The Panasonic FlashXpress NB-G110P is a small, high-end toaster oven with a retro look, including an old-fashioned digital timer. It's mainly intended for toasting and for reheating snacks like small frozen pizzas or hashbrowns. Its timer goes up to 25 minutes, and it has eight temperature presets for cooking manually. This toaster oven comes with a baking tray and wire rack.

Our Verdict

7.0
Mixed Usage

The Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven is decent for mixed usage. It maintains a stable, accurate temperature during cooking, so you can follow recipes and bake cookies or a frozen pizza without your food drying out before it's cooked. It toasts bread just as fast as a good slot toaster. This toaster oven's biggest downside for baking is its capacity. It can fit a 9" pizza, a small batch of cookies, or a cake pan, but it can't accommodate casseroles or baking sheets. It's also not meant for air frying as it lacks a fan.

Pros
  • Toasts very quickly.

  • Maintains a stable temperature.

Cons
  • Small capacity.

  • No air fry function.

8.8
Leftovers

The Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven is excellent for reheating leftovers. This small toaster oven has a limited capacity, so something like a lasagna may not fit, but it preheats very quickly. It can sometimes slightly overshoot your selected temperature, but for most of the cooking, it maintains a stable, accurate temperature, which helps prevent your leftovers from drying out before they're heated through.

Pros
  • Maintains a stable temperature.

  • Preheats quickly.

Cons
  • Can overshoot selected temperature slightly.

8.9
Baking

The Panasonic FlashXpress has excellent temperature stability. It maintains a stable, accurate temperature for most of the cooking. It tends to overshoot your selected temperature setting right after you add food, but not by too much. The temperature is also very uniform throughout the cooking chamber. This helps make the toaster oven's performance more predictable and helps prevent your cookies or bread from drying out or burning before being properly baked.

Pros
  • Maintains a stable temperature.

  • Temperature is uniform inside cooking chamber.

Cons
  • Can overshoot selected temperature slightly.

4.7
Air Frying

The Panasonic FlashXpress isn't intended for air frying. It has no fan or air-fry function, and its small cooking chamber means you don't have much room for arranging food in a single layer. While it's not the absolute slowest option and produces some crispy food, it's not a good choice for air-fried foods like chicken wings or veggies.

Pros
None
Cons
  • No air fry function.

7.5
Toasting

The Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven is good for toasting. It can fit four slices and makes golden-brown toast just as fast as a good slot-style toaster, which is rare for a toaster oven. It tends to cook the top of the bread faster and leaves some edges pale, so it doesn't produce the best toast, but the results are satisfactory.

Pros
  • Toasts very quickly.

Cons
  • Toasts one side more.

6.3
Cooking Capacity

The Panasonic FlashXpress has a fairly small capacity. It can fit four slices of bread, plates, bowls, or smaller cookware like a square cake pan. However, it won't fit the average frozen pizza or a casserole dish.

Pros
None
Cons
  • Small capacity.

    Differences Between Sizes And Variants

This toaster oven comes in 'Black,' 'Silver,' and 'White.' We tested it in 'Silver.' Here's a picture of our unit's label.

If you encounter another variant, let us know in the comments, and we'll update our review.

    Popular Toaster Oven Comparisons

The Panasonic FlashXpress NB-G110P is a small toaster oven that stands out for its unique look. It's more expensive than some other small toaster ovens, like the Black+Decker Natural Convection 4-Slice TO1756SB and the Hamilton Beach 31143, and it lacks a broil mode, unlike the Black+Decker and the Hamilton Beach. There's also no 'Stay On' option, so you must reset the timer if your food takes more than 25 minutes. That said, it has better temperature stability, which can help it produce better results when baking a frozen pizza or a small batch of cookies. It can also make four slices of golden-brown toast significantly faster.

It has a small capacity—it'll fit four slices of bread or a 9" pizza—and only one possible rack position. That said, its cooking chamber has a bit more capacity than other small models like the Hamilton Beach 31143 or the Black+Decker Natural Convection 4-Slice TO1756SB. You can fit a 9" x 9" cake pan inside, and it has more vertical space for taller items.

This simple toaster oven has buttons for six different modes. These modes automatically set the temperature, and to determine the cooking time for any of the modes, you select one of five shade settings (Light - Dark).

    These are the six functions:

    • Toast
    • Waffle/Frozen (Toasting frozen waffles or bread)
    • Roll/Reheat (Heating without browning)
    • Pizza/Frozen (Baking frozen pizza)
    • Quick/Reheat (Reheating fried food)
    • Hash Brown/Frozen (Cooking frozen hash browns)

You can also cook manually. Unlike most toaster ovens, which offer a temperature range and allow you to fine-tune the specific temperature setting, this toaster oven has eight temperature presets: 250 °F, 285 °F, 320 °F, 355 °F, 390 °F, 425 °F, 460 °F, and 500 °F. You can set the timer for up to 25 minutes, but it has no 'Stay On' option, unlike other small toaster ovens like the Hamilton Beach 31143. There's no fan or broil mode, but it does have a chamber light that you control with a button.

    Cleaning
    Coated Baking Tray

    Coated Interior
    No

It's easy to clean, especially for a small toaster oven. The interior lacks a non-stick coating, so it's harder to remove stuck-on grease, but it's not overly difficult to reach into and clean despite its small size. It's easy to clean under and around the upper and lower elements. However, the bracket in the top left cover of the cooking chamber is sharp, so you have to be careful not to cut yourself. Crumbs can also accumulate at the bottom of the door. The baking tray also lacks a non-stick coating, and it's tricky to remove the wire rack.

It's decent for toasting at maximum capacity. It does a good job of evenly browning the surface of the bread, although the corners of some slices come out underdone. The top face of the bread also gets toasted more than the bottom face.

It's not intended for air frying. Using it for commonly air-fried foods like French fries and chicken wings takes a long time. It cooks the food unevenly, so more than half turns out either under or overcooked. That said, it's faster and produces a bigger proportion of crispy food compared to some similar toaster ovens, like the Black+Decker Natural Convection 4-Slice TO1756SB.

It has excellent temperature stability. After you open the door to add food, it tends to overcompensate for the drop in temperature and ends up overshooting your selected setting. However, it's not by much, and afterward, it cools down and maintains a very stable, accurate temperature throughout cooking. The temperature is also very uniform within the chamber. Overall, its very stable and accurate temperature helps you get good results when baking and reheating without drying out or burning your food.

It toasts bread quickly. Using its full four-slice capacity, it makes golden-brown toast faster than other toaster ovens we've tested, including the Hamilton Beach 31143 and the Breville the Mini Smart Oven BOV450XL.
