Sony ULT FIELD 5 vs JBL Xtreme 5

The JBL Xtreme 5 is a better outdoor speaker than the Sony ULT FIELD 5. The JBL has an IP68 rating compared to the Sony's IP67, meaning it'll withstand longer periods of water immersion if you accidentally drop it off your canoe. There's also manufacturer-advertised drop-proofing, and more use of rubber across the corners and edges of the JBL. To sweeten the deal, there's also a user-replaceable battery on the JBL, providing you an option to renew your speaker's life once the battery capacity shrinks. All that said, the Sony is typically the cheaper option, so you may feel compelled to make some tradeoffs for the lower price.
