combination cooling fan and air purifier with a unique selling point. Instead of a simple oscillating mechanism, this unit is equipped with a suite of sensors meant to identify human silhouettes, which then directs the fan. As per the manufacturer, this data is private; it's processed entirely locally within the machine's core processor, with nothing being uploaded to remote cloud storage. As far as filtration goes, the Dyson has a two-stage filter system consisting of an H13-grade HEPA filter and an activated carbon sheet for odor absorption. It also boasts Wi-Fi connectivity and an integrated air quality sensor that allows for automatic fan speed adjustment.
Our Verdict
The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is a sub-par option for pet owners. Its particle filtration rate is quite low, and it'll struggle with clearing the air of airborne debris within even smaller living rooms or dining areas. While it does have an activated carbon sheet for pet odor absorption, it isn't substantial enough to have a big impact in the real world. Its operating noise is relatively quiet at its highest fan speed settings, but better-performing alternatives are quieter at their lowest settings, and it may startle more skittish pets if run continuously. There is Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to monitor air quality and set operating schedules while you're away from home.
In-app connectivity.
Low maximum particle filtration rate.
Particle filtration rate in a low-noise configuration is only sufficient for the smallest of rooms.
Noisier than alternatives at lowest fan speed.
The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is mediocre for bedroom use. Its tracking system is a handy feature when used as a cooling fan. That said, it largely underperforms as an air purifier, with a particle filtration rate that's too low to provide meaningful coverage in all but the smallest of bedrooms. Its operating noise is also on the higher end of the scale compared to better-performing units, though it won't be too disruptive if you're accustomed to having a fan running overnight. While the Find+Follow is quite tall for an air purifier, its actual footprint is rather compact, so finding space for it in a crowded bedroom isn't a tremendous hassle.
In-app connectivity.
Automatic fan speed adjustment system reduces the need for hands-on interaction.
Relatively slim profile.
Low maximum particle filtration rate.
Particle filtration rate in a low-noise configuration is only sufficient for the smallest of rooms.
Noisier than alternatives at lowest fan speed.
The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool's particle filtration rate is disappointing. Even when left to run at its highest fan speed, it'll struggle to provide a good level of air quality within moderately sized spaces, and is only really suited to smaller bedrooms and offices. Lowering the fan speed to reduce operating noise further compromises performance; in a low-noise configuration, this air purifier will struggle even in small dorm rooms and home offices.
Low maximum particle filtration rate.
Particle filtration rate in a low-noise configuration is only sufficient for the smallest of rooms.

Popular Air Purifier Comparisons
The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is a premium combination cooling fan and air purifier. It functions well enough as a cooling fan, as its Find+Follow tracking system is consistent and reliable when it comes to tracking individuals. As an air purifier, however, it's far less impressive. Particle filtration performance is all but identical to the older Dyson Purifier Cool TP07, which is to say, poor. As we discovered in our R&D investigation into air purifier design, Dyson's bladeless fan design tends to produce effective cooling fans due to their high airflow, but little of that airflow actually comes from purified air. Premium purpose-built units like the Blueair Blue Signature Large and Rabbit Air A3 are able to intake significantly more air and have correspondingly higher clean air delivery rates, to the point where you'd be better off buying one of those alongside a simple cooling fan, likely spending less money along the way.

When judged entirely as air purifiers, the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool and Dyson Purifier Cool TP07 deliver all but identical performance. They're both equipped with two-stage HEPA-grade filter systems and share similar exterior designs, which struggle to intake air. As a result, they both deliver low particle filtration rates and struggle to lower airborne particle levels within moderately sized spaces. The Find+Follow's tracking system does help provide more targeted airflow when it's used as a cooling fan, but it's far from a must-have feature.
The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde BP04 is a better air purifier than the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool. The Find+Follow is considerably smaller and can pull double-duty as a cooling fan, but the BP04 simply delivers vastly better overall particle filtration performance, allowing it to improve air quality in much bigger spaces.
As an air purifier, the Blueair Blue Signature Large outperforms the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool in virtually every key metric. At both units' maximum fan speeds, the Blueair can reduce particle levels in an equivalently sized space nearly six times as fast. Not only that, the Blueair runs quieter at its lowest fan speed, and while its overall design is rather wide and squat, it doubles as a piece of functional furniture thanks to its flat top.
The Rabbit Air A3 is a significantly better air purifier than the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool. The Rabbit Air's particle filtration rate is more than triple that of the Dyson, allowing it to operate as a standalone unit in much bigger spaces. Beyond that, it runs quieter at its lowest fan speed, and while its rectangular design is much wider than that of the Dyson, it can be wall-mounted to free up floor space. The Dyson's sole advantage is that it can be used as a cooling fan, but that's a small consolation given the substantial gulf in air purification performance.
Test Results
This unit's eponymous Find And Follow function is accurate and consistent when tracking individuals, but struggles when more than one person is present. It can maintain consistent tracking on individuals from roughly 20 feet away.
The Dyson PC3 air purifier has a two-stage filter system comprised of a H13-grade HEPA filter for dealing with the usual assortment of bacteria, mold spores, pollen, and pet dander, along with an Activated Carbon sheet for minimizing odors. Like a lot of other household air purifiers, it's unlikely that the amount of activated carbon contained within is sufficient to have a big impact on odors.
The two-stage filter should be replaced yearly. Replacements can be found on Dyson's website.
