The Midea Flexify Pro is a large-capacity oven-style air fryer with French doors. It offers a range of functions, including Air Fry, Bake, Broil, Reheat, and Toast, along with a handful of pizza presets that vary depending on whether you're making a thin crust, rising crust, deep dish, or classic pizza.

Our Verdict

7.5
Air Frying

The Midea Flexify Pro offers good performance for air frying. This air fryer makes mostly crispy, evenly fried food, with just a few undercooked pieces in the mix. The slow maximum fan speed impacts how quickly it can cook, but it still cooks simple air fryer meals and snacks, like fries, chicken nuggets, and mozzarella sticks, reasonably fast. Beyond air frying, it also offers impressive versatility. With a wide range of temperature settings and a low minimum fan speed, it's also a good choice for dehydrating, proofing dough, baking, and broiling. Having said that, its maximum fan speed is quite low, so it's not the best choice for tasks that require quick surface browning for moist foods, like frying mushrooms or crisping chicken drumsticks.

Pros
  • Cooks frozen snacks reasonably fast.

  • Crisps frozen fried foods effectively.

  • Wide temperature range and low fan speed provide additional versatility.

Cons
  • Low maximum fan speed limits utility for roasting/extra crispy food.

8.4
Large Batch Cooking

The Midea Flexify Pro is a great choice for large-batch cooking. Its stable temperature and roomy air-frying basket help it produce fried food very evenly. It preheats slowly, but it doesn't take too long to cook, so you can make multiple batches fairly quickly. While the top fan speed is quite slow, making it a less impressive option for quickly browning moist foods, like cauliflower florets or meatballs, it's still a very versatile option. It has a wide range of temperature settings, which makes it possible to dehydrate on the low end or broil on the high end, and it can reach a very low fan speed, which is helpful for proofing dough, baking, or cooking foods that dry out easily, like fish.

Pros
  • Cooks frozen snacks reasonably fast.

  • Large cooking chamber has space for a variety of recipes.

  • Crisps frozen fried foods effectively.

  • Wide temperature range and low fan speed provide additional versatility.

Cons
  • Like most oven-style air fryers, it preheats slowly.

  • Low maximum fan speed limits utility for roasting/extra crispy food.

7.8
Frying Performance

The Midea Flexify Pro makes very good-quality fried food. It comes with a spacious air frying basket that gives you lots of room to arrange food in a single layer, and it maintains a stable temperature while cooking. As a result, each batch of frozen hashbrowns, onion rings, or yam fries comes out very evenly cooked, with just a small handful remaining undercooked. That said, its maximum fan speed is very slow, which impacts how quickly your food cooks. It still works reasonably fast compared to other large oven-style air fryers, but most basket-style models finish cooking faster.

Pros
  • Roomy basket allows you to spread food out for crispier results.

  • Crisps frozen fried foods effectively.

  • Stable temperature helps food cook evenly.

Cons
  • Low maximum fan speed limits utility for roasting/extra crispy food.

6.2
Cooking Speed

While it cooks simple meals and snacks, like frozen fries or chicken nuggets, fairly quickly, it takes a long time to preheat, causing a delay before you can start cooking. That said, a slow preheat speed is common among oven-style air fryers, which usually have more volume to heat than smaller basket-style air fryers.

Pros
  • Cooks frozen snacks reasonably fast.

  • Includes a preheat reminder, so you know when to start cooking.

Cons
  • Like most oven-style air fryers, it preheats slowly.

9.1
Cooking Capacity

The Midea Flexify Pro has a very large cooking capacity, which is typical of oven-style air fryers. It has a wide, tall cooking chamber, so there's room for a 12-inch pizza, a loaf of banana or zucchini bread, or a tray of stuffed peppers. There's plenty of surface area in the basket, too, so it's very easy to arrange food in a single layer for better results.

Pros
  • Large cooking chamber has space for a variety of recipes.

  • Roomy basket allows you to spread food out for crispier results.

Cons
4.2
Size

The Midea Flexify Pro is a very large air fryer, which is common for oven-style air fryers. It takes up a lot of counter space and isn't easy to store in a cupboard.

Cons

    Popular Air Fryer Comparisons

The Midea Flexify Pro French Door Air Fryer Oven is a large-capacity air fryer that excels at making crispy, evenly cooked fried foods. Like the Our Place Wonder Oven Pro and Breville the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro, it's a great choice for large-batch cooking, thanks to its roomy interior and large air-frying basket surface area. This makes it easy to spread items out, so you can air fry more food in one go. However, the Midea cooks faster and more evenly than either the Our Place or Breville, so less of each batch comes out too soft or burnt.

This model even competes with many high-performing basket-style air fryers when it comes to frying quality, which is rare for a toaster oven-style fryer. For example, it leaves a little more of each batch of fries, onion rings, or chicken nuggets crispy than the COSORI TurboBlaze, which is consistently a top-performing model. Where it lags behind, however, is versatility. The Midea can't reach as high a fan speed as the COSORI, which hinders its performance for making extra-crispy snacks or quickly browning foods with a high moisture content.

If you're wondering what we recommend, see our picks for the best air fryers, the best large-capacity air fryers, and the best air fryers for French fries.

    COSORI TurboBlaze

    Track

The COSORI TurboBlaze provides better air frying performance than the Midea Flexify Pro. While these air fryers make similarly crispy fried foods, the COSORI preheats and cooks faster. It’s also more versatile, thanks to its wider range of temperature and fan speed settings. This makes it a better choice not just for simple air fryer recipes, but also for dehydrating, baking, roasting, and more.

    Our Place Wonder Oven Pro

    Track

The Midea Flexify Pro is a better air fryer than the Our Place Wonder Oven Pro. These oven-style air fryers both cook somewhat slowly, which is common for large-capacity models, but the Midea preheats a little faster and reheats quicker after you open the doors to add food. By the time the Midea finishes cooking, more of your food is crispy and evenly cooked than with the Our Place. And while the Midea's maximum fan speed is pretty slow compared to most high-end models, its significantly faster than that of the Our Place, which makes it the more versatile pick overall.

Breville the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro

    Track

The Midea Flexify Pro is a better air fryer than the Breville the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro for most people. The Midea preheats and cooks faster than the Breville, and it maintains a more stable temperature throughout the process. Your food also comes out more evenly cooked with the Midea, so less of each batch is mushy or burnt. Having said that, the Breville is more versatile, with a wider range of temperature settings and fan speeds that make it a better choice for baking, roasting, dehydrating, and more. The added versatility is unlikely to justify the significantly higher price tag for most people. However, if you're planning to use the Breville oven to replace multiple kitchen appliances, it may be worth it, especially considering it has enough capacity to replace your regular oven for most tasks.

    Our Place Wonder Oven

    Track

The Midea Flexify Pro is a better air fryer than the Our Place Wonder Oven. The Midea takes a little longer to preheat, but it cooks faster. It also cooks more of your food to a crispy golden brown, while the Our Place struggles to evenly cook more than half of each batch. It's more versatile, too, with more temperature settings and fan speeds that make it better suited to alternate cooking methods, like baking and roasting. Finally, it also offers more capacity, though it also takes up more counter space.

The cooking chamber is very large. We obtained its capacity by measuring the usable cooking space and converting it to liters. While our result doesn't match the advertised capacity, there's still plenty of space for larger dishes, including a 12-inch pizza. There are two rack positions to choose from, depending on what your recipe calls for, and a mesh air-frying basket is included, though it doesn't have a non-stick coating, making it harder to clean.

This is a very versatile air fryer. It has a wide range of temperature settings, and its fan can reach a very low speed, which helps keep baked goods and leftovers from drying out. One downside, however, is that its top fan speed isn't very fast, making this air fryer less effective for recipes that require strong airflow to reduce surface moisture for quick browning.

This air fryer makes very good-quality fried food. Cooking frozen fried foods, like French fries, mozzarella sticks, and chicken nuggets, results in nearly the entire batch being crispy and evenly cooked. Just a few pieces don't get crispy enough and wind up with a mushy, undercooked texture.

Food cooks at a reasonable speed in this air fryer, putting it in line with other similarly sized oven-style air fryers. Most basket-style air fryers finish cooking faster, but you won't have to wait too long for crispy meals and snacks with this model.
