The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo is a well-built full-size blender that comes with a 64-ounce main jar, as well as a pair of differently-sized personal jars. It's available primarily through the NutriBullet website. Unlike the previous model, the NutriBullet Blender Combo, all of its controls are on a touchscreen, which gives it a sleek look and makes it easier to wipe clean. You can use the personal jars to make amazing smoothies, and the main jar to make decent almond butter and to blend hot ingredients. Unfortunately, it's not intended for crushing ice, although you can add a couple of ice cubes into your smoothie, according to the manufacturer. Also, it can be a bit more difficult to clean it after making sticky foods.

Our Verdict

6.5 Multi-Purpose

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo is okay for multi-purpose use. It's very well-built and makes great, silky smoothies in both of its personal jars. It has a large-capacity main jar that can be used for blending hot ingredients into soups and sauces. It also makes decent almond butter, but it's difficult to clean afterward, and unfortunately, it can't be used for crushing ice.

Pros
  • Impressive build quality.
  • Can hot blend in main jar.
Cons
  • Not intended for crushing ice.
  • Can be difficult to clean.
6.9 Smoothies/Protein Shakes

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo is alright for making smoothies and protein shakes. Using either of the smaller jars, it can process frozen banana chunks and leafy greens like kale into excellent, silky smoothies. Unfortunately, though, while you can add a couple of ice cubes to your smoothie or shake, it's not intended for crushing ice on its own. On the plus side, it's impressively well-built and easy to clean if you've been working with liquidy ingredients like for a smoothie or shake.

Pros
  • Makes excellent smoothies in smaller jars.
  • Impressive build quality.
Cons
  • May need to shake jar while making smoothies.
  • Not intended for crushing ice.
3.2 Ice Crushing

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo isn't intended for ice crushing, according to the manufacturer.

8.7 Soups

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo is great for making soups. The main jar has a big, 64-ounce capacity, and can be used to blend hot ingredients like roasted vegetables into soups and stews. It's very well-built and can incorporate fibrous greens like kale into a silky smoothie, so it shouldn't have much issue with softer, cooked food. It's usually quite easy to clean, although if you're working with stickier ingredients, it can be a bit tricky, and you may need to use a sponge.

Pros
  • Can hot blend in main jar.
  • Main jar has a large capacity.
Cons
  • Personal jars cannot be used for hot blending.
6.5 Professional Use

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo is okay for professional use. It has a great build quality, and its main jar has a big, 64-ounce capacity. It also comes with two personal jars that you can use to make impressive smoothies. Unfortunately, it's not intended for ice crushing, and while it can make decent almond butter, it's a long process. It's also tricky to clean if you've been working with sticky ingredients.

Pros
  • Impressive build quality.
  • Main jar has a large capacity.
Cons
  • Not intended for crushing ice.
  • Can be difficult to clean.
  • 6.5 Multi-Purpose
  • 6.9 Smoothies/Protein Shakes
  • 3.2 Ice Crushing
  • 8.7 Soups
  • 6.5 Professional Use

Build Quality

The NutriBullet Smart Touch has a great build quality. The plastic used for the jars feels high-quality, and the gear on the motor base is sturdy, as it's made of rubberized plastic and encased in metal. The motor base's touch-sensitive surface is easy to clean and it has vents to dissipate heat from the motor. The underside has two grippy feet and two suction cups, which help keep it from slipping around while blending but don't prevent you from easily moving the blender. The main jar comes with a two-part lid that has a pouring spout and a safety pin that needs to be fitted with the jar for the blender to run.

The NutriBullet Smart Touch's main jar has a 64-ounce capacity, although if you're blending liquids, it should only be filled to 56 ounces. If you're blending solid food, like almonds for nut butter, it can be filled all the way up to 64 ounces. The jar has a spout for easier pouring, and it can be cleaned by being placed on the top rack of your dishwasher, but shouldn't be put through a 'sanitize' cycle. The blades are fixed inside and can't be removed.

They each come with a to-go lid and work with the included "Easy Twist" blade assembly, which screws onto the jars. The jars and lids are top-rack dishwasher-safe, but the blade assembly isn't.

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender's main jar has six blades fixed inside of it that can't be removed. They aren't very sharp but still have an edge, like a dull knife. Also included is an "Easy Twist" blade assembly for the additional jars. The main jar can go in your dishwasher, but the "Easy Twist" assembly should be washed by hand.

Friction

The NutriBullet Smart Touch's main jar comes with a lid that uses friction to stay in place. It also has two clips to help secure it, an improvement over the lid for the NutriBullet Blender Combo, which tends to pop out of place. It has a safety pin that has to fit onto the main jar for the blender to turn on. There are a pouring spout and a center piece that can be removed so that you can use the tamper or add ingredients. It also doubles as a two-ounce measuring cup. You can use your thumb to push up on the back of the lid so it pops off, making it really easy to remove.

The NutriBullet Smart Touch is satisfactory for making almond butter. It produces good-tasting, crunchy almond butter, but unfortunately, the process is a little tedious. According to the manufacturer, you shouldn't run the blender for more than one minute continuously before undocking the main jar and letting it rest for a minute, so you need to stop the blender and wait a few times. If you run 'Puree' mode twice, followed by one-minute blends on 'Low' and then 'Medium' speed, it takes roughly 10 minutes to make almond butter with a crunchy, but fairly uniform and spreadable texture. You may also need to use the tamper while blending to push the almonds off the sides of the jar.

Smooth

The NutriBullet Smart Touch makes an amazing smoothie in its 32oz additional jar. It's very silky, with no leafy bits or grains. You can use the blender's 'Smoothie' mode, which lasts for one minute, but you need to run it more than once, shaking the jar in between each cycle so that the ingredients get caught by the blades. As a result of all that blending, it makes smoothies that are a bit warmer than is ideal. If you're looking for a blender that makes even better smoothies, try the Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ BL642.

The NutriBullet Smart Touch also makes excellent smoothies in its other, 20oz personal jar. Similar to the 32oz jar, you need to run a few one-minute cycles and shake the jar in between so that everything gets caught by the blades. The result is a silky but slightly warm smoothie. Unlike with the 32oz jar, there are some tiny chunks left in the mix, but the process is a little faster with this jar.

Similarly, if you use the main jar to make smoothies, the ingredients tend to get stuck away from the blades, so you may need to use the tamper to push them down and run 'Smoothie' mode more than once. The result is a pleasant-tasting but slightly chunky and leafy smoothie.

  • Purees: 1 minute using main jar, 30 seconds using personal jars

Almond Butter Cleaning
Difficult

This NutriBullet Smart Touch is passably easy to clean. The main jar, additional jars, and lids are dishwasher-safe. If you've been making smoothies or something else liquidy, all of the jars and lids are easy to wash by hand. However, cleaning up after making almond butter is more difficult. You may need to run the blender with soap and water and then scrub it clean with a sponge. Unfortunately, food tends to get caught in the ridges inside the jar and the underside of the lid, making it a bit of a pain to get everything clean. Also, the 'Easy Twist' blade assembly for the personal jars isn't dishwasher-safe and always needs to be cleaned by hand.

This NutriBullet Smart Touch has a couple of extra features. It comes with a tamper you can use to push ingredients around in the main jar. Also, the blender automatically detects what size of jar you're using and adjusts the length of the blend accordingly. The 'Soup' mode is only available if you're using the main jar because it can be used to blend hot ingredients, but the smaller jars can't.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo comes in one color variant, 'Black'. You can see the label for the unit we tested here. It's also sold as just the NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender, which is a variant that comes with the same blender, main jar, and tamper, but doesn't include any personal jars. We tested the Combo variant, which also includes two personal jars, an 'Easy Twist' blade assembly, and to-go lids, but we expect the other variant to perform similarly to our unit. If you come across another variant or your blender is different, please let us know in the discussions so we can update our review.

Compared To Other Blenders

The NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender Combo is a well-built full-size blender that comes with two personal jars. While it looks a lot like the previous model, the NutriBullet Blender Combo, it performs much better for most uses. Unlike most full-size models that we've tested, like the Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL770 or the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ, it's not intended for crushing ice. However, unlike those models, you can use its main jar to blend hot ingredients.
