The Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO is a compact full-size blender. Its 34-ounce main jar has a built-in tamper that you can use to stir your recipe, similar to the 'Smoothie Bowl Maker' jars that come with other Ninja blenders like the Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System. There's also a 24-ounce jar for single-serve smoothies. Unlike other full-size Ninja blenders, it has only one speed setting.
The Ninja TWISTi is decent for multi-purpose use. It's well-suited for making a smooth puree with fibrous ingredients. It also produces smooth, spreadable nut butter and snow-like crushed ice. However, its main jar has a small capacity for a full-size blender. Some recipes, including thick mixes like nut butter, require you to use the built-in tamper, which makes it a bit less convenient than some blenders. You also can't use it for hot blending.
The Ninja TWISTi is great for single-serve smoothies. Using the 24-ounce personal jar, making a silky smoothie with fibrous ingredients like kale doesn't take long. There's also a resealable lid for the jar, which is nice if you like to take your smoothie with you on the go. The jars, lids, and blades are also dishwasher-safe.
The Ninja TWISTi is good for multiple servings of smoothies. If you fill the main jar to its full capacity, it can produce a silky blend with fibrous ingredients. That said, the main jar's capacity is small for a full-size blender, which isn't ideal if you regularly serve a crowd. Ingredients can sometimes get stuck between the tamper arms and the walls of the jar, resulting in unprocessed pieces in your smoothie. Rotating the tamper helps avoid this. The main jar is difficult to clean by hand, especially the lid.
The Ninja TWISTi has a small main jar and does best when crushing about six ice cubes. It's limiting if you're looking to process a lot of ice, but it's still suitable for making ice for single-serve frozen drinks or cocktails. It takes longer than some of the best ice-crushing blenders; ice can melt during the blending process.
The Ninja TWISTi isn't safe for hot blending, so if you want to make soup, you must let your ingredients cool down first. The main jar has a small capacity, so depending on your recipe, you may need to work with multiple batches. However, it makes a very smooth puree with fibrous vegetables like kale or broccoli.
The Ninja TWISTi is okay for professional use. It's well-suited for processing fibrous ingredients for smoothies, and the built-in tamper is handy for making smooth nut butter. It can produce small batches of snow-like crushed ice as well. However, you can't use it for hot blending, and it has only one speed setting. While it's well-built overall, the motor base feels a bit cheap.
We've updated the results to more accurately reflect the blender's performance. The score for Fibrous Ingredients (Small Batches) processing changed from 9.5 to 8.5 because of the blending time. The score for Fibrous Ingredients (Full Capacity) changed from 7.5 to 6.0 because of the blending time and the need to use the built-in tamper.
The Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO (SS150) comes in either 'Platinum' or 'Gray.' We tested the 'Gray' color; you can see the label for the unit we tested here. There's also a variant with the model number CO150B available from Costco (U.S.). That model comes with two 24oz personal jars ('Nutrient Extraction Cups') instead of just one, but we expect our results to be valid for it as well.
If you encounter another variant, please let us know in the forums, and we'll update the review.
The Ninja TWISTi is a compact full-size blender, like the Vitamix ONE or the Nutribullet Rx. The main jar's 'built-in tamper' is useful when working with thicker mixes like nut butter. This blender is also very well-suited for single-serve smoothies since, unlike the Vitamix ONE, it comes with a 24-ounce personal jar and a matching to-go lid. However, it's not very versatile since it can't process hot ingredients and has a small capacity for a full-size blender.

The Ninja Foodi Power Pitcher System and the Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO have different strengths. The TWISTi is a small blender with a 34oz capacity in its biggest jar. It's able to process small batches of fibrous ingredients faster, like for a single-serve smoothie. The Foodi's 72oz main jar can handle bigger batches and is better for ice crushing. It's much quieter.
The Ninja Foodi Power Nutri DUO and the Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO are quite similar, so which you'll prefer really depends on how much capacity you need. Both blenders come with jars that have rotating arms inside, which helps process recipes like nut butter without any need to remove the lid and stir. The Ninja TWISTi is a full-size blender with a 34oz capacity in its main jar and an 18oz 'Smoothie Bowl Maker'. The Foodi is a personal blender, so it has a smaller 24oz capacity in its biggest jar and a 14oz 'Smoothie Bowl Maker'. The Foodi has a slightly better performance for most recipes, including smoothies, so it's a better option if you don't mind its smaller capacity.
The Vitamix Explorian E310 is better for most purposes than the Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO. It has a better build quality, a larger capacity, and a better performance when processing fibrous ingredients, nut butter, and ice. It can process hot ingredients. On the other hand, the TWISTi comes with a personal jar with a to-go lid for smoothies.
The nutribullet Rx is better than the Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO. The Rx makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients. You can use it to heat up ingredients for recipes like soup and it's easier to clean by hand as well as quieter. The TWISTi is a better ice crusher and comes with a travel lid for one of its jars.
The Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO is better than the Vitamix ONE. Both are compact full-size blenders, but the Ninja comes with a personal jar and a to-go lid for smoothies. It's also more versatile since it can make smooth nut butter and snow-like crushed ice. It also has a significantly better build quality. However, it has only one speed setting while the Vitamix has a variable speed dial that gives you more control over the blending process.
The Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO is better than the Magic Bullet Combo Blender. It has a better build quality and performance, as you can use it to make crushed ice and nut butter, and it makes a smoother blend with bigger batches of fibrous ingredients. However, it has a smaller capacity in its main jar and makes more noise when it's running.
The Ninja TWISTi is a compact blender. Even though it's a full-size blender, its size and capacity are closer to some personal blenders. It's only a bit heavier and a few inches taller than the Ninja Foodi Power Nutri DUO.
The Ninja TWISTi has a good build quality. The jars and lids are thick plastic, and the gears and transmission are rubber. The flap on the lid is easy to maneuver, and the suction cup feet under the motor base also do a pretty good job of keeping it in place when you're blending. That said, the materials used don't feel sturdy or premium, and the motor base feels cheap, especially the buttons.
It has a small 34oz capacity in its main jar. The additional jar holds 18 ounces, so it's well-suited for single-serve smoothies. might prefer the Ninja Detect Duo Power Blender Pro if you want a blender with personal jars and a bigger main jar for multiple servings.
It makes a nearly perfectly smooth puree with fibrous ingredients like kale. There are a few small unprocessed bits left over. It's a small step down from the Ninja Foodi Power Nutri DUO (which gets a perfect score) since it makes a slightly grainier blend and is slower. You have to run a couple of one-minute blending programs, so it's not quite as easy to use as blenders that get it done in one cycle.
Filled to its full capacity, it makes a mostly smooth puree with ingredients like kale. The process is a bit more hands-on than with the 24oz jar because you need to turn the knob to operate the built-in tamper. If you don't, some ingredients can get caught between the arms and the sides of the jar. This means you can't step away and let the blender run for the whole process, so it's a more difficult process than with some blenders, like the Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro.
It's excellent for crushing ice but can't handle as many ice cubes as most good full-size blenders. Using the high-speed switch to simulate pulse mode, crushing six ice cubes takes a couple of minutes. Because it takes a little longer than some blenders, the ice melts a bit during the process. We usually test a batch of 12 ice cubes in a full-size blender, but this blender's main jar is small. You end up with a lot of unprocessed chunks if you use a 'full batch' of 12 ice cubes. If ice crushing is a top priority, most other full-size blenders from Ninja, like the Ninja Foodi Power Βlender & Processor System, are better for ice crushing.
It's well-suited for making nut butter in its main jar. It doesn't take very long to produce smooth, spreadable nut butter. There may be a bit of unprocessed dust caught under the blades. You need to use the knob to turn the built-in tamper so the blender doesn't do all the work. However, unlike some full-size blenders like the KitchenAid K150, its design also means you don't have to remove the lid and stir.
The Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender Duo is a loud blender, similar to the Ninja Foodi Power Nutri DUO or the Ninja DUO. The noise is likely irritating if you're standing near it for a few minutes. Many blenders, including the KitchenAid K150 and the Ninja Detect Duo Power Blender Pro, make less noise.
This blender has one speed setting, which is unusual for a full-size blender. It's fast, which can be annoying if you want to start at a lower speed to incorporate thick recipes. However, the main jar's built-in tamper helps keep all the ingredients close to the blades when making something like nut butter.
It has a few 'auto-iQ' blending programs, which means the program alternates between blending and pulsing. It also stops automatically at the end of a cycle. However, unlike newer blenders like the Ninja Detect Duo Power Blender Pro, its 'Auto-iQ' feature isn't advertised to detect the consistency and volume of your recipe. There's a dedicated button for pulse mode. You can also press 'start/stop' for manual mode, which runs the blender continuously for 60 seconds.
This blender is a bit tedious to clean. The built-in tamper requires scrubbing, and some parts of the lid are hard to reach with a brush. The blade assembly gasket also tends to trap residue and needs extra attention with a sponge or brush. As with most Ninja blenders, the blades are very sharp, so you need to be careful not to cut yourself.
