The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 is a large combi oven, meaning it uses convection and steam. This high-end toaster oven is marketed as a replacement for your regular oven and has a wide variety of functions and features. There are 11 different functions, including 'Steam,' 'Air Fry,' 'Convection Bake,' and 'Sous Vide,' which uses a special wet bulb sensor and steam instead of a water bath. The manual cooking mode lets you adjust its fan speed and humidity level. This oven offers plenty of high-tech features, some of which require a monthly subscription, such as AI food recognition and cooking suggestions. While many options are available directly on the oven's touchscreen, it's also compatible with an app that offers features like remote control and grocery scanning.
The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 is okay for mixed usage. This large toaster oven is well-suited for baking because of its excellent temperature stability. It's marketed as an alternative for your regular oven, and while it's not quite as big, its large cooking chamber can fit a 9" x 13" baking sheet, a whole chicken, or a couple of loaf pans, so you can bake or roast all kinds of recipes. However, it's not good for air frying despite having an air fry function. Its slow preheat speed makes it less convenient for reheating leftovers. Toasting isn't one of its main functions, and it's not ideal for that purpose either.

The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 isn't good for reheating leftovers. It preheats slowly, which is normal for a big oven but makes it much less appealing to use for reheating a quick snack or a batch of leftovers. If you don't mind waiting, its large cooking chamber can accommodate a casserole or 12-inch pizza. It has excellent temperature stability, which helps ensure your food gets heated through without drying out.

The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 has excellent temperature stability, which makes it very well-suited for baking. It takes a while to come back to temperature after you open the door to add food to the preheated oven. Still, it maintains a very stable and accurate temperature throughout cooking. It never overshoots your temperature setting, and there are no major hot or cold spots, which helps you get better results when baking.

The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 isn't good for air frying. While its big cooking chamber gives you lots of room for arranging food in a single layer and this model has an 'Air Fry' function, it doesn't come with a mesh basket for air frying. If you use it for air-fried foods like Brussels sprouts or chicken wings, some of your food will come out crispy, but most will be either under or overcooked. It's also pretty slow.
Fan isn't very powerful.
Air fries unevenly.
The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 is mediocre for toasting. It can fit eight slices of sandwich bread and toasts the surface of each slice pretty evenly. However, it's slow and toasts the top face of the bread much faster than the bottom face, so you may need to flip the bread so that both sides get toasted more equally. It performs a little better with just four slices, but it's still much slower than a slot toaster.

The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 has an excellent capacity. This large oven can fit eight slices of bread, a 12-inch pizza, or a 12-cup muffin tin. There's enough vertical space in the chamber for items like a whole chicken or a loaf of bread.

The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 stands out for its steam function, high-tech features, and high price. With functions like 'Sous Vide' and a built-in temperature probe, it's best-suited for people who want to experiment with combi cooking or are interested in its other extra features, like its recipe collection, cooking guides, and AI capabilities. True to its name, it offers excellent temperature stability, which is important for baking, roasting, and reheating. However, it's not the best option for other common toaster oven uses like toasting and air frying. The Breville the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900BSS has a much better air frying performance, while the Wolf Gourmet Elite WGCO150S offers even better temperature stability, although it can't add steam.
This is a big toaster oven. Its cooking chamber can accommodate a 12-cup muffin tin, 9" x 13" baking pan, or nine slices of bread. You can also use it for something like a whole chicken. It has five possible rack positions, so you have more options for placing your food compared with some other large ovens like the Breville the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900BSS.
When just considering its manual cooking options, it's very versatile: you can set its adjustable fan to low, medium, or high for most functions. The steam function allows you to select 10% - 100% humidity. The timer goes up to 99 hours and 59 minutes for any function, longer than most toaster ovens without a 'Stay On' feature.
The oven's main selling point is its more techy features. It has a built-in temperature probe that you can use to cook meats to a specific internal temperature. The oven's touchscreen works a bit like an app, giving you access to a collection of recipes and cooking guides. There's also an app that lets you monitor cooking and even start preheating from afar.
The oven has an internal camera that can use AI to recognize what you put in it and then suggest a function, temperature, and time for cooking it. You can't currently watch your food cook through the camera, but the company says that feature is on the way. You can also scan grocery items for AI-suggested cooking instructions or use the app to convert recipes for the Anova oven.
However, many of these features, including any AI capabilities and the recipe collection, are premium features that require a subscription. You can still use any function and cook manually without a subscription.
Here's a list of all the functions. While 'Toast' isn't one of its main functions, there are cooking modes available for toast, as well as bagels, frozen waffles, and more if you use its cooking guide feature.

The oven's 'Sous Vide' mode uses steam instead of a water bath. The manufacturer says it uses a wet bulb sensor (instead of the dry bulb sensor it uses for other functions) to keep the oven's temperature equal to the temperature on the surface of your food. You can read more about this mode on Anova's website. There's a separate 'Dry Sous Vide' mode meant for cooking food slowly at low temperatures without steam. Unlike the Cuisinart Digital Air Fryer CTOA-130PC3, another toaster oven with a similar 'Air Sous Vide' mode, you're not supposed to put your food in pouches.
It's easy to clean. Its large interior is easy to maneuver your hand around. You can flip the upper element down to facilitate cleaning behind it. Similarly, the lower element flips up. However, it has no crumb tray, so cleaning out the bottom of the oven can be a pain. Neither the interior of the oven nor the baking tray has a non-stick coating, and removing stuck-on grease requires extra scrubbing. You'll also have to clean its pair of water tanks. These are narrow and need a brush to properly scrub. The manufacturer recommends using distilled water, but the oven also has a descale feature.
It toasts decently evenly at maximum capacity. While it toasts each slice quite evenly, there's a big difference between the top and bottom surface of the bread, so much so that only one side really seems toasted. Unlike most other toaster ovens we've tested, it doesn't have 'Toast' as one of its main functions and is marketed more as a replacement for your oven than for your toaster.
It's not good for air frying. If you use it to air fry foods like vegetables or chicken wings, it takes a while, and most of your food turns out either underdone or nearly burnt. Other large ovens like the Breville the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900BSS perform much better. This oven's fan isn't particularly powerful. It also doesn't come with a mesh air frying basket, which is unusual for a toaster oven/air fryer and may contribute to its poor performance. While Anova doesn't sell one, they do offer a perforated pan advertised for air frying, among other uses.
Preheating takes a while, which is expected for such a big toaster oven.
It has excellent temperature stability. After you open the door to add food to the preheated oven, it takes a while to recover and tends to maintain a temperature slightly below your selected setting. However, overall, it keeps an accurate, stable temperature without major fluctuations, which makes it easier to get good results when cooking delicate foods and helps prevent your food from burning or drying out. The temperature throughout the cooking chamber is very uniform.
It toasts slowly, whether at max capacity or with only four slices. Toaster ovens like the Breville the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900BSS can make nine slices of bread faster, and almost any slot toaster will make four slices much quicker.
